Default Support for our DH's

Dh and I were talking today about this cycle and the past 3 1/2 yrs. He completely understands why I stay here wiht you girls and why I need you, but he brought up a good point. Who does he have to talk to about it??? There's no internet board for him (not that he'd know what to do with it). So I told him that I'd take a poll and see how many of us have dh's who actually post on a board to 'talk' about fertility. I know it sounds kinda crazy, but why not??

Mine already does in his own little way so I don't see why not. He's a MSN boards junkie.

DH couldn't type in a web address if his life depended on it! LOL. But even if he could, he's not the type to talk about these things.

I thought about it for a minute and at first it was 'hell no', but then I thought...they might gingerly talk about feeling like a sperm donor, how we don't act like 'wives' anymore, and that it all seems to be about getting the deposit. Or someone who's had a loss, what do you do and say to your wife. Stuff like that. I think it might be pretty reserved (I can't IMAGINE them talking like we do!), but it could be SOME outlet.

I had to put Absolutely Not! for my DH... not so much because "He's too proud and prefers to keep our fertility journey between us." but because he still doesn't see it as a problem... I guess the past 16 months have felt much longer to me than they have to him. Maybe way down the road that will change, but right now he's happy as a lark.

Steph - Yea, that's more what I thought it'd be like. I'm sure men would certainly not talk to eachother about their bj's (or lack there of lol), but an outlet. Just to bounce things off of each other so they know that their wife isn't the only completely obsessed, hormonal, whack job.

Irene - Yep, that's how my dh was in the beginning, too. He didn't think there was a problem and all we had to do was 'relax and bd'. Well, now, he about hits the roof when someone tells him to 'relax and bd'.

I would absolutely love it if DH would. But the chances of that happening are slim to none. I know that he thinks we have a problem. He just couldn't handle people knowing that we do.

I think that it is a good for the DHs that would actually do it, but I know mine wouldn't. He doesn't even talk to his best friends that he's known all his life about anything like this, and I KNOW he is getting sick of hearing about it from me. He doesn't act bothered when I talk about it, but he definatly doesn't act excited or anything like I do (which is normal I guess). His words were "I am excited about trying in my own way, on the inside- I just don't show it like you do. Plus, you're excited enough for the both of us."
