I am using prenatal vitamins while TTC.
I was wondering how many of you do the same. When I had my molar pregnancy I learned that even though there is no known cause or ways to prevent one thing that was constant was vitamin deficiency. So since I have already had one I'd like to be extra careful. I was wondering what brand those of you who take them are using. I was using a generic version of stuart prenatal. Now I am taking OneSource. Does anyone know of a liquid or chewable prenatal vitamin? |

Thanks girlygirl
I have been looking for a chewable or a liquid because they are most likely to be fully absorbed. Rac- I bought DH a multi vitamin months ago and the bottle is still sealed will get the fish oil ASAP what is it called? Just get the bottle of Omega 3 fatty acid? It will be double the benefit for me because I am acne prone and omega 3 helps control acne...I probably should have started it a long time ago |

Kia - Just get a fish oil supplement. Make sure that it goes through the natural process of removing as much mercury as possible. Go to a health food store or an organic store. Also have your dh take it.
My prenatal is a two a day supplement. I take one in the am and one in the pm. That way, my body is using what is missing and not getting overloaded in one shot. |

i feel like my DH's mom when i make him take his in the morning...like chasing a kid down to take his cold medicine; and once in a while he leaves it around the house somewhere from holding it and not remembering to take it!

ang - I actually had to list instructions on the top of my dh's supplement bottles. How many to take when..... At least he remembers to take them now. It was a while before he got into the habit, though. Yes, kinda makes you feel like their mom!
GG - Sometimes, depending on which part of my cycle I am in, my prenatals make me queasy... usually during the 2ww part. |

I take pre-nates, extra folic acid (200mg) and I am also taking Juice plus which is equal to 17 servings of fruit, veggies and whole grains in 4 pills because there is no way I could eat all of the reccomended servings per day.
I also take a red-rice yeast to combat the high cholesterol that comes with PCOS |

I get mine from our Rite-Aid down the street. our pharmacist went over the label's from the RX my dr. wrote me and the over the counter pre-natal vitamins. The over the counter are just as good in some area's and even better in others. And they are cheaper for a larger amount. I am taking them now even tho we are in the TTC stage. I was also told that it is good to start them now because folic acid is very important. I have read some of the other post and I will definitely start making sure that my hubby starts taking them too...
thanks! |
