Default Babyproofing the Fireplace

I have been really worried about how we were going to babyproof the fireplace since we have a large hearth. When searching online for ideas today i found this and ordered one. BabySafetyFoam.com : Baby Safety Foam Fireplace Hearth Guard
It is supposed to ship tomorrow so i'll post pics when it comes in.

This is great, Jen. Thanks! It's so much better than just something that covers the edges. I'm going to show it to DH and see if he wants to order it, too.

We don't have a hearth. We just have a gas fireplace that is floor level with some tile in front of it. I will need something to keep little fingers away from the glass. It has a screen on it but if you push on the screen it touches the glass.

Thanks for posting that jen. I just sent a link to dh. You are drumming up a lot of business!!

I am a little worried about dd touching the fire place. Has anyone seen any gates that would protect the whole area from the baby?

Here it is. We love it. The peace of mind is the best part. She pulls up on it and cruises it. She has fallen a few times and just bounces off and laughs.

The foam is sent to you in pieces and you assemble it with these pins. it was really easy.

Jen~LOL @ Olivia just bouncing off it & laughing. Silly girl
Our fireplace is so big, I don't think this would work for it. The brick part on ours spans the entire wall of our frontroom. I'll have to post a pic & maybe you girls can give me some advice.
