Default New members???

What's the deal with all of the "new members" with links to casino websites and things like that? Is there a way to delete them? They've been "signing up" left and right recently...

Probably just attemps to spam the forums, or at least Jer. I think the only person who can delete them is Jer.

Roma - Since I haven't been on much lately to read all of the posts... let me or Lisa know who they are. We can delete their posts and let Jer to remove them permanently.

Becca has brought it to my attention about all the spammers. I have been tracking them for a few weeks now and deleting them when I see them. I do, however, miss a few.

I now have the new member signup process set up that I need to verify every new member. This is a little time consuming and keeps future members from being able to signup quickly and post.

It is such a shame. First, we get hacked, and now we get spammers. I swear these dirtbags have nothing better to do. They must have such miserable lives that they feel the need to make others miserable. Misery loves company as they say.

I am looking into a script to ban certain ip addresses. Hopefully then, that will solve the problem for good. I think it is only one or two people anyways.

If anybody sees someone intentially spamming the boards, please message me and I will take care of it.

Thanks again for all the support!

Jer, have you considered that one verification tool, where it's a box with numbers and letters and you have to enter the numbers or letters correctly in order to verify the person registering isn't a spambot?

It looks like this:

I don't know what its called but a lot of websites use it in order to prevent spambots from registering.
