Default A little about me and my state...

Louisiana...ok I had to post this cause I was LMAO b/c they are ALL true! (not all for me, but my area for sure)! Let me know if some require explanations!

-Your sunglasses fog upwhen you step outside, even in December.
-You reinforce your attic to store
Mardi Gras beads
-You don't look twice when you see
pink flamingosin yards of nice subdivisions during Mardi Gras.
-You save newspapers, not for recycling but for
tablecloths at crawfish boils.
-Your ancestors are
buried above the ground.
-You drink
Community Coffee, have tried Starbucks, but don't see what all the fuss is about. (YEAH!!!)
-You take a bite of
five-alarm chiliand reach for the Tabasco.
-Every once in a while, you have
waterfront property.
-You sit down to eat boiled crawfish and
your host says, "Don't eat the dead ones," and you know what he means.
-You don't learn until high school that
Mardi Grasis not a national holiday.
-You
push little old ladiesout of the way to catch Mardi Gras beads..
-Little old ladies push
YOUout of the way to catch Mardi Gras beads.
-You believe that
purple, green , and goldlook good together.
-Your
last nameisn't pronounced the way it's spelled.
-You know what a
nutria is but you still pick it to represent your baseball team.
-Your town is low on the education chart, high on the obesity chart and you don't care because you're
No. 1on the party chart.
-Your house payment is
less than your utility bill.
-You know that
Tchoupitoulasis a street and not a disease.
-Your grandparents are called
"Mam-Maw"and "Paw-Paw."

continued....

too long for one post...

-Your Santa Clausrides an alligator and your favorite Saintis a football player.
-You cringe every time you hear an actor with a Southern or Cajunaccent in a "New Orleans-based" movie or TV show.
-You have to reset your clocks after everythunderstorm.
-You're walking in theFrench Quarter with a plastic cup of beer.
-When it starts to rain, you cover yourbeerinstead of your head.
-You've eaten at one or more of these restaurants, AND know how to pronounce them: Prejeans, Tu Jac's, Gallatoire's, Ralph & Kacoo's, Brunet's, or Mulatte's.
-You eat dinner out and spend the entire meal talking about all the other good placesyou've eaten.
-You call home just to find out what your momma'nemare having for supper tonight.

Cassie - LOVE it!!

A lot of those would work for TX too. Or at least Houston, since we are really close to LA and we have a huge Mardi Gras too.

Cass, that had me LOL! Partly because I've been to New Orleans and other cities in "Lou-siana" multiple times, and partly because like Mere said, SO much of that could apply to San Antonio, just change a word here or there!!!

There were a few that really got me going. ROFL!

Fiesta is big here, the whole city basically shuts down to party for a week and a half. There is one perticular Friday where we have the Battle of Flowers parade, and almost all the businesses in the city close by noon (except for the necessities places, gas stations, grocery stores). It's a school and bank holiday! I've always teased that everyone should live in a city that makes up its own holidays.

That is 100% true. The onlly restaurant I've never been to on there is Tu Jac's.

Robin - the dead ones have straight tails - that means they died before they got cooked and those are the ones that will make you sick. The good ones have curved tails.

Oops sorry I didn't see your question Robin, Kelly answered perfectly

Oh and Robin, people suck the juice out of the crawfish heads once you pop the tails off. LOL! Alot of people (my daddy included) eat the fat out of the head. Same with crabs...the fat is my aunts favorite part

Good ol southern people with good ol southern values. You either shoot it, stuff it, or marry it! ...(got that Steph)

LMAO! Y'all weren't supposed to tell! It's more fun to let them wonder.

The crawfish head thing...it's sorta like, 'now you're a real man, you sucked the head'. LOL!

LOL@'shoot it, stuff it, or marry it'. Can I do more than one of those things to the same creature?
