I've read posts several times w/out responding so I'll see what I can remember.

Bina - that is so sad that you and your friend both m/c the same time. I'm glad you can be there for each other and now TTC together.

Jess - I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. I hope the appt. on Monday goes well. We'd all love that the dr. will tell you he was wrong, but we will just hope that you're body can handle this naturally so you won't have to have any procedures done. You have such a sweet little baby girl.

Everyone who responded a/b babies sitting/crawling/etc - thank you! I didn't think she was supposed to sit up but then I was reading some other things and thought maybe she was behind. When she is with me/DH, we hold her all the time but MIL doesn't hold her all day like that.

Karen - I think you asked - we are not having to take off work to watch Hannah, at least. MIL still flakes out a/b once/week but luckily, DH's grandmother (who raised him) is watching her the other days, like today. MIL left DH w/ his grandparents for 13 years, I don't know why I'm surprised that she's not more reliable - I guess I just thought she had grown up in the last 30 years. Hannah is 2nd on the waiting list for the school district daycare, but there are not usually openings during the school year. She will go there for sure next year. I forgot to start looking for Mother's Day Outs.

I called the ped. today b/c Hannah's eczema is getting much worse again. She said not to do another round of the steroid cream yet, just to increase the other lotions. I hope it doesnt' get as bad as it was before we went to the dr.

Kelly ~ I forgot, I'm going to email my friend right now a/b the eczema...

EDIT: ok, I did. I asked her to think back and remember what all they tried and did to finally get her niece's under control. Hopefully, we can save you some time and trouble.

Vicki - Since I am making it for CJ, I just peel/core/slice the apples, with one of those machines where you stick the apple on and turn the crank. Today I did a whole bag of apples, and it filled a 5 qt. crock about 3/4 full. I added 1.5 c water, but that was it, cooked it on high for 2 hours. Done. ( I have a super-fast cooking crock, so for a regular one, it may take 4 hours - but you don't have to do anything to it so you can do all the other canning prep during that time.)

If I were making it for adults, Iwould probably add either splenda or sugar and cinnamon, and a little lemon juice right in the crock at the beginning, to keep them from browning as much.

I wonder if you could use a pressure cooker and make it even faster....
Looks like this would be really FAST, like 15-20 minutes!!!:
Quick & Easy Applesauce in the Pressure Cooker - CookingWithPam ... Enabled recipes and information from the kitchen of Pamela Rice Hahn

Steph - Thanks, she was laughing at me being silly that day! I am drinking my GIant mug of water ( I have a 52 oz. mug) I have cooked and frozen all the squash and sweet potatos, cooked a whole bag of Chicken Breasts and diced them, and taken Cj to the Dr. for her rash, which is getting better, but they think it is an allergic reaction to the wal-mart formula, bummer, can't save that $....but i think it is weird that for an allergic reaction, the rash was only on her torso and head, not arms or legs? Oh well, we are keeping a close eye on it and back on Goodstart. I need to get going I am making chicken and spinach alfredo lasagna tonight, and maybe dessert, too, I feel like CHOCOLATE!

Amber,Laura and Judith, thanks for the recipes!

Well things are going well here. Emilee is growing like a weed. She went today for her shots and all in all it went well. I just mainly think that her legs are sore from them. She weighs 12 pounds 10 ounces and is 23" long.

Hi! So, no explanations about that fact that I have been MIA, for, oh, well, 10 months or MORE. Just popping back in to say hi and see how everyone is doing, any new BFPs, etc. Probably most of you won't even remember me, I'm from the olllllld school CT! I won't even pretend to say I have "caught up". But I do see a few posts on excema. I have three kiddos with it, including my newest who is nearly a year. If anyone has any questions about cure (attempts), just drop a line. We've tried everything, and I'd be happy to share my experience. I just didn't want to reinvent the wheel and rattle off at the mouth if it had already been covered.

So, yeah, well - hi!

Kelly,
have you thought about taking her to a dermatologist? Brandon see's one for his eczema but to be honest we are still struggling with it.

Megan sent you a message

Red face

I'm so behind on posts and too tired to go back and read them all. I just hope everyone is well! And Jess your in my thoughts.

I just have to comment on how wonderful Aidan's Doctor is. With his reflux (eating much less) and throwing up I've been worried he's not gaining the weight his Cardiologist wants him to so we called and got in right away for a weight check and more help with the reflux (Axid doesn't seem to be helping). Well first off Aidan weighed 7lbs 2 oz last friday, today he weighed 8 lbs! We along with his doctor were shocked. Even though he hasn't been eating as much I guess the extra formula in his breast milk has been helping. Also he gave us 7 cans of good start and 75 days worth of the prevacid Solutabs free. Can I just say I LOVE that man! We have to break the tabs in to 3 pieces and he had his first dose right when we got home, and he took his no problem. Those things ROCK!

I just had to share how great our day was.

Hey all!

Sarah - that is great about the Dr. with the freebies, we NEVER get that! Great that Aidan is gaining well, and the Prevacid seems to work well for lots of babies, and is so much easier to administer than liquids.

SOKY - Sounds like Emilee is doing great!

Oh, Dh said Daylight savings time change is pushed back this year to sometime in Nov....let me search.....Used to be April to October, now it is March to November: Daylight Saving Time - When do we change our clocks?

Cj did another GREAT NIGHT! Slept from 6:30 pm to 6 am without a peep!

I am feeling OK, yesterday I had brown spotting all day, but no cramps....I had one sharp pain on my left side in the evening, but only for about 3 seconds. This morning I have a little red blood, like the beginning of AF. I am taking my prenatal and an iron pill, to make sure I don't get anemic, and eating small frequent meals, and drinking my giant mug of H2O. I feel ok, maybe some slight cramps now, but not even as strong as AF, yet. I am keeping an eye on my flow so it doesn't get too heavy, if I go thru more than one pad an hour, I will head for ER. Dh is going to call regularly and check on me.

Gotta go check 2 baby registries for showers in the next 2 weeks.

PandC, it is called "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" By Dr. Marc Weissbluth( I think I spelled that right) It has done wonders for us and CJ, for naps AND night-time!

Sarah - that is AWESOME about the freebies!!!! YAHOOO!!!

Jess - I'm glad you are feeling ok, I pray it doesn't get any worse.

Today is PICTURE day at daycare! I wanted to dress Rhylee in Fall Clothes...but it's still hot here and she didn't have anything to match her bows. LOL!!! So She has on some blue jean capris trimmed in pink & ...Well I'm sure I might have a picture to share of her in the outfit already. I sent her with a white bow (made by crystal) in her hair and told them I know it may not stay in all day, but MAKE SURE she has it in for pictures. I also requested they have her standing holding on to something.

On a sadder note...my friends Mother has been batteling cancer for a few years now. We think her time is almost up. She quit taking treatments some time back because they made her so sick and she didn't want to live what she had left feeling that way. The cancer has now spread to her liver & around her kidneys. My friend is an only child and she is VERY close to her parents. I cried reading her email yesterday. Being a mom has changed me so much and these things hit me in a different way now. Please say a prayer for her.
