Judith, Yea! I am glad the milk of mag is working. Is he still straining to hold it in? Hopefully it won't take him long to figure out that pooping is okay and you can stop it. Are you starting the yogurt? Maybe after two weeks you can stop the milk of mag and the yogurt will start working. What kind is it? I am so irregular in that department I think I should try it.

Robin, I can't believe people are so rude. Both of your girls are beautiful. I am proud of what you said to her, I probably would have been so stunned I couldn't have come up with anything good to say and I hate when that happens.

Lisa, 7 months, crazy people. While shopping the other day this lady came up to me and said "oh fat baby, he is such a fat baby" she kept saying it and I was so shocked. I just said yes, mommmy makes good milk, but in my head I thought "fat b@$%&" I might have said that if Sydney and Alex weren't with me. Some people are just so rude.

Tammy, sounds like Alyssa may have the same problem that Mason does. They say 95% of children with constipation have functional constipation. That means they have had a hard stool in the past that hurt so now they are afraid of going so they hold it in which dries it out more and causes more pain. It is a painful cycle and hard to break. Here is an article about it. http://www.aafp.org/afp/20060201/469.html

Robin, congrats on getting on CHIP. I too wish our country did more for health insurance but it seems we are too concernced with helping other countries out then helping our own

Cassie, glad Rhylee is feeling better. Jack has been congested since Wednesday and I have been going to town with the bulb syringe. He hates that thing but it is like a mission to me... my kids won't have nasty crusty noses

Lauren, good luck with the job hunt!

Tammy, thanks for that article. I find it hard to believe that God made us to feed our babies but forgot something. I guess I will have to do more research on it.

Kelly, Jack's pedi didn't suggest it until his 2 month check-up. I even asked if it was really needed and she said yes.

Kristy - I got lucky there, Rhylee loves her bulb booger sucker! She's soo funny she makes a cough every time I do it so yesterday I'd delay the suck and she'd do the cough anyway.

Thanks for all the feedback about feeding Caleb. I appreciate it!
I'm going to have daycare start adding a cereal feeding around noon & just go from there. I also plan to start oatmeal today then probably next week will try some green beans or peas. YAY!

I bought the Rainforest Jumperoo & Caleb LOVES it. Granted, he hasn't figured out how to actually jump in it yet, haha, but he loves to just sit in it & play with the toys. We have it on the 2nd height level...I think i'm going to lower it til he figures it out.

Caleb's at daycare today & i'm off work. I plan on cleaning the house really good today so tomorrow can be a lazy day for us.

I want to see the Sicko movie, too. It's sad that things like that happen that make you want to leave the country.

Amber - I called a/b my hospital bills yesterday, too, b/c they were due a few days ago and I hadn't paid anything. Luckily, I talked to a very nice person who gave me a 30 day extension at which point I can start paying $200/month until it's paid off. Someone told me that once you pay 60% of your bills, call them and tell them you don't have any money and just can't afford to pay them anymore and they'll write the rest off b/c most people don't even pay that much. Tell them they can have $30/month or nothing.

Kristy - Jack is very cute, but I wouldn't call him a "fat" baby. DH's stepfather has a nephew who weighed 27 lbs at 4 months. That is a fat baby. Do you have to go back to work this week?

Judith - Hope you have a Happy Anniversary. It's my ILs anniversary too. They got married like 16ish years ago on the 4th, then got divorced for a little while, then got remarried a few years later on the 4th again.
So MIL has been married 4 times but only to 3 husbands, or maybe it's 5 times to 4 husbands I'm glad I'm not the only one with this hip pain, and my back pain is coming back really bad, too. I told DH I might be useless for a few days.

I did not have a good night last night. DH didn't get home until almost 9. He gave Hannah a bottle around 11pm and I pumped (only 1 1/2 oz ) Then she would not even close her eyes. Finally and hour later I just nursed her, put her in the pack n play and went to sleep on the couch. I was getting so frustrated with her and DH's snoring. Luckily, I got some good sleep after that, but she has been really cranky this morning b/c she didn't get enough sleep. I've got to set the schedule and actually stick to it. I keep thinking I shouldn't rush it but I think everyone's life would be easier if I was a little more strict with the routine.
My house is a disaster even though I felt like I spent a long time cleaning yesterday and I'm going to kill my dog if he won't stop barking. Times like this when I wonder if my hormones are still a little out of whack.

Kristy- He seems to be just going w/o struggling at all. However I really think he still needs the milk of magnesia because I am only on the 3nd day of food again and I want to make sure he doesn't go through that again. The yogurt I am eating that is making me go I would not give to Mason because it has 23 grams of sugar. It is Yo naturals with probiotics. I also hear activia is good for adults. They told me not to give that to Mason. However Lou told me about 2 kinds her daughter are on Kefir and Brown Cow that have the probiotics and help they go so I will look into them for Mason.

Kelly- I know how you feel. It's hard to decide when they can handle a routine. For Mason we had to wait a bit because he was colic. Hannah sounds like she could handle it. We started out with this long drawn out process that wasn't needed. I used to do bath, baby massage, then feed him in his rocker with only the night light on while singing the same song to him every night. I quickly cut it down to only the feeding and singing and with-in a week or so he was rubbing his eyes at the same time every night asking to go to sleep. Although if you can try to get your DH to do bedtime every other night with a pumped bottle becuase we had a hard time with Mason wanting my DH to do it. So, I started pumping and not nursing him the last feeding and no matter who did it we did a bottle and that did the trick for him to stop wanting only me.

Cassie- Wow your lucky she loved her booger sucker.

Robin- Yay to getting CHIP!! WHat hours will your DH be working?

Kelly- Oh that was nutty about them getting married/ divorced then remarried the same day. LOL

DH & I met on 4th of July to we decided to get married on our 5 year anniversary

Kristy- I didn't believe for a second that Mason needed those vit. either. Especially when they were made by enfamil!! I felt like the formula companies were just trying to get money from nursing moms. I was told 7 minutes a week in the sun was equal to them for the Vit D. Mason was a fall/ winter baby so I'm sure Jack will be in the sun plenty this summer.

Judith - Next week he will be 8 am to 4 pm and then the following week is when he will have to go out of town on training and after that I am not sure what he will be working. It is going to take some adjusting because I am so used to him working 9 to 5 weekends off. He most likely will work 2pm to 10pm yuck.

I am uploading some video of Lela with her doll.

Mason fell off our bed today. I knew it was just a matter of time. I can't really nap with him in our bed anymore now that he crawls but it is the only way I can get a nap too.

I have woken up to him just about to crawl off the side of the bed and our bed is up high too!! I have had my big pregnancy pillow on the ground just incase. It must have broken his fall just fine because I woke up and he wasn't in bed and I went over to look at him and he smiled at me.

Now I have to worry about having my bedroom door shut so he doesn't crawl into the hall and fall down the stairs. Hurry up gates and get here.

With DH home the next 5 night w/o work... we have to double team him and work on him sleeping through the night in his crib & napping in his crib too.

Judith - good luck getting that routine down! That would be awesome. I'm waiting for Rhylee to sleep 11 hours!!! She only sleeps like 8 most of the time and bad thing is I'm still up about an hour or more after she is sleeping. I think she is soo used to getting up during the week there is no sleeping on the weekends. Most times I can get her to go back down for another hour or 2 though. So I guess that's pretty good.

Cassie- I don't know what ever happened to my 11 hours of him sleeping. It has been months. He does like 6-8 hours now and wakes up a bunch in between. I think his apnea is getting worse and wakes him up all the time then it is very hard to get him back down.

Judith, after reading Renee's post about Brandon I don't think I would give Mason yogurt until he is a year old. He has already had reactions to some of the food you have given him so I don't think I would take a chance with dairy. Just my opinion, he may do fine with it, if you do give it to him make sure it is early in the morning so you can watch him all day. I am glad the milk of mag is working so well on him. Hopefully it won't take long to correct his poopy issues!

Wow, Robin I would have been upset too! You were much better than I could have been. I don't know if I could keep my mouth shut! I've had a few people say something about one of the girls and it irks me so bad. They don't do it much anymore but when they were babies it happened often. I would always follow with "so is the other one, they're identical!" Good noew about DH's job and CHIPS!

Cassie, glad she's feeling better already!

Judith, yikes! Sorry he took a tumble but sounds like he's a rough little guy and b/c of the pillow he might've even foud it fun! Good luck with the sleep training. Consistency is key. My girls have been great nappers ever since I got them in their cribs on their schedules. I just followed their cues and put them down when they acted tired...fussed a bit at first but they got it!

HAPPY 10 MONTHS NATE! Two more months for the big day!

Ooops, it's nap time around here! They're worn out from all the fun we've had today! Catch up later!

hey girls...just got back from a mommy date...LOL. my friend with the 4 mo. old son and my other friend that just had her daughter 3 weeks ago went and walked around the mall and browsed. I got abby's birthday dress. i REALLY wanted this one, but they don't have it in her size and i've been to 3 kohl's and no 12 mo sizes...so i opted for a different ladybug dress...still very cute, but not the one i wanted. oh well, i don't feel like wasting anymore gas my mom is going to pay me back for the dress..she wants to get it for her

i am having no luck at all with finding bday invites that i want. i'm not even hoping for anything with ladybugs on it anymore...red and black polka dots, or just plain red would be fine with me. but there's nothing. and we don't have a ton of money to work with so i can't get them personalized or anything cause there's a ton out there if i want to spend some good $$.

ok, enough venting, sorry...

judith - thank god for your pillow...i can just see that handsome face smiling back at you when you looked down...LOL

robin - 2pm to 10pm...that is a weird schedule..but at least he'll still be home to go to bed with you....and spend together in the mornings. dh left this morning at 5:30am and isn't going to be home til about 8pm tonight. fun! and that's great about the insurance for the girls. abby's is the same way..no copays or anything and everything is covered. the only thing that isn't is if we go the ER and it's not an emergency...but who does that? LOL

tammy - sounds like you got some deals at walmart. glad alyssa seems to be doing better already!

kelly - my aunt is getting married next month and it's her 5th husband...
