Christie-Yay Charlie! He is so cute!
Vicki-Ethan is such a big boy! They do grow so fast. Jen-What a scary episode with Olivia. I'm glad she is better now except for teething. Mere-I'm sorry your DH and Katie have been sick. I'm glad Katie's feeling better and I hope you can get some rest. Kelly-Great deal on those diapers! It's so hard to get online. I've been trying to read the posts all day, and am just now getting a chance to post. Abby has been up on and off since 9. She sleeps so much still; she is usually only up for an hour or so, then takes a nap. She probably takes 10 naps a day. I've been offering her rice cereal, but she doesn't like it yet. She goes for her 4 month appt on Monday. I can't wait to see how much she weighs. She feels like a ton and she's in size 3 diapers now. DH watched her for the first time while I was at work Thursday. I put her in the crib Wed night, but she woke up later, and DH wasn't happy (he was still up). I got up at 4:30 or so and told him to go to bed, and she didn't go back to sleep until close to 7:30 when I left. She then slept a lot throughout the day, so DH didn't have any problem. I was exhausted after getting up early, and working for 12 hours. I was up until midnight, then DH took her so I could sleep, and she didn't go to bed until 2am or so, since she had slept so much during the day. She was up much more than usual yesterday, but seems to be back to her normal sleepy self today.

Kelly - Marika is doing better thank you for asking
I will have to try and get some video of Marika and her teething rings. She gets SOOOOO mad when she can't get them into her mouth. She throws a heck of a fit. It is cute because she will try to put it up to her face but she keeps putting it up to her eyes instead of her mouth. I can't help but laugh! I am thinking about trying some strained green beans with her when she turns 4 months but I am not sure if that is too early. Any suggestions? I do not plan on giving her very much. She will still be fed breast milk primarily.

Amber-I hated the baby borjne (sp) whenever I put her in it her feet would turn purple. I have the ergo baby, it is super awesome and she loves it. You can carry the baby from infant until like 5 if you wanted to. Also you carry the baby close to you so there is skin to skin contact. I can't say enough good things about it. Check out there website, Baby Carriers | ERGO Baby Carrier, Inc
Vicki-Your little guys are so cute. chrisie-way to go Charlie I need to get some video of Linnaea walking Ok off to puke |

DH and I just went to dinner with a Christmas gift card which was nice - Hannah was a very good girl and ate mashed potatoes. Since I got home, I'm just in a bitchy mood. DH was "joking" w/ me a/b being messy and I don't remember what else but I just never think it's funny. I think I need a girls night out.

Geez, I am totally lost! I've been away for a few days and feel like it's been months! I read back about 5 pages but I'll be here all night if I keep going, so hopefully I have at least an idea of what is new with everyone...
Marci-- Congrats on the new bean!! That is so exciting! And, just so you know, I plan on stealing your ticker idea... any motivation I can get to keep bfing is good. Karen-- I read your update about the neg. test results for Riley. Great news! Not that she'd be any less precious if she did have ... uh, spinal-something-or-other, but I'm sure that would have had health issues to worry about. Recently, I was thinking about a friend of mine who had once told me something that always stuck with me. It was about God being an artist, and we are all His creations, his important figures in his great piece of art. Some of us tend to blend together and go unnoticed, but others have something special that makes them stand out. I was thinking of Riley, and how her small stature makes her one of those "special" figures that stands out in this great giant painting. Anyway, it was very poetic the way she told it to me, and I thought about it once when you were having a bad day, and thought I'd just like to tell you that to keep in mind when you have one again. Re: the lack of sex drive people-- I'm right there with ya! I have NO desire whatsoever, and try to give in to DH just b/c I feel like the poor guy is suffering! I'm hoping it will return eventually... luckily, we are both too tired right now to really care much, anyway.I'm sure there was more, but I just can't remember... |

So now on to MY update (thought I'd give a break since that was a long post).
The boys turn 4 months tomorrow! Joel rolled over (tummy to back) that one day but hasn't since. I'm a bit frustrated but I'm sure he'll get it again soon enough. Evan still just screams when I put him on his tummy. He's a stubborn little thing. Neither one reaches for toys yet, though they like watching them. I think if I could get them to try grabbing, it would help with the rolling. I've been sick since shortly after Christmas. Started as a sinus thing, then turned into upper resp. infection. Had to start antibiotics a few days ago, which means I have to pump and dump for a total of ten days. Very frustrating. I never really realized how proud I am to be bf'ing until now. I cried yesterday b/c I feel bad that I am not providing nourishment for the boys. I really didn't expect it to be such a big deal to me, but now I definitely am motivated to keep going with it. They fought the bottles for a day or so, but now are willing to take the bottles and formula. So I think I'm just going to keep them using bottles and pumping rather than nursing. That way, they still get my milk, but will be prepared for when times occur that they'd actually need to take a bottle (plus, I'm starting to get really nervous about teething... ouch!) I weighed the boys today on our scale at home. Joel is just over 17lbs!! Evan is 14ish (hard to tell exactly.) I cannot believe these guys came five weeks early. Had they been born on their due date, they'd be these sizes at just under 3 months old! We started solid feeding on Christmas (Santa brought them cereal and spoons |

Sarah - You are a super mom. Way to go with the pumping.
Kelly - Sorry you are having such a hard time. Kayla - Glad Marika is doing well and can sleep in her crib with the bouncy.

Kayla, I am so happy that the bouncy thing is working for Marika. She is in my prayers.
Kelly, I am sorry that you are in a bad mood. I will be very jealous if you and Kristy get to go out without me, I so wish I was there for a girls night out. Kristy, what is going on with your DHs cancer treatment? Sarah, way to go on still BFing the boys. I am really impressed. You should be totally proud of yourself for sticking with it. If I were you though I would consider nursing and doing bottles as the boys will get WAY more from you than if you pump. Dh and I went on a date tonight and the baby did great. This is the first time we have left her with a teenage babysitter, only the second time we have left the big girls with one. She is now sleeping through the night again (thank goodness) and she is just doing new stuff everyday. She had Mollys guitar today and was holding it like a cello and picking at the strings like she totally knew what she was doing. And then tonight she was holding a stuffed dog and I asked her to give the dog a kiss and she did, the best part is, whenever she does something like that she smiles really big like she knows she is great! I hope everyone is having a great weekend! |

Christie- I hope you are having a great time with your friends!!! An evening out sounds wonderful!
Kayla- Thank you!!! It is Gymboree. I searched for weeks on Gymbofriends to get that entire outfit. I am quite proud of that one. Kelly- I've been meaning to tell you, my Best Friends little girl started limiting her milk intake at about 8 Months. She seemed to just enjoy foods more so they just increased her solids. I wouldn't worry about her, she knows what she needs, she would be letting you know if her needs weren't being met Kayla- we started with cereal for a couple weeks a four months, then i tried baby food, unfortunately it made Olivia really sick. Her digestive system jsut wasn't ready to digest solids. We tried again at 6 months and she did great. Each baby is different, give it a try and see what happens. Karen- Thank you sooo much for giving us an update on Riley. That is so great!!!! I've had the BEST day!!! DH took off work early and we went and bought home organization stuff. PLUS, we went to the Olive Garden and Olivia did great. People kept commenting about how they couldnt even tell she was there. I was so proud because the last couple times DH and I have gone out to eat she has thrown a fit so now DH is afraid to go out with her. Then we came home and DH started putting up the shelves. He only has one closet left. I am trying to get my house really organized and then do a deep cleaning before her party. I still can't believe my baby is turning one, ![]() ohhh and i have been meaning to tell you guys, Olivia is sleeping through the night again now and until 8:00 a.m. every morning !!! It is HEAVEN |

jen-that's wonderful about dinner and organization. A double bonus! I'm right with you on the babies turning 1. We still have a few months, but it is hard. I cried when Bri and Nate turned 1. I was proud, but sad that my baby grew up.
lisa-YAY for date night, we have still on done that since Ethan was born. I miss it. But to be honest, we really have not had many nights away from the kids. Nate was just when I had Ethan and was in the hospital. Briana I could count on both hands. So we are really dying for us time. sarah-wow, you are doing incredible with nursing, pumping. I don't know how you do it with 2. Your super mom. that is wonderful about their weights, they sound like they are growing well. Happy 4 months Joel and Evan! I'm sure I missing things this morning, it was an earlier morning with Nate and Ethan. I was hoping dh would get up with them, but I heard Ethan and could not go back to sleep. Hope everyone has a good morning. |
