Krissy - For me it is painful at first but gets better after the initial shock. Don't be scared just take it slow.

Krissy- keep in mind that I had a second degree tear (whatever that means) and when my doctor examined me on Friday he said that I have some scar tissue where the stitches were. That is where the pain was.
It was a burning sensation. DH went slowly and we were able to get it all the way in (sorry if tmi) but it still burned, though it wasn't as bad as it was on initial contact. Luckily after waiting 6 weeks to BD, DH wasn't in too long. We'll eventually try again, but I won't be upset if it's not soon.

Wow, Jo. You're so brave! I haven't allowed poor DH near me yet even almost 10 weeks after! It's still sensitive and a bit painful around the scar and I'm deathly afraid of it being repeatedly 'traumatized' !!!! Has it gotten better since?

Snowie- our escapade was only four days ago, so nothing new to report. I am guessing I can hold DH off until at least next week sometime. This next time we will probably use some lube of some sort.

As far as BC goes, is anyone breastfeeding and charting? I don't know how the temping will work when I only get a few hours of sleep in between feedings. Dominic has begun sleeping close to 5 hours at a time at night for the last three nights, but that can all change in the blink of an eye. We don't want to be on any BC but I don't want to get pg again so soon. When should I expect my first period to show up? It's been 6 weeks today.

Jo-I think as long as you get three hours before temping you should have an accurate reading? And yay Dominic for sleeping 5 hours straight! As for expecting a period, I think if you're exclusively bfing then you might not get it until you begin to wean. I know kellymom.com has all the details of how bf and bc work (or was it la leche league?). There are several criteria that have to be met in order for bfing to be an effective bc method. HTH.

As for me, I guess bc is a nonissue since I can't even get myself to dtd!!! lol

Jo - even though I BF exclusively for 6 months, and then still 80%+ of the time till 9 months (when I got pregnant again oops!) I still got my period back at 4 months....that is also when my "pregnancy acne" finally cleared up...hormones must've finally "regulated". We usually just used comdoms - I was in the mood so seldom (exhausted and feeling blech about myself), that we didn't use very many in those 9 months, lol!

CJ didn't sleep for a 5 hour stretch till after 4 months, consider yourself blessed he is sleeping that long even if it may be temporary! She ate every 2 hours around the clock for the first 4 months I think, so temping would've not worked for me!

HTH

Jess
