That mountain dew cake sounds so cool - I might just have to try it tonight and surprise DH (since we don't usually do dessert during the week).

I make a chocolate kahlua bundt that uses a mix too. So fast and easy.

edit: dummy that I am I don't know if prego ladies or those that are BF can eat cakes with liquor in them. i know that alot of it burns off in the cooking process but probably not.

1 chocolate cake mix
1 package instant chocolate pudding mix
4 eggs
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup kahlua

For glaze:
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup water
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup kahlua

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour bundt pan.

In a large bowl, combine cake mix and pudding mix. Mix in the eggs, 1/2 cup water, oil and 1/2 cup kahlua. Blend well. Pour batter into pan and bake in preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.

Let cake sit for 10 minutes in the pan, then turn out onto serving plate. While sitting, make glaze: In a saucepan, combine butter, 1/4 cup water and 1 cup sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat and continue to boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup kahlua.

The way I glaze is to pour half of the glaze into the bundt pan, reinsert the cake, the pour the rest of the glaze over the bottom of the cake. It’s not perfect but it’s a lot easier than brushing and waiting for it to be absorbed over and over.

I altered this from a rum cake recipe, which used yellow cake and vanilla pudding. I’ve also made it with a yellow cake mix/vanilla pudding mix and Baileys. I used a christmas tree bundt pan and it looks so nice when you sprinkle it with confectioner’s sugar.

Irene ~ That sounds really good! I bet a lot of it does cook off, plus it is only 1/2 a cup for the whole cake. I would think it is fine if you have a slice. Just my opinion though.

Thanks for sharing the yummy recipes ladies! I read but don't post as I don't cook so don't have any to share. I used to help DH cut stuff up but now with the m/s I can't even be near the kitchen when he cooks. We've resorted to grilling out almost every night so I don't have to smell the food.

I'm definitely going to have to start altering the way I cook when we expand our family. I was just thinking of how many things I make that use wine or liquor Luckily kid friendly food is probably easier in the long run!!

I forgot about the cake. It turned out really good too...very moist. Dh's only complaint is it didn't have any icing. I thought it was plenty just the cake itself, but dh has a real sweet tooth.

Mix beef and noodles with 1 cup cottage cheese and 1 cup sour cream. Place in 9x13 baking dish and top with shredded cheese. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
I made this last night and it was right up our alley - super easy and filling enough for DH. I also loved the fact that it was cheap since we're trying to watch our funds right now. I must confess that I used full containers of sour cream and cottage cheese (2 cups each) since I didn't remember the measurements when I stopped at the grocery store so I bought the bigger containers.
