Pressed Butter Cookies

1 cup butter
2/3 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/3 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
various colored sprinkles

Cream butter and sugar. Mix in egg and vanilla. Add flour, salt, and baking powder.

Load dough into a cookie press. I have this one:
Cookie Max™ Cookie Press - Wilton

Press onto un-greased cookie sheet. Decorate with sprinkles.

Bake at 375 for about 10 min.

This makes small cookies, so be careful, they will burn easy.

This is my DH's family's tradition, which I fell in love with so much that I had them at my wedding reception.

Chocolate cover cranberries are really good too! You get fresh cranberries, wash them, dry them and dip them in chocolate. Keep 'em in the fridge! Just the right mixture of sweet and tart!

White Choc. cranraisin oatmeal cookies

1 cup of softened butter
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups Quaker oats (uncooked)
1 cup cranraisins
1 cup white chocolate chips

Heat over to 350 degrees. Beat together butter and sugars until creamy and light. Add eggs and vanilla, beat in well.
Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Mix well.
Stir in oats, cranraisins, choc. chips, mix well. Drop a tablespoonful onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes just till they start to lightly brown. (don't over bake, that way they are nice a soft) Cool of 1 minutes on cookie sheet, remove and cool on a rack.

Makes 3 1/2 to 4 dozen (depending on the size)

You can bake this up in an ungreased 13 by 9 baking pan for 30-35 minutes for a bar cookie.

they are! they are very similar to a standard oatmeal raisin, but with white choc. and cranraisins. My kids love them and it is a great way to get in a little fruits and some oats.

I made these over the weekend and I am making myself take them to work tomorrow b/c they are TOO GOOD to keep in the house. I had cookies for breakfast this morning

Supreme Chocolate Chip Cookies

1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup softened butter
3/4 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
3/4 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 package vanilla instant pudding
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans(optional-I didn't use)
1 cup uncooked quick cooking oats

Beat shortening and butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until mixture is creamy;gradually add sugars, beating well. Add eggs, beating until blended. Add pudding mix and vanilla;beat until blended.

Combine flour and next four ingrediants. Gradually add to butter mixture, beating until blending. Stir in morsels, pecans and oats.

Shape dough into 1 1/2 inch balls;place on lightly greased baking sheets, and press to 1-inch thickness. Bake @375 for 10-12minutes, remove to wire racks to cool.

I LOVE them!!! I did have to put away the mixer and just use a wooden spoon for mixing partially through adding the flour b/c the dough is so thick. I hope you guys like them as much as we did.

Here is a super easy and cute cookie. Check them out. I will post a picture later of the finished products. We are making these now with the kids.

Vicki, I can't wait to see a picture. I need to make some cookies for my neighbors for Christmas and haven't decided on what to make.

Lauren, what are thumbprint cookies?

Kedney-Here is the picture from the website. Ours still need the icing on the tip. We are going to finish tonight. We ran out of time last night before they went to bed.

Decorative Cookies: Elf Hats

Here is a picture of Briana finishing them a little while ago. Yes some of them don't look so much like elf hats, but something else. I have a great toffee bar recipe I will try to list later.
