Last night sucked. We watched Reign on Me which I will give my review momentarily, but oh did my cravings for the worst food hit me. I really wanted a coney and chili and cheese tater tots, and ice cream, and cookies, cake, and DP! I mean they were really bad cravings that was making my mouth water. Oh and how I would love some chinese food. Oh, this mind thing is a killer. I did resist by going to bed! I went to bed before midnight! I am having some killer cravings now, so I am going to have to make dinner early tonight. So here is what I have had today and what will be for dinner:
Bkfast- nothing I slept in, I think all of the thunderstorms is casing me to be tired. Lunch: 2 WW tortillas filled with turkey lunch meat 1/2 slice of cheese on each, sm line of mustard, and topped with chopped spinach with lemonade to drink. Dinner: Pork Chops (no bone) cooked with my onion mix and drizzled with olive oil and seasoning, on the side will be carrots and a giant spinach salad. Oh, I did the spin class again and my rump doesn't hurt as bad as it did the other day. I cheated today and weighed just to see my progress and it said 220.4! I will not officially enter that until Monday! Oh, but it is nice to see progress that would put me at 4.75lbs lost in 6 days! Go me. Ok, well I will post the following movie reviews later this evening : Reign on Me, Rendition, August Rush, American Gangster, and No Reservation (if any of you haven't seen it let me know and I will give a review). I will talk to you all later this evening. I don't remember who was going to make my sauce but let me know if you liked it. I loved it OMG is was soooooooooooooooooo freakin good. Ta Ta for now! |

We all have those moments where the craving-monster sinks his teeth in, Lindy. The trick will be to learn to isolate why and what you are craving, so you can determine how much you want it, if it will actually sate you, if you are really thirsty, hungry, bored, sad, tired, whatever.
If you aren't sleeping well (one of my other areas of expertise), that WILL affect your cravings; your body tends to crave junky carbs, sugars when it is over tired. Noise in the night absolutely could be affecting your quality of sleep. BTW, I don't know if I really mentioned this before, but I believe it is something that got programmed into our heads that actually hurts us: the eat-every-5-hours thing. Breakfast 'time', lunch 'time', dinner 'time'. And allowing snacks between, but clinging to those acceptable time periods between meals. Grazing may work for some people, but for me it ends up making me think about food too much and get sick of it, and THAT'S when I make bad choices. We get to work at 9:15am daily. We set out the jewelry, meanwhile, I've taken my butter out of the fridge so it will be spreadable. Sometimes between 10am and 11am, I make and eat breakfast (sometimes a little later). I realized not TOO long ago, back when I was having the lunch crisis, that sometimes, I'm actually hungry again by 1:30 or 2pm. So, instead of 'snacking', I allow myself to eat lunch, no guilt because it's only been three hours since I ate breakfast, and I'm good and full. And THEN, I'm totally satisfied until dinner, often around 8pm. I end up eating LESS than I would have if I'd had the snack instead and had lunch too later. Then, I eat a good dinner, brush my teeth and work on the rest of my water, and am usually FINE and not hungry. EVERY once in a while, like if I can't sleep I'll get hungry again, and I cannot sleep with a grumbly tummy. I have enough trouble sleeping anyway. That's another thing: when you sleep, your body goes through a mini hibernation where things slow down, which is why you don't wake up starving to death. Transversly, if you aren't sleeping enough, you aren't going to have the same amount of time cut our of your day where your hunger 'hibernates', so you actually ARE hungry. Which is a big reason, by the way, why insomniacs and people who don't sleep enough tend to carry extra weight. So, one of the best things you can do for your weight: get a proper amount of sleep (anywhere from 7-9 hours for an average adult; my perfect sleep amount is 8hrs 15min). If you are an insomniac, get help. I made a thread a while ago in the lounge about sleep disorders and stuff like that. I may go bump it. |

Karen ~ I'm glad you are beginning to enjoy them! It is funny how bigger tatas can make your waist look smaller, like Dolly Parton says....it's 'cause nothing grows in the shade. lol
I've been junking it out lately with study fuel so until finals are over it is a sugar train for me...... I weigh the exact same as always still though, I'd like to lose about 5 or 7 lbs still and DEFINATELY tone up some this summer

Ok here are my movie reviews for today!
Reign Over Me: Adam Sandler is a brilliant actor! It also stars Don Cheadle, Live Tyler, Jada Pinkett Smith, and some other guy I can't remember his name. Ok, so I was worried during the first 20-30 minutes that this would be his worst film to date. Then, BAM it becomes the best movie that he has ever starred in. Adam has brought out his serious side and portrayed him not only as an excellent actor but human as well. Grab your tissues ladies, I couldn't hide my tears in the end. I give it 5 Lindy Stars. Rendtition: One of my favorite actresses, Reese Witherspoon is in this movie. It is was a great start. I was interested during the whole movie. I don't know what to say except the beginning is very important!!!!! It is a key in this phenomenal movie. It does make you wonder what is our government doing. No kids allowed under 13, but only in a couple of parts of this film. I give this movie 3 Lindy Stars. August Rush: OMG. This is a movie that will move you to tears. It was wonderfully written, produced, and directed. I can't write anything or I would give away the movie! Oh, but you must rent it, well I would suggest just purchasing it bc, it is that good. This film is a Lindy 5 Star! American Gangster: Oh if you are a Denzel fan you will love this movie. He is considered the gangster. It is filled with nudity, and drugs so keep the kiddos away. He is a drug lord in this film! I knew he was an excellent actor but this puts some of his other movies to shame. I give it 4 Lindy Stars. No Reservation: If you love to cook, like I do then this is the movie of the year! Catherine Zeta Jones plays the lead role and head chef. She inherits her niece when her sister dies. This is a great movie, you may need tissues for all of the lauging and crying you will do. This is NOT a movie to RENT. You MUST PURCHASE! This I rated as movie of the year witha phenomenal 6 Star rating on the Lindy scale. Well, that is it for now. I think I will start posting my reviews in another thread after this really long one. Good luck on your movie selections. Let me know if yall want to see any movie but don't want to rent it without a normal person reviewing. |

Busy day today!
Tammy - sorry you are feeling discouraged. I had a day a/b 2 weeks ago when I gained 4 lbs overnight and I realized I was eating WAY too much sodium - I bet that's it. And even w/ the Atkins, maybe you need a "No eating after 8pm" rule (or whatever time is a couple of hours before bed for you). Lindy - you're eating so well. Karen -glad the tata's are feeling/looking better. What's DH thinking? You don't have any restriction from that kind of workout do you? Steph/Christie - PLEASE post pics - I want to see the 1/2 sized Steph, the MILF shirt, and Karen's tata's - LOL! I'm wearing my short shorts this weekend for Hannah's party so I'll post pics, too. I wore some last weekend and felt so pround of myself. But I went to the IL's and no one complimented me. DH says it's b/c they're jealous - his mom has put on 40lbs in less that 3 years and his sister has gone from size 0 to a fat person - and probably put on 30lbs in 10 months - and she's only 5'1". OK - I'm being ugly, but you can't eat whatever you want whenever you want and not exercise and expect to be small. |

Lindy~ Good job on eating healthy! YAY for not giving in to those aweful cravings!!
Karen~ I still need to post more of a "body" shot. I edited my body out of most of those pics on the baby thread because I thought I still looked too fat. Oh, and I want to see a pic of you in your shirt! LOL about tata envy! Tammy~ You are doing SO WELL!! Please do NOT get discouraged! I agree with everyone else, you've been totally sticking to the plan so it HAS to be the sodium. Keep doing what you're doing! Be proud! Kelly~ I will SO compliment you when I see a pic of you in your MILF shorts! Kayla~ Hey, at least you can eat naughty and not gain. I wish I could do that. My metabolism SUCKS, so for me it is all or nothing! I still think you're a MILF, whether you tone up/lose a few more pounds or not! Ok, girls. I stuck to my points today and came home from work and got my butt on the treadmill! YAY for a workout! I must have put my big girl panties on. |

I forgot my good news for the day - my pants were not too tight. They weren't goal pants or anything, but the last time I wore them (6 weeks ago) I had to wear a girdle and I couldn't breathe - today they were comfortable. So I went in the upstairs closet and tried on some more clothes - I brought 4 more pairs of pants down - they are still too tight, but the last time I tried them on, I couldn't even pull them all the way up, now I can button and zip them (but they are too tight to look good)

Tammy - I'm in 18's right now (some 20's). I'm waiting for my sis to go down another size and give me hers.
Soo I went up some from my Wed. weigh in, but today is my official, so I only lost a couple oz. better than gaining though. I had supper at my mom & dad's...Jambalaya and home made mac-n-cheese. Not so healthy huh. New day...I have some Weight Control Oatmeal for Breakfast, Spaghetti for lunch, and we will either have some ribs tonight or cornish hens. Not sure just yet. EDIT: WHAT WAS I THINKING...I DID GO UP FROM MY LAST WEEK WEIGH IN. GRRRR... |
