thanks girls, I think I'll make that lemon mousse pie. Super easy and low fat. Now for some munchy type of food. I would normally make a crab dip or spinach dip w/ bread. So I have to find either low fat versions or something else. thanks for helping me out.

kelly-I am basically following a 1200 cal. diet. Picking healthy choices and smaller portions, but all within 1200 cals. I spoke to my doctor about my wishes to loss weight and he suggested this. I use to do this with my fitness trainer. So I'm going back to the basics, it is working. This week I could have been better and it shows in my weight loss this week.

Thanks so much girls! What would I do without you all!

Steph - Good grief you sound like me. My new quote is from Juno. "Next time I see him, I'm gonna hit him in the wiener!" I am a dork.

Vicki - I forgot to tell you that you may want to add a little less than the recommended amount of milk to your pie mix. If you want it to set up thick then you may want to leave a little out so that you will have room for the cool whip and the lemon juice. I would omit a little less than a 1/4 cup from it (better to be too thick than too runny right). GL!

Kayla - Girl you don't have a pound to loose! Good job though!

Anyone heard how Lindy is doing?

Vicki, I lost 15lbs in 2 months doing that years ago when I was about 22(?). Very low calorie (1200 or so), very low fat (maybe 10gms) daily. I ate mostly fish (I'd bake Cod with molly mcbutter and I think lemon), often fresh fruit plate for lunch, and fat free pretzel twists for snacking. Don't remember too much, but you get the idea. It worked, and I was getting good foods, but I never could have sustained it! Well, obviously I didn't. LOL! And I coulnd't exercise at all b/c I had just severely sprained the inside of my foot (don't ask).

I would think the trick is to have a plan to transition into some type of regular eating pattern that isn't so demanding without derailing yourself when you get to your goal in order to maintain.

Did I mention I REALLY wanna see that 199 on the scale this weekend..... Oh a jig of glee will ensue... It was 201 last week, and I've been good, except for the doritoes and candy bar I needed the other day. And the candy bar I had today. But other than that, I've been right on track! Excercising and everything.

Speaking of which, I need to eat lunch. Subway, perhaps?

Kayla ~ Oh that made me think of one of my old favorites from Buffy the Vampire Slayer(Willow helping Riley get an 'in' with Buffy in Season 4) "And if you hurt her, I will beat you do death with a shovel."

I even have blinkies with some of my favorite movie/tv quites. They're hard to search for though.

MUST be a chapter in my book: Stephanie's favorite quotes, for no good reason.

kayla-thanks

steph-the doctor said that as my exercise increases alot high, that I will increase my cals. Basically eat less than you burn. It does work, it worked well when I was with my fitness trainer. But it is hard, you have to think out everything.

I took a flyer a/b nutrition from Hannah's dr yesterday and I was shocked at how many cals kids are supposed to eat. At 2-3, they are to eat I think 1400cals, and it goes up from there - from 14-18, I think girls are to have 2600 or 2800 and boys are to have 3200 or so. At 14, I started restricting to 1000 cals/day, at age 16 I ate 400-600/day - no wonder I'm so F***ed up these days. And I'm terrified of screwing up Hannah for life. I told MIL the other day I think I feed her too much and she says sometimes she thinks I don't send her enough - speaking of which, I better go give her a snack.

Kelly - I wouldn't think too much on it. Just as long as Hannah is getting all the food groups there isn't anything to worry about. This society makes our girls crazy and have HORRIBLE low self-esteem. Keep your chin up and don't worry about Hannah. Each child has different eating habits so I am sure she is/will be just fine!

Vicki - No problem chickadee.

Steph - LOL @ Buffy quote! I love dumb quotes. Let's see...one of my all time favorites is actually from the Angry Beavers cartoon (I love cartoons ). "...sounds like a bag full of cats gargling razorblades" or this one "What in the name of Jonas Grumby's starched khakis was that"? I just about lost it when I heard that one! That cartoon is very funny actually. And last but not least...."Urethra! I found something"! ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!

I have my own quote like that, a Stephanie original -- when someone's mobile phone isn't sounding right I always say it sounds like 'a dinosaur eating cars'.

Oh man, I have so many too! They pop into my head throughout the day and have FOREVER. It's a weird way to live. I also have a 'soundtrack' playing almost all the time in my head. I might just be insane. LOL!

OH! We should start a 'favorite quotes' thread in the lounge! That would be so much fun! Movie, tv, literary, song lyrics, anything goes! I had one like that in the diamonds website I used to moderate year ago, and it went on for YEARS!

BTW, I miss Karen. Come back, Karen.

Kelly ~ What she said. I agree. Food groups. Little tummy. Frequent snacks. Fluids. Happy, healthy girl.

Kayla~ YAY for the 160's! You go, girl! And I LOVE Monty Python!! "It's alright. It's only a flesh wound!" LOL!! I'm also a big quoter. We just watched Juno last night!

Steph~ Can't wait till you break into the 100's!!

Vickie~ YAY for a pound! You're doing awesome, girl!

Cassie~ Jaicee is on lactulose. Poor baby is ALWAYS constipated. It really does help. Ours was prescribed to us by her pedi. We fill it at WalMart for $4. Maybe you could talk to your dr about an rx for it? Hope you get some help!

Karen~ I miss you! Hope you're having a good time with DH and no kids!

Kelly~ I think you're doing great with Hannah. Keep your chin up.

Ok, I did my treadmill last night. So I've gotten in 4 workouts this week. I don't think I'm going to do one tonight. too tired. 4 is good though. I don't work Monday so I'll definitely get one in then.

Jenna - I LOVE your siggy. Jaicee is so ADORABLE! HA HA...you watch it too LOL! I love stupid movies. I am sorry that Jaicee is having trouble going. Marika did for the longest but she grew out of it. I wish that I could go and work out . YAY for 4 workouts this week !!! I got into a size 12 tonight. I was so excited. I haven't been able to get my lard butt into a 12 since high school. I am shooting for a size 8 overall but we will see.

Kelly- I think you are right, it is hard not to project our eating "issues" on our family/kids. Just focus on presenting her with healthy choices and eating small frequent meals and that sweet baby will be just fine!

I didn't meet any of my goals last week, but I'll try again this week. I did limit the Diet Coke, but that's all. Same goals
more water - less Diet Coke
no food after 7pm
4 running workouts - some extra workouts

Holy fat calories, that is a lot for a drink. I've always been one to think, OK if i'm going to treat myself to a "splurge" i'm going all the way with it ( I don't eat low fat cookies or diet soda's etc), but next time I get SB I will try the lowfat milk-I bet it tastes the same if not better.
