Cassie - Are you currently using WW? I would love to exchange recipes and especially tips for how to make them DH friendly... that was one of my biggest problems in the past was how to fill him up while still making point friendly dinners.

Irene - I am currently trying to do WW on my own, but I have not been very diciplined AT ALL!!! There is a thread here for WW recipes. I don't think it was a sticky, I will try to bump it for you. I still get occasional emails from them with Recipes, I will post when I do get them. My dh likes a few of the recipes.

Cassie - DUH! I found the WW thread - looks like there's a bunch of recipes I can try out.

Another question for you Cassie - reading back in this thread on all the tata conversation I see you've had a reduction. Its something I've always wanted to look into. I bet I could lose almost the whole 12 lbs just by chopping them off LOL!

I have a really rude question for the gals on here who have children: Were any of you overweight when you got PG? I'm TTC#1, and I'm really worried-now that I'm starting a new cycle-about getting PG b4 losing this weight. Any thoughts or stories?

This is a GREAT statement, Cass! A mantra for sure. One of the things I've said over and over to people in life who ask is 'I'm not dieting, I'm just eating well'. I don't feel like I've ever been dieting. It just SOUNDS like deprivation, and I don't feel that way.

I finally really understand what 'they' have always talked about, with it being a lifestyle change, and what that does, VS dieting to loose, and then going back to whatever lifestyle before, like flipping a switch on and off. There are so many things that change on their own that you don't really notice when you are changing big things. I start to tell people 'well, I'm not really doing much', and then sometimes, I realize how much I have done and changed. But I have to think hard to realize all the things that are different, b/c my entire mindset has taken on the new lifestyle perception about food, and what is acceptable, normal, good for me, etc.

Before, I used to have fast food a handful of times a week, now, just having a cheeseburger (no fries or rings, no soda), I feel like I'm being majorly 'bad' -- but I don't feel guilty I don't think. I can have a candy bar and be okay with that. It's like when you are heavy, you feel guilty for even BUYING stuff like that. And you can be sitting in your house alone, and feel guilty for eating the candy bar or whatever it is. I can recognize now when I eat those things that I was feeling (whatever), and accept that, whatever the reason was, even if it's just being unprepared or short on time or tiredness, so it's like forgiving myself before I even do it. It's not something to feel guilty about, just something to learn from. And after all, you do have to eat. Eating something a little bad is better than not eating. It's not like we're trying to quit heroin or something. Again, I LOVE the statement Cassie made!

To the demands for pictures: I do have people with digital cameras and computers lined up for Sunday, so I should have some for you before I come back to work on Tuesday. PROMISE!!!

And I'm going to run around to all of your houses and steal your scales. LOL! Silly girls.

As soon as I get my pictures this weekend, I'll start that thread for our pictures in this section.

SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRE Steph!

Cass- IT IS YOUR TURN TO GET IN TROUBLE!! READY HERE GOES! PUT ON THOSE BIG GIRL PANTIES!!!!......I say this only with LOVE!! okay girly you gotta stop with the food. You want to get out of those 20's then momma has to do better! Have you ever thought of talking to your family as a whole and explaining to them that yall could do this as a family and everyone lose weight? Seems that everyone needs to lose some and complains yet eats the wrong things. Yall can still get together as a family, have a great time and eat right. Your sister is trying really hard and this food is not helping her to stay on track. My dh's mom loves to cook EVERYTHING with a stick of butter and eat snacks at 11 pm at night then complains about her weight. Dh and I sat her down and talked to her about her health. It seems to have helped. She does make fun of us for eating healthy and exercising still though. She refuses to stick ANYTHING reduced fat in her mouth and will buy a seperate gallon of whole milk to avoid drinking our 1% on vacation. Silly but true. Do you think your family and Clint would respond well to a talk and a cry for support? Now I KNOW you can do this! What did you decide about the gym and have you been walking again with your co-worker??

Cassie - I think Karen has a good point and talk to your family and maybe you all can do it together and also go for walks.

Claire - I was overweight when I got my BFP so around 230 - I will have to look it up but I dont think I documented it anywhere cause I was embarrased about my weight. I also went up to 270 during the last month of my pg. I know lots of overweight women that conceived just fine.

Just got back 20 min ago from the park and my legs are aching. Just ate tuna rollups for lunch and I need to try and get my girl to take a nap for me.

Irene - Yep I went from a 38DDD to a 38D. Sooo much better! I don't regret it one bit (except when my belly sticks out further than my tata's).

Claire - I think I was 190 when I got pg.

Karen - thanks for that swift kick in the butt! My sister is doing great and she didn't eat the food, it was just mom, me & Rhylee there at that time. Telling them to eat/drink healthy is like talking to a brick wall! I've begged them to give up cokes (diet or not) and I always tell my mom about the snacks in her house and the candy!

I buy very FEW snacks at my house and they are only things that Rhylee can eat. We were raised on rice and gravy and fried foods. Now that I am not in the house we do eat other things and they are much healthier than before.

Dh is going to join a gym this week, but he doesn't want to change his eating habbits, he still wants his oreos and reese cups, but he can cause he's 6'2" and bounces from 180 to 200 and is still thin. I will not be joining a gym. Rhylee stays at daycare for 10.5 hours everyday and I will not give up my time with her. Once I pick her up, she's mine, she wants her momma. I'm not sure how I'm going to do this but one day I will. Don't forget I live in Louisiana and FOOD is just who we are. So to change is very hard! We are grilling for Mothers day and that will be fine, we often boil seafood, still fine...It's during the week when I need something quick b/c when we walk in the door at 5:00 Rhylee's hungry & Mommy's hungry. Oh and my coworker and I have not walked again. We've been really busy with meetings the last few days.

I've got one leg in these big girl panties....

Claire~ I was 174 when I got my BFP and 231 when I delivered!! Currently sitting about 179. I was 155 when I got married so I'd REALLY like to get back down there before conceiving #2!!! No more 200's for me, if I can avoid it! (in highschool I was 235-240, so I DO know what it's like to weigh that much and NOT be pregnant!) No fun - it is so much better to be healthy and happy! We are all doing what we can to get there, so YAY us!

Cassie - did you lose a ton of weight from that change? I'm a full DD right now and I'd love to go down to maybe a full C - enough to keep DH happy. What was the recovery period like and did you have any complications? I've also heard that the scarring can be pretty bad - did it take a long time to heal? Was your surgery before you had Rhylee and did you fluctuate alot while you were pg?

Thanks for sharing that with me, girls! I guess part of the fear is that it seems like all the preggo girls I know were thin first. The other part of my fear is that once I get far enough along, well I'll just pop like a balloon!
