Thanks, Bina. Everyone has been so super supportive of my quitting smoking. I really appreciate it. Mainly, though it just makes me furious with myself bc I dont' understand why I can't sit at this computer or drive my car or watch tv without having something in my mouth. And Gum only works for a while.....like just now, I got up to get another handful of popcorn...Why? I dunno. I'm not hungry. grrrr. And it's not like I'm even craving a smoke. Just something. It's like I need a darn pacifier or something.

Rhea ~ Two words for you darling: oral fixation. And NO, to me, that all sounds like WAY too much to put on your poor self at once. It's difficult to combat, and you have it coming at you from two different directions, with working on eating habits and with non-smoking.

claire-your doing great by quiting. I agree with keeping the bad foods out of the house. I have zero willpower at times, it is better just not in the house.

steph-hugs, hope you day is getting better.

kelly-that is a victory, great job walking away from the cake.

Well I have been still going to the gym, Ethan is having a tough time this week with going to the kids club. But I'm just trying to add 15 additional minutes each day, till he is fine with about an 1 1/2 of me gone. That is making the workouts stressful. But on a lighter note, tomorrow morning I have my first appt. at the gym with the trainer. I have 10 sessons with the trainer. So that is great, hopefully they will direct me the right way to success. I am truly enjoying the workout time again. I can't wait, I'm gonna do the cycling class on Thursday.

Steph- yeah, I know it's an oral fixation. I just don't understand what causes it or how to control it. I mean, at the base level it's just the dumbest thing....am I really gonna die if I dont' have something in my mouth? No, of course not.

See my biggest problem with "too much at once" is that my recent bloodwork showed my HbA1c at .03% above a non-diabetic level. Since there's no history of diabetes in my family, it has to be how overweight I am. that really scared me. So I don't think I have much choice. Gotta change things now. Of course, don't get me started on how sure I am that I can't get PG bc of my weight.....

Viki- Thanks! How exciting to meet with your trainer....I'm willing to bet you'll hate him before you're done-but that's his job, right? And yes to keeping the bad food out of the house. DH is dieting with me, and he asked me to get more peanut butter at the store (i dont' really eat it much) but bc he'll make two PB&J sandwiches after dinner, I just didn't buy it.....I'm sure he'll figure it out when he runs out.....*giggles*

I already told you girls about the ORAL fixation. lol

Vicki I am so proud of you. There is a woman at the gym that jsut had a baby and I see her with a trainer every morning when I am there. She looks like she is losing weight and I have only been there three weeks now. So that is a GREAT sign! Go get em Vicki! Your bum will be sore from getting back on the bike. Might want to invest in a gel seat. I know I did!

I had cardio boot camp today and I must say that instructor MAY weigh 110 pounds and she is a MANIAC. She has us doing sprints and lunges and planks with a basketball under our hands and jumps and suicides(if yall know what that basketball drill is, OMG!) She is crazy! It is so HARD and I am no rookie or whimp. I was so glad when it was OVER and now every inch of me hurts. Sorry for the vent but this girl don't PLAY!

I am off to the IF side to see what is up with my girls.

Karen is high from all those endorphins released from working out, lol.

I just did my 20min pilates DVD!! I am not sweating though, but it is a start and my abs were feeling it.

Vicki-I think a personal trainer is a great way to go. Maybe you will get one that is CUTE!

ya, I know I'll hate the trainer. But that is what I want.

karen-I love cycling classes. I do have a gel seat. I use to do the class 5 days a week before I got pregnant with Ethan, so I can't wait to get back in the class.

We didn't get to go out to dinner b/c we don't have a sitter so I cooked - Shrimp Bisque, Fettucini Alfredo, and dessert - I think I would have eaten less at the restaurant.

I got in 20 short minutes of cardio.

We coated a pan with non stick spray threw in some shrimp with salt, pepper & garlic powder...sauteed that until cooked then added 2 cans of sliced tomatoes. We cooked a little pasta and had that together. We also had some green beans. It was really good and healthy, but we are both a little hungry now. I may have a few sweet pickles for snack.
