LOL!

Just having known someone for almost twenty years...someone that wasn't a family friend...that I picked out myself...weeeeeeird.

I've known my friend Ashly twenty years, we've been friends since I was eleven. But I don't know, it's different with men (who used to be 'guys' ).

*sigh*

Nope, I'm getting old. I feel it in my bones today.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! You've all been wonderful. Since I haven't been to the market in awhile, I'm doing WW today and giving myself 23 points. Off to the market after PMing Vicki to stock up. I think eating healthy and working out is going to work for me and the week of, if I can't get the zipper up, definitely SPANX, I'm thinking the master cleanse and that wrap a majiggy. I know it is extreme but it isn't indefinitely and I can go back to sensible eating and working out to just get that weight off once and for all!

Mel- I totally agree that this situation may call for drastic measures and then go back to healthy after the wedding. 23 points? Ouch! I mean, I was thinking my 31 was alot, but not that much. Good luck, honey!

Melissa - I get 25 pts a day and I did 20 pts for the first two weeks...well the first week I lost 2.6 and last week only .6 ... and I was hungry! So now I am using all my points and I think I will get better results. Robin found the same thing, the closer she got to eating all her points the more weight she lost...Just something to think about. Your body goes into starvation mode and holds onto fat b/c it doesn't know when you will feed it again.

Cassie- Amen! I think there is a lot of truth to that.

Mel- Another thing I've found that helps a bit is the "slim-fast ultima" shakes. Now, don't get me wrong, I HATE living on liquid, but they have formulated them pretty well so that you aren't tummy-growling-hungry. Also, I personally consider lettuce to be zero. Zero calories, zero points. nada. And it fills you up.

Another thing I JUST learned: If you are drinking Jack Daniels, you don't get very hungry. (I had a really bad day). I wonder how many points jack is?

I am not going to let the .8lbs loss get me down. It is still a loss and that is what matters.

Vicki - WOW you are really doing great with working out.

Mel - Any time I cut the carbs out of my diet I would lose really fast but I could never stay on the diet. What I did was only allowed myself 20 carbs a day but I would eat all the meat and veggies I wanted. I would snack on pepperoni and cheese. Not a healthy way to lose and that's why it never stayed off but if you need to lose really fast it works.

Claire - STEP AWAY FROM JACK DANIELS!!! LOL I am not sure how many points are in Jack. Sorry you had such a bad day (((HUGS))))

Cassie - Hi!!!!!

Robin - Hi!

Claire - Captain Morgan and Diet coke is my "diet" drink. LOL!

Cassie ~ Good point. I actually had 25 points today...

So I think the plan at least until the rest of the week, so I can eat the fruit, god knows, Cap'n won't eat it, is to stick to points and then start the South Beach thing but also take into consideration the points, does that make sense? So 25 points on low carbs? I made dinner tonight, I did this halibut recipe that I saw on the South Beach Diet page, my first time cooking seafood and Cap'n liked it! I made this sour cream, dill cucumber yogurt for the side and it was 5 points.

Cassie- Now I'm excited for you!

Robin- Ooops, too late....

Mel- I think I understand your plan. I'm psyched you are so motivated. You are going to feel so awsome about yourself when you zip that dress up.

I actually got a compliment last night. It was so weird. And mildly inappropriate. I was talking on the phone to a (male) friend of ours, Jimmy, about the heat system in the house he wants to build (I am the local boiler Goddess). DH and I don't like Jimmy's GF bc she is an evil succubus. So DH playfully makes the comment that the succubus is a "pot-bellied-B". (she has a small frame but wears low rider jeans 3 sizes too small) I told DH "That's not nice, so am I!" And Jimmy says: "Oh no, I mean sure you have a bigger frame (I got 8 inches in height on this gal) but you definately have a better body, she really is pot-bellied". OMG! I'm so conflicted by this "compliment". But I guess I'll take it.

Claire- okay so yes I know what youmean but a compliment is a compliment. Take it and go from there.

Melissa- good job yesterday and the meal sounds DELICIOUS! I got Swordfish lastngiht to grill this week. YUM-O

Cassie- good luck at your weigh in but don't blow it at dinner.

Okay girls I am four for four this week so far. Working out like a crazy woman. At church lastngiht though I had a bowl of chili, some chips and salsa and two grandma's cookies. NOT good but I do feel pretty good these days working out so hard. I like that I am changing it up and not just running.

Christie- did you ever see the trainer or is that out now that you are ttc?

Robin- YES A LOSS IS A LOSS! Keep up the good work. Are you exercising any?

Vicki- I am so proud of you going to the gym!!! Way to go momma. Getting out of the house with the kids isn't easy I know! I struggle every morning to not jsut say forget it and stay home. Way to go~

I'm back from vacation weighing exactly the same as I did when I left - I guess that's good considering I only exercised once.
I'm so glad I started therapy and that I'm going on Monday after being around my mom for a week - it helped me not let her bother me so much and I am looking forward to being able to talk a/b it w/ the counselor.

I read for a few minutes on my cousin's computer one day, but I haven't read anymore since I got back.
From what I read then - Robin - I loved the way you were supporting Rhea. I'm also so proud of you that you can take on the role of supporting others in weight loss b/c you are committed to your own goals.

KaylaR - The last post of yours I read was the very despairing one you wrote a/b the scale never moving unless you're starving and feeling miserable when you look in the mirror - I want you to know that I can totally relate to you on that. I feel like that so often - the only time I really feel better is when I am committed to a regular and fairly rigorous exercise routine. I don't know how much exercising you're doing, and I know all the challenges w/ a baby - but I am also getting the "I CAN'T" blocks out of my head and figuring out how I can or why I don't do certain things. I hope that maybe exercise could provide you w/ an outlet for negative emotions and build your self-confidence.

Melissa - the advice and your plan sound great. I would add that for a week, or maybe 4 days before the wedding, stay totally away from sodium - no soup, frozen lean cuisines, and not a single soda. You might get a few extra lbs of water weight off, just for the wedding from that.

Cassie - have a wonderful time at dinner tonight. Enjoy your time w/ DH.

Kelly- Hey, not gaining on vacation-especially one that includes mom- is an accomplishment! And yes, Robin has been awsome!

Robin- he he, yeah, um.......You know, I learned alot on the WW website. But entering my points was driving me nuts. And calculating things. I like looking at the package and knowing calories. So, I've basically stuck with what I know-which is working great, BTW, I'm another 1lb down this AM. So I'm 1 lb away from the 6 that my ticker shows! The last time I lost a lot by changing the way I ate, I must have learned a lot. I just kinda fell back into that "diet" and those "portions". So I'm happy with my progress this week. I'm having lunch w/ my BFF in an hour and I'm giving myself a pep-talk about the SALAD I'm ordering, NOT the chimichanga. I'm gonna have to be a big girl someday and face the temptations, right?

Oh, wow-look at my novel.

Kelly ~ Thanks for the tips! I know, I stopped the soda already. Good job on maintaining on vacation! There has only been one vacation where I actually lost 3 lbs and that was when I went to China – it was so hot and humid and I stopped eating b/ traditional Chinese food is no Panda Express!!!

Claire ~ If I can zip up that dress, I know nothing will stop me from still losing! It’s crazy how that dress really kicked my butt into gear! All I think about is that dress! I went to the gym today and got tsk’d, tsk’d by this hot trainer b/ I lost my pass and had to pay $10 to get a new one and I muttered, “I’ve been looking for it for the last 6 months.” It’s been that long! On Monday night, Cap’n wanted me to cancel it b/ I hadn’t been that long, I showed him!
