Steph- Wow, that's crazy that they don't carry orange. I love orange too. That's an original, you'd think they'd have it! And on the suit--WTG! I'm sure that makes you feel so good about yourself!!

Karen- I love this thread too. It DOES make me feel good that when I've done something, I get to come and post it.

I went to the gym today and did 45 minutes cardio and did some leg exercises. I'm sore from yesterday's workout. My legs felt noodle-y(kwim?) so I bet I will be sore tomorrow too. That's good I guess!

So my goal for this week is....go to gym 3 days(Fri, Sat, and Sun) and do a little something at home. Maybe a pilates video or the treadmill/elliptical at dh's work. He will work on Mon and Thurs. I work late those days this week so we'll see I guess.

Today, DH, Hannah, and 2 nephews went to the high school. I did 2 miles on the track and ran up and down the stadium stairs a few times. I told them they need to come over every weekend and do that. I'm glad I did it this morning b/c I feel like poo now. I have a very sore throat and just don't feel good.

Didn't work out yesterday, too much going on. But I did work out this morning, 1 hour of cardio and strength training.

Haven't done the best on eating this weekend, had birthday cake yesterday and for dinner we had chili and cornbread. I could have had smaller portions... Oh well, back on track tomorrow.

Well, I have stayed under 160 and with my little stomach bug I actually dropped a bit more but I won't count that unless it stays off. Although it was nice to see 157 on the scale... LOL. Tomorrow is a big day for me.. because it is time to excercise. I want to "learn" how to run. Does anyone know a good website that teaches you how to break into it slowly.. etc..

Christie - I would love to be able to run too. I think that it would be a wonderful "mommy and me" thing for Marika and I when it warms up here.

OKay Christie I was not a runner either LONG ago...I started with power walking. You gotta really get into it and twist and swing those arms or pump the arms...Then you will work into more time each week. You can't just start running...Then once you get into better shape you start running for five minutes if you can then work up to more time each time set a goal...Say to yourself I will run until I get to that mailbox or that tree or until the treadmill says this.... Sounds silly but you have to set small goals and one day you will say wow I ran a mile or I ran two miles. Another key is your breathing...You have to get a rhythm down. You can do this! It is harder to run behind a stroller so if you can do this alone for a while that would help because you need your arms to pump.

Hey gals, I got this book and LOVE it, so I wanted to share it.

Amazon.com: Eat This Not That: Thousands of Simple Food Swaps That Can Save You 10, 20, 30 Pounds-or More!: Books: David Zinczenko,Matt Goulding

It's to help you eat better when you eat out. It goes through lots of restaurants and tells you the best and worst things on their menu.

It also offers a "menu decoder" so if the restaurant you are going to isn't specifically mentioned in the book, you can just look up "Italian" and it will give you some of the pitfalls to avoid.

I've got it in my car, so when DH and I go out, I can look up where we are going before we get there.

Hey Kelly,

Why did you have to get a steroid shot? Are you sick with a cold or something?

Karen- Thanks for the ideas. I will check out that website in a few. I did walk tonight.. around the block (apx. mile maybe a hair more) in less than 20 minutes so that was a start. I jogged a few times just to get my heart rate up. YAY for a start!

Christie, way to go on starting!

I couldnt go to the gym today because of the snow so I did a cardio and strength training video here.

I read the other day that Kelly Ripa does 250 push-ups per workout. I love her arms, and arms are something that I really want to work on so I am going to start working on doing more push-ups. I did 20 today (ouch!) and I will continue with 20 for a week or so and then do 30 and so on. Not sure I will ever get to 250 but we will see.

Holy cow, Lisa, 250!!??!!?? I don't think I'd ever be able to do that many, either!

Ok, AF is here today and I'm feeling crummy. I know if I exercise that it will help, though so off to do some cardio I go! (before I talk myself out of it from being tired. )

Lisa-you go!! Push-ups are supposed to be one of the best exercises because it works the whole upper body pretty much.

Jenna-working out always makes me feel better, esp when AF is here you can do it!

Mere-that book looks cool, I may have to get it.

Yesterday, I felt great after my workout, but today my legs and butt are SORE!! I love it because it means I worked some muscles.

Christie - Good job exercising.

Lisa - keep up w/ the push-ups.

Jenna - great job exercising when AF is here. That was 2 weeks ago for me and I got a glass of wine and a magazine instead of any exercise.

Mere - that book sounds great - is it just a/b eating out or does it have stuff for snacking and meals at home, too? The only place we really eat out anymore is Genghis Grill - DH's cousin is the GM so we go there and eat for free every Saturday. I just get beef, TONS of veggies and rice. I need to start getting more chicken and fish and less beef. And maybe I'll go for the brown rice next weekend.

Bina - I'm sore from running the stadium stairs today. When I went to the dr, they asked if my body aches - I was like, Yea, but I don't know if it's from the exercise or from being sick.

I talked to my bff tonight. She's the one who had her baby 2 days before me. When we went to visit when the babies were 8 weeks old, she was smaller than pre pg and stuffing her face w/ cookies, while I was trying to do WW and a good 10 lbs heavier than I am now. She was telling me how even though she weighs less and her butt is smaller, she has a "spare tire" that she never had before. We were discussing how our bodies won't be the same any time soon b/c we just don't have the time to workout like we did before (And until all my babies are in school or I don't have to work full time, I never will have the 8-10 hours/week to commit to working out like I used to). It made me feel better to know that even though she's tiny, she is still fighting her post baby body.

I really want to be commited to lots of exercise and eating so much better. At my AP's house on Friday, I asked if I could look through her fridge for food ideas. She is super fit - I'm sure her arms are as big and more ripped than most of your DH's - but she still has a very feminine shape (+ Fake Boobs). She works out 6x/week and eats pretty healthy. They never eat out, but they do drink and snack on the weekends. I saw a pic of her where her face looked different and I was trying to figure out if she'd had plastic surgery, but I couldn't really figure out what was different a/b her. She told me it was taken in 1999, right before she was paralyzed for a year! Right after she had her daughter, she got a sinus infection, and when her body fought off the infection, it killed all her nerves. She was totally paralyzed - couldn't walk, talk, poop on her own. She had to learn to do it all again. She said she never really regained control of her face so she can't really smile and used to smile ear to ear (that's what was different in the picture) and she has to use her hands to help manipulate her jaw to chew. I'm even in more awe of her than I was before. And what a great marriage she must have.

Sorry I've gone on forever now - I really enjoy having a new thread to chat in a/b us, instead of what's going on in our quests to concieve/bear/raise babies (Not that I don't love that too).
