Christie-that is AWESOME!!(yes, i still say awesome). My first goal is to get back under 160.

I just ate my 250calorie healthy choice meal for lunch. Their cafe steamers actually taste good. Now I must focus on work and avoid any goodies that may around this office. Time to go fill up my water bottle again too!

Okay, I just did 100 calf raises when I went outside to smoke ( LOL!). Two sets of 50, and stretched my calves in between.

It's a start. When I used to to them, I did them in the morning in the shower, cause I could use the side wall for support. Okay, that's something.

Hey Steph I thought you quit smoking? I think on Oprah they said quiting smoking is just as hard as quiting drugs. Nearly impossible to do on your own. Are you getting help with the it? I hope you calves don't hurt too much tomorrow. It is so easy to over do your calves.

I'm working on it. The goal is the end of January. I had JUST quit last January when the $hit hit the fan, and it went straight out the window. I told Danny to pick up a carton today and give me half of it (five packs), and that will be my last. I think rather than stressing too hard about January 31st, I'll just be finished after how long or slow it takes me to go through those five packs, and then that will be that.

Oh yeah, and we also made a rule -- no smoking in the new car, so that will help him with his quitting too. And me.

Girls, you would be so proud of me. I worked out again today and it was a work day! Dh got home late, so after Avery ate her dinner she played around me while I did a workout from Fit TV.

OK, I am glad I am not the only one on here struggling - it is too bad we are all dealing with weight "stuff" BUT good that we all have each other to rely on. Right now, I am 5'2", slightly above average musculature/build, with too much fat over the top of the muscles. I am at 165.5 as of this morning.

I was one of the lucky ones in High School, never had to worry about weight, not a passing thought, I was always active, in sports and marching band, and had lots of chores around the house. I was 110 or so when I graduated, and went to college, and my eating habits went down the tubes...lived on Coke, Microwave Popcorn, Vending Machine snacks/candy-bars, eating out, and Top Ramen and Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. YUCK....so you can see how I gained the freshman 15....so that brought me up to 125, no big deal, just a more voluptous me. Then sophomore year I went through a really bad breakup with the first guy I though I might possibly marry someday....also was ostracized from our whole group of friends in the process, which all ruined my self-esteem, I turned to food for comfort.....gained another 10 lbs or so. Then got into a 2-year abusive relationship, by the time I was rid of that guy I weighed 150. Graduated and moved to a town where I knew no-one for my job, lived alone and only ate out/fast food (no fun to cook for one) and gained about 5 more pounds - dated another psycho (from work, no less) for 5 months, broke up with him, and through that ordeal gained 5 more....topped out at 160 in 2001.

I met my now DH at the weight of 160, so I know he likes me anyway! BUT I feel much better around 125-130. When we got engaged, I started the Atkins Diet - I followed it BY THE BOOK ( not the fly by the seat of your pants eat all the meat, fat and crap you want way), and ate mostly lean cuts of meat, LOTS AND LOTS of VEGGIES, and after the 2 week "induction" some complex carbs, like sweet potato, berries, whole grains. IN 6 months, I lost 30 pounds, and kept it off till after the wedding.....then we got lazy and started eating convienience foods again, and I slowly gained back 15-20 leaving me at 145-150 again. Hovered around there for about 3 years, then started TTC and got my BFP at 152.

During my pregnancy, I never had any morning sickness, and was STARVING ALL THE TIME. I truly ate for 2, though I tried to eat healthy foods 90% of the time, I did eat huge portions. I gaines about a pound a week, and was put on bedrest for the last 3 months for HBP which also caused me to put on water weight. I was 194 the day I had CJ. I lost back down to 158 in the first 4 moths, and stayed there till getting PG again, and had to stop BFing because I was too exhausted to be PG and BF at the same time....so the pounds crept back on fast....I had gained 12 pounds by 12 weeks, when I miscarried I was 170. With no nursing baby to help me lose the weight, being pretty emotional from the whole ordeal and post-partum hormones, and having been "eating for two" whether nursing or pregnant for 21 months straight, I didn't remember how/how much to eat just for me.

Since New Years day 2008 when I was 170.5, I decided I was going to record everything I ate, so at least I could see what had what amount of calories. At first I was writing it down, and my first 3 days I just ate how I had always been eating....I was eating about 1800-2000 calories a day!!!!!!!!!! YIKES, and NOT EXERCISING at all other than the regular stuff of taking care of a home and toddler. At first I just starte down-sizing my portions, and eating smaller snack-size meals throughout the day, to keep my metabolism running, and I lost about 1 pound doing that for a week. Now I am still recording everything - but usually I am around 1200 calories a day, becasue I am doing a diet. Also, I am now entering my food online, into a site called FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal - it is free and shows you the calories/carbs/fat/nutrients of many common foods, and you can enter in your own custom foods for anything they don't have listed....you can also record your activities there and it will show how many calories burned even for housework and baby-care! I tis kind-of neat to see!

So, now I am doing the 6 Week Body Makeover by Michael Thurmond (you may have seen it on TV Infomercials) - My SIL is doing it too, and has lost 50 pounds in the last year, even though she hasn't been following it to the letter! This plan is one where you get the packet of info, and then you take a test to find out your metabolism type and then you pull out the stuff from the packet that is tailored to your specific metabolism and body type ( there are 5 defined types A-E and differences for Men vs. Women, too)- here is their website where you can take a short version of the quiz or find out more if you are interested:

http://www.mybodymakeover.com/tools_...ting_quiz.aspx

I am a Type B (was Type C before I got pregnant), but my friend at work and my SIL are Type A. ( DH is a type E - go figure - highest metabolism) After losing some of the weight, you can re-evaluate and you may have changed your metabolism enough to be a different "type", enough to even modify your plan!

The very basics of the plan are that you eat 5-6 times a day, smaller potions, and they are real food, not diet food, and so you are not hungry in between. It doesn't cut out whole food groups, but does categorize foods by their glycemic index and protien types....for instance, I am not supposed to eat much red meat as it will bulk me up more, so I can only eat red meat for one meal a day - dinner, the rest is fish and poultry....also, I can't have overly processed carbs at this point, only complex carbs, potato, rice (brown or white), sweet potato, squash. Also, I can only have fruit first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Also, the main source of excercise they reccommend is walking 45-60 minutes every day, and then there is a targeted body sculpting routine with a elastic/rubber resistance band, that takes 15 -18 minutes only 2 times a week! They also reccommend that you drink only water, and about 100 oz. of it a day - that makes a huge difference in your metabolism!

So I have been really following it for a week and I have lost 4 pounds, and that is without the exercise part of the plan, AND while on my period. So I am sticking to it, now I jsut have to figure out how to work in the exercise - it is hard when you live in the stix and have no gym and it is colder than h-e-doublehockeysticks outside. My mom brought me her Yoga-Booty-Ballet tapes she has, so maybe I will try those this comig week during CJ's naptime.

I did my turbo jam workout video again tonight! YAY for more exercise. That's 3 times so far this week. Now I just need to make myself do it tomorrow night, and Saturday while Jaicee is napping. Then I'll have my 5 in for the week. And our basement is FINALLY finished again from the Christmas Eve flood, so now I also have my treadmill as a workout option again! Woo-hoo for exercise!

I didn't bother to weigh today. I went on an ice cream binge yesterday to try to make myself feel better (I know, bad habit) so the scale was a scary concept.

I'll be better next week.

But! I do have another silly cat:

Mere, that is funny!

I lost 1 lb this week. At this rate it may take forever, but I know I am doing it right.
