Fall recipes
Here are some fall type of recipes for those looking for them.
Let me know if you would like a good apple pie or pumpkin cake
recipe. I included an easy fruit crisp recipe. I love to make this, it
is very quick for the surprised guests or if you need something quickly.
I have tons of really good cake, pastry and baking recipes. Let me know
if you would like something else.
Fresh fruit crisp
1cup quick cooking rolled oats
1 cup packed brown sugar
½ cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ cup butter
2 lbs apples (6 medium) or 2 ½ lbs.
peaches or pears (10 medium)
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
Combine oats, brown sugar, flour,cinnamon, and
a dash of salt. Cut the butter in to the mixture till it
looks like coarse crumbs, set aside. Pell, core and slice fruit.
Place fruit in bottom of a 10 x 6 x 2 inch baking dish.
Sprinkle with sugar. Sprinkle crumb mixture all over fruit.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.Lightly brown on top.
Pumpkin Cookies
Cream together ½ cup of shortnening, ¾ cups granulated sugar,
And ¾ cup brown sugar. Then add in 1 egg and 1 1/3 cup canned
Pumpkin. Sift together and add 2 ¼ cups flour, ½ tsp. salt, 1 tsp.
Cinnamon, ¼ tsp. cloves, 3 tsp. baking powder, ¼ tsp. ginger and
½ tsp. nutmeg. You can add 1 cup of chopped nuts or raisins to the
mixture. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes. Dust when cooled with 10x sugar.
Spice Cake
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup buttermilk
4 eggs
1 tsp. nutmeg
½ tsp. allspice
1 cup butter (softened)
2 ½ cup flour
½ tsp. baking soda
2 tsps. Cinnamon
Cream sugar and butter together. Add in beaten eggs. Add spices,
Baking soda and flour alternately with buttermilk. Put into two 9”
Pans and bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
Frost with your favorite buttercream or cream cheese frosting.
