Default Brocolli, Dates, Corn Tortillas, and Oatmeal

So I'm trying to pick nutrient packed foods, especially those that will fulfill more than one requirement

2 Corn Tortillas can count as a calcium rich food, as well as 2 grains, if you have a brand that contains 30% of daily allowance of calcium - Is anyone familiar w/ a brand that has it?

Brocolli is a "superfood" I think. It can count as a calcium-rich food, a green leafy veggie, and a Vitamin C food. How do you cook brocolli to retain the calcium and Vit. C? I HATE raw brocolli. I usually just boil it and I don't know how to steam it.

I use dates to make Hannah's oatmeal and there is a recipe for oatmeal cookies using them. What is a date? Is it a dried version of something else? I looked on the ingredient list and it just says, "Dates."

I know how good oatmeal is for you, but I just don't like it. Is it still good for you baked, as in cookies or muffins, instead of traditionally prepared. There is a "healthy" recipe in the What to Expect when you're Expecting Book.

Kelly, steaming Broccli is really easy. Do you have a steamer basket? If not you can pick one up at any grocery store. You just put a little water in the bottom of your pot and then put the basket in and then the broccli and a lid. It doesnt take long and it tastes really good if you put some Lawrys seasoning salt on it.

Kelly at date is a date. It grows on a palm tree.
Have you tried steal cut oats. They are pretty good. I don't like my oatmeal cooked as long as the directions. The only problem in cookies is the extra sugar, it has the same nutrition. You can also make granola with oats. Yummy.

Kelly, when I make oatmeal I use it as a "base". I add chopped apples, cinnamon, a bit of brown sugar, raisins, sometimes a little apple juice, almonds, and dried cranberries. It is SO tasty! Make sure that you make it wet enough, too. Otherwise it seems like you are eating paste. I recommend you try it this way... it'll change your mind about oatmeal!
