Karen - I would definately do afternoons....but then again...who's going to cook? Uggh. The elliptical is inside now so I'd be in air condition...I know dh isn't going to do mornings either.

I don't know, I'll let him join and just do what I am doing and promise myself to get on the elliptical or something.

Cassie - When you do cook just make double of whatever and freeze or make 2 meals at once. I do that for dh and make 3 different meals at a time and freeze them, then he just grabs it and nukes it!! That stuffing mix recipe I posted ( it has other ingredient in it though) freezes really well!! I posted in the the sticky in this section.

edit:
Recipe Exchange

Tammy - Thanks! Wonder what the points value is In the afternoons we are trying to cook fast so the meals are usually pretty small with leftovers for the next day for work lunches.

If I truely knew I wouldn't wake Rhylee up if I used the elliptical at 5AM I would do it. Only one way to find out huh! She sleeps with the radio right by her crib and there is a bathroom inbetween the two rooms...I didn't hear dh doing it, but he said from the living room it was SO loud.

Ok I am DONE complaining, I WILL EXERCISE!!!!

Tammy - yeah maybe he won't cringe at the thought of healthy food either! I just need to buy a bunch of lean meat and we can grill outside everday and do some veggies with it!

Cool, Bina, PM me your address and I'll dig them up and send them.

BTW, don't feel TOO bad a/b having a splurge, y'all. I think there has probably not been a week gone by since October where I haven't had at least one meal of mexican food or breakfast tacos or a candy bar or cupcakes, or SOMETHING, and I'm consistantly loosing. So that once a week rule seems to hold up true, at least for me.

Cass, there are much worst things than fried shrimp -- don't forget, you can always pull off some of the breading if you find yourself in a situation like that. I've had fried chicken strips and stuff like that; just keep it to a minimum and it's okay sometimes.

I was thinking about everyone last night; I think it was something Kelly said. One of the BIG obstacles was figuring out how to cook for me AND Danny. Making two different meals is too much work. So, I adapted what I made to accomodate us both. I used the toaster oven more, and the frying pan less. If I made my pork chops, which I bread and fry, then saute in onion and tomato sauce, and serve over pasta, I'd have just the chops and make a veggie too, where in the past would skip the veggie with a dinner like that, and only have a spoonful or two of pasta, just for a taste. I got some of those square cheapie tupperware-thingies from the store and when I'd make packaged noodles or rice for him, I'd put the left over in the fridge and he'd get to finish it the next night or the night after . You can get individual baked potatoes that are plastc wrapped and made to microwave. I hate wasting food (and frankly can't afford it), so this was a big one for me, and the containers helped. He's not big on eating the same thing two nights in a row (unless it's one of the big-time favorites like chicken broc casserole or chicken and dumplings), but doesn't mind one of the SIDES being 'recycled' from the night before. I also started splitting things in half, like buy pre-packaged potato mix, but eyeball it and split it in half into a ziplock to make for him later. We ate the same stuff, but I went heavier on veggies, and still made him the starchy carbs. It was hard, but once I got it figured out and got the hang of it, its not too difficult.

Lately Miss Martha Stewart here hasn't been cooking ANYTHING! I have got to get back to that. I mean I still cook meals but not like I did. We have eaten out more than ever and I never do that. Pizza is on speed dial (not really but it should be) UGH! If I ever got the eating part down I would be much better but I jsut don't see me being able to eat super healthy all the time.

I am with Steph you gotta eat a bit of chocolate to survive!!! I say focus less on eating and more on exercise and you will get better with the eating as you feel better. When I am tired I eat and when I don't workout I am tired...See the chain?

And that's why you're the fitness queen, my lady.

I have a whole different aspect to tiredness with the insomnia, so I'm a bit of a horse of a different color. Did you see I did ten pushups the other night? REAL ones. Not girlie ones! I'm pretty impressed with myself. And I can feel it in a LOT of muscle groups. I've given them a two days to recover, and I'll do some more tonight. It's something.

edit: nevermind I think I now why, im still logged into tickerfactory? I see the logout buttom now

Tammy - when I click on yours it asks for a pin.

I spent a long time working on the "diet" last night and emailed it to work so I could print it - but the file is all weird so I can't. Oh well, I'll save it to my flash drive and bring it to the other computer tonight. I can remember what I'm eating today.

BTW, yesterday, I had gained 4 lbs overnight, which made me aware of all the sodium - I didn't have much sodium yesterday and peed a lot and those pounds are gone today.

Kelly - I didnt realise ( well In some way I did I guess) that sodium can pack on the pounds... that makes me aware now also. Glad to hear that your writing your meals down to keep track, that is a good idea!! I have a binder my dad found yesterday that I used to use during the 1st time I did atkins and he brought it over to me, so I will be using that starting today also. I cant wait til I have some food in the house to start. Its grocery day so there really isnt much left and that I need to make the diet work til we get stuff but i did make a good bfast. Now I just need to figure out what to make for lunch. Maybe i will just to a cup a low carb soup.

I will be getting my girl up soon to leave for the park. I like going to same time everyday with her too. Helps me schedule things better in the day.

YES! BAD! Weigh-in once a week, same day of the week, same time of day. It will give you the most consistant results. Your weight can fluctuate a lot from part of day to part of day, fluid intake, output, time of cycle, etc. I always weigh-in on Sunday late afternoon. Kelly likes to get on the scale seven times a day.

Stephanie - That is a good point too. DH has a habit of getting on the scale like 3 X's a day and I always yell at him "your not getting accurate results and your not weighing at the same time silly" LOL.

The daily report...

Yesterday I did really well until dinner time. I had a rough day w/ the boys (refusing to nap), there is literally nothing to eat at home, and DH had to work late. So he picked up a rotisserie chicken on the way home (good-- we don't eat the skin), but also grabbed pizza rolls and tater tots (bad.)
I tried to limit the bad stuff, felt guilty even having any, but I was famished and just wanted to scarf it all down. Really, I didn't eat a ridiculous amount or anything (I think I had 3 pizza rolls and a handful of the tots). Anyway, I went over my points, but have the "extra" points so it works out o.k. DH will have to come home right away today so I can pick up some groceries to cook tonight. Our fridge is pretty empty right now... I'm even out of water!
So I'm off to make a grocery list now.

Tammy, I've got a lot of atkins books b/c DH and I did it years ago. PM me your address if you want any of it (I have to go figure out what I've got.)

P.S. For some reason, I can't click on my ticker to access tickerfactory. Anyone know what I could have done wrong? I just copied and pasted.
