Default April Weight Loss

I didn't see a thread for April so thought I would start us off!

I am only .7 of a pound to being back in the 150s but I have definitely been losing inches too. More of my pants are getting too loose! If i am not PG (which I don't think I am but will know for sure by this weekend) I will be getting back to working out and hoping to lose 5lbs by the end of April. That will put me back at my pre-PG weight and then only 5lbs until my goal weight!

WAY TO GO Bina!! I hate it on one hand when my jeans and pants get loose because they don't look good but on the other hand I get so excited! Keep up the good work and you can exercise preggo or not! My friend that I jog with is almost 5 months pregnant. Her doc said just don't get your heartrate up too high so we go very slow and no hills for her. But if you are not comfortable I understand that too.

I am HOPING to get some ME time this afternoon and enjoy the beautiful sunshine with a run but I am coughing so not sure if my lungs can take a jog. UGH other wise I may ride my stationary bike. I gotta get something in. Now that dh is back! Except they have baseball practice tongiht and tomorrow. UGH always something getting in the way of ME time.

Hope you get some YOU time in Karen, you deserve it!! I definitely plan to get exercise by walking when PG, but I'm hesitant to start a new hardcore workout schedule since I haven't been working out consistently, kwim?

Bina - that's great!

Steph - My attitude a/b that is Why the F--- would I pay another dr. anymore $$$ ever again. I went to my old pcp when Hannah was around 4 months for ppd - she told me to get some me time and go to therapy. I found my own ways to deal w/ things and let go of all the anger I had. Then I went to the ER b/c I thought I was having a stroke and they basically patted me on the head and sent me home. Then I followed-up w/ a new dr who did the same thing. I went back to her yesterday b/c I thought I had strep throat and she basically thinks I'm a hypocondriac (sp?) I wish I could see Hannah's ped - she actually takes the time to listen to people. I love my OB, but I need a reg. dr. who listens. Bina - you don't know one do you?

Kel ~ I DO know how degrading and frustrating that is...I don't know if you remember last summer, when I was basically one big anxiety attack, I had a few go-rounds with different doctors trying to get help. They all wanted to shove prozac down my throat. No thank you. It was really, REALLY disheartening and I had to fight and claw and do some of my own self-doctoring (and self medicating), but I finally did find a doc who listens to me. Actually, she’s not even an MD, she’s the PA at a family practice right by my house. But I love her. She listens to me, gives suggestions, EXPLAINS things to me, gives me things to research, RESPECTS my need to research my own care and not just pop pills blindly. I went in yesterday just for the check-in, and she probably spent 30 minutes with me. Talking. Listening. Didn't do anything to me at all; it was really just a status check-up. But she spent that much time with me.

It was miserable when I was all alone and in a health crisis, and wrong of the health care system…but I finally found a good one. You are important. If Hannah didn’t have a good doc, you’d keep looking, right? Well, her having a healthy momma is just as important. I encourage you to keep looking, as budget and time provides. Write down symptoms and feelings, etc. Of whatever. Do your homework. Write down thoughts and questions. And you'll know the right one when you find him/her.

Don’t tell any of them I said this, but in my experience, most ER docs function like idiots. They have too many patients, spend no time with you, and will not listen or explain anything, and the staff is completely disconnected from each other, so things take so long and no one’s on the same page (likely has more to do with how the hospital is run than the actual doc, buuut…). They tend to be terrible at explaining things. So, for goodness sake, don’t let that discourage you from finding a GP for you. You’re important.

Well I posted in the other weight loss thread, but I figure I will post here too.

I am trying my best to lose weight. I want to be a little smaller than I was when Dh and I got together.
I have lost 3lbs so far. I am going to weigh again tomorrow. I hope I lost a little more this time. I don't really have a worout routine set, I just kinda do what I can, when I have the time.
But, I do some type of workout everyday. I went walking, did crunches, and lunges today...so I'm pretty proud of myself.

Well I gotta go finish up dinner. Talk to ya'll later

I'll try and keep my updates about weight loss to once a week, so you don't get sick of it BUT I just had to post that today I weighed in at 159.6 so I am BACK in the 150s!!!

There is a baby shower at work today so that means there will be CAKE, and tonight is mom's night out for happy hour so that means more food to avoid, so wish me luck.

Kelly-I will pm you later today on the Dr. info.

Bina I go up and down through out the day and then I weigh one day and I am up and then next I am down so it really is good to weigh at the same time the same day once a week to chart progress...BUT we all get onthe scale more than that so tell us whenever you want. GIRL we don't care! We get excited with you!!!! WOO HOOO to the 150's!!

I got in a run yesterday even with my cough..I couldn't stand it anymore. Won't be able to today though since I worked on bunny costumes for the school play all morning and crow costumes...UGH. Now I have to shower run to Johnson City pick up Riley's glasses and contacts that are both in!! YAY Then work at church this afternoon from 2-7. Then when I get home I have to pay bills...SOOOOOOO that doesn't leave alot of time. I am trying to figure out when I can go to the grocery store....

Well, if you don't go to the grocery store, you won't have to worry about what you eat, huh? There, new diet. It's called 'too busy to eat'. LOL!

I can't find a good '60lbs and still loosing' type blinkie. I've got the '50' one I have up now, I've got a '70lb' one, and an '80lb' one. Anybody seen anything? I have a kinda plain one, but my other ones are cuter. And since that's the next milestone, I'm looking...

Speaking of which, I had a whataburger last night. But that was all. Plain with cheese and bacon only. Actually I think it was the bacon that I wanted. It's been my craving thing for the past week. I've been making BLTs, except without the L or the T. Heh. Just 5-6 slices of bacon (I microwave it on a bunch of ppr towels to soak up grease) and then put it on whole wheat bread with miracle whip. Yum. And fruit or whatever. And I'm craving chocolate again. I guess I've kinda decided that as long as I keep it under control, but be okay with having something kinda bad not more than once every week or two, it's better than spending four days thinking about chocolate, you know? On the upside, I have been eating lots of fruit. Blackberries, strawberries, bananas, nectarines, pears, oranges...So that's good.

BTW, what are our feelings on V-8 juice? Not the fruit blends or any of that stuff, but the regular kind? Do we actually believe that it gives you a full serving of veggies? In a way that is real? I dunno...seems too easy...

I just did my 30 minute elliptical workout, per the running schedule. I'm so ready for bed.
And let me just say, it took me a full week to be able to get back into WW, but I am glad I did. Tonight, I had a "pig out," but in reality it wasn't bad at all and I just used 4 of my flex points. I made some nachos w/ my leftover taco meat ( 1/2 turkey, 1/2 beef, plus shredded carrots cooked in there), some light velveeta, and baked chips. I'm full, but I'm glad I don't feel like a fat pig.

Bina~ YAY for being in the 150's! How exciting! I really need/want a digital scale!

Kelly~ glad you got to pig out in a healthy way! Those nachos sound so good. Now I want to make some...yum.

Girls, I have been SO GOOD this week! I've been sticking to a healthy diet (basically ww points) and I've already gotten in 4 good workouts this week! Last night and Sunday night I did my abs, arms, and treadmill, and the other two nights i've done turbo jam. I'm REALLY hoping for a big loss this week. I guess I'll check things out on Sunday like usual. YAY for all of us being good!

WAY TO GO JENNA! I bet you are the BIGGEST loser this week. I would be eliminated if we were on the show. I have been AWFUL. No workout time and not eating so well. I had choc cake lastnight... A fat kid LOVESSSSSSSSS Cake.

OKay so in all seriousness...I have been sick all week and coughing me head off so there has been no way I have felt like working out...I did run two days ago and thought I wouldn't make it....SO I haven't tried anything since. Maybe I will ride the bike later...AFTER i do all my chores.
