Pizza or 7 layer dips are good, but the salsa and cc is soooo easy. And you'd rather put work into something else.
Can you post the pizza kip recipe?

I think Kelly is right. A little salty snack is in order. You might not even need the cake with the other sweet things. A very managable spread I think

You are right. The pizza dip recipe is super easy though...

Ingredients:
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, at room temperature
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 cup Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1/2 cup green pepper, finely chopped
1/2 cup red pepper, finely chopped
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder; spread over bottom of a greased 9-inch pie plate. Combine cheeses; sprinkle 1/2 over the cream cheese layer. Top with pizza sauce and peppers. Sprinkle with remaining cheeses. Bake 20 minutes. Serve with chips or breadsticks

I normally add in chopped pepperoni and sometimes mushrooms but leave off the onions and peppers as some people don't like them. But it is VERY good either way. And oddly enough we serve it with tortilla chips the ones called dips. It is so GOOD~

I LOVE pizza dip. It is always the first to go at our Christmas Eve party. Yum!

Look at it this way.. the fruits, veggs you will already have cut up, just put them out. The chicken salad and cheese ball thingy you can premake so really if you do a dip you can just put it together earlier and pop it in the oven before the party. No prob!

UGH I am not doing the pizza dip. JUST got back from the grocery. Dh had to work late so we ate late and I got going to the store late. It is so hard to entertain with kids. Back in the day I would have thrown it together no problem but now NOT so easy with Carter home for the Summer and Riley into everything. But I will get it together. I got the chicken salad made, dip for veggies and cheeseball is together and setting up. So tomorrow I have to cut up all the fruits and veggies and arrange all those and bake the cake. I still have to decide on the pizza dip if I have time. I still have to vacuum the whole house, clean bathrooms, mop, dust and everything in between. Too bad dh can't be here to help. If he could watch the kids I could fly through it but instead i have to watch Riley every step and re pick up everything she drags out..Feed them both change diapers...Ya know the drill. I am trying to still make my 9:30 cycling class so we shall see. Oh yeah and did I mention I have to clean the windows on the main floor? Yeah and let's not forget cleaning the den and playroom. Yes the playroom. I can tell Carter to do it but that means things thrown everywhere...So I have to go down there and do it. Oh and dh says he will be home early but him and Carter have to get their hair cut at 3. SO that leaves me with the baby and trying to get myself ready...And the party lady will be here at 5! Sorry for all that complaining. I am so regretting that I am doing this. I think I am going to have a BIG crowd too. That is what I get for being nice to everyone.

I understand for me it just depends on the party... my aunt asked what she could bring to Nathan's birthday and I was like just showing up is great. I am going to host a end of summer potluck party for my moms group. Now I will have people bring stuff for that.

Karen, can you call a teen girl from church to come to your house? She can watch Riley & Carter while you're working? I've had to do that when I'm working on a project at our church. It helps immensely!

Pam that is a great idea in fact I had told my husband this morning that since he was unavailable that I may have to do that today to get this place straight. I have a girl in the neighborhood...I am going to call when I get back to see if she is available. The weird thing is dh is ALWAYS available because he has a flexible but this week his boss is here so that makes this extra hard. I am going to get this done though! And dh even mentioned something about a glass of wine and the jacuzzi tonight after it is all done. Sounding really GOOD!!

Party went GREAT had a good turn out. 10 ladies so that was good. Managable size group so it was fun. They didn't all leave until pretty late. How we didin't wake the kids I am not sure. Darren watched the kids downstairs and anyone who brought their kids. He did great. We didn't even know they were here. Lots of laughs and good fellowship made all the stress so WORTH it! Thanks for the help ladies. We can put this thread to BED!
