Claire - If I remember correctly, the amount of time for the increase is less the farther along you are. Once you hit about 8 - 10 weeks, the numbers actually start to decrease. I think I posted an article about it in the 'What's normal and when to be concerned' thread.
Stacey - That's a beautiful blob!! Krissy - Did she check you internally at all today?? Maybe it's a sign that things are starting to progress?? |

THanks for the prompt responses! They don't do internals at my doctor until you are overdue. So, no, they didn't check me. Yes, I have been having BH contractions, but I have been having them for MONTHS, so there really is no change. I am actually wondering, after having thought about it some more, if I might have cut myself shaving. I can't see what I am doing b/c my belly is so huge, and I did shave my binkini line this morning. I tried to look with a mirror, but it is just really hard to tell. I think I will just wait. It was a VERY small amount of blood, and my doctor is open for another hour, so I think I am going to wait to call for awhile and see if there is any more blood. I sure hope it is because things are starting to move down there! Thanks again

Krissy- the morning I had Dominic was the morning that I woke up to red blood. I was internally checked three days before and had brown spotting the two days before. I called the L&D at the hospital b/c the doctors office was not open yet and they told me to come in and get monitored in the triage room. I ended up having dilated another cm since the last check and was having regular contractions so they admitted me. The rest is history. I would call just to make sure.
Jen- I'm off to check if you posted your u/s pics. Stacey- congrats on seeing and hearing the HB!!! He/She is a beautiful blob. |

Hello everyone...
I was so used to everyone in the TTC section of the forums but now I have to switch over. I took a HPT last night (even though it was 2 days prior AF)...It was the longest 3 minutes of my life. BFP!!! We are sooooooooooooooooo excited! I have my first doctors appointment tomorrow but they are going to confirm my PG and refer me to a OB since my primary doctor is only a GYN. |

Hello I posted this over on the TTC side where I am now, but I thought this would be a good place to go too since everybody has been there done that. So here is my post:
Good morning! I have a couple questions. First: while getting ready for my shower last night after my bike ride I noticed my bbs looked funny. Upon closer examination I noticed I have tiny red veins really bad now on the sides and also places that looked slightly bruised. My stretch marks also looked darker. I do not remember bumping them up against anything, and I did have a mammogram beginning of the month, but I just noticed these changes last night. I asked my husband if he seen it too or was it all in my mind. He said he could see everything I showed him and my left boob was swollen a bit and there are white bumps that weren't there before around nipples. They are a little tender to the touch. Could it be from the mammogram? or something worse? Second question: I'm on a 25 day cycle and my AF is supposed to be here Monday. So I am on 10dpo today. Should I get a test or do you think I should not worry about it. I tried doing searches for causes last night on the internet and all the links referred to pregnancy. I just don't want to get my hopes up to be crushed. PS: I have been having a lot of hot spells this month, and been feeling body aches past couple of days. Maybe I'm just getting over a little chest congestion I had last weekend. i know I'm going on, but I'm just nervous. Could this be it? I hope so!!

Jilly- I posted this over in TTC, but thought I'd let the preggo girls see too:
Jilly- Yes, those sound a lot like early PG bbs. However, it wasn't until I started charting that I realized that I get sore bbs during my LP, PG or not. The LP and early PG have a lot of common hormones and therefore produce very similar symptoms. HTH. I agree with Rac, though-I'd wait to test. Krissy- How you doing today? Any more blood-ish kind of stuff? Kanieka- Congrats again and welcome. Ugg, so my latest weird thing is feeling fine-until I START eating .Then I just feel like-ICK and can't finish whatever I'm eating and get a little queasy. I'm not too upset, bc it's good for my weight, I just hate wasting food-LOL. |

That's how I was. I wasn't sick until I wanted to eat. I would just eat some cheezits really slowly until I could handle an actual meal. I actually figured out that it was because I was hungry and started eating little bits all day and even at night. A couple of cheezits, some fruit. half a peanut butter sandwich. It was once my stomach emptied that it got hard to eat.
Krissy-Updates? |

Well, I watched like a hawk, and no more blood or other signs? I don't know what to think; I guess I will just keep my fingers crossed that it was a sign of things to come...soon, hopefully! I still look really swollen, which is wierd. The Dean comes to evaluate my class today, and then I am done with my tenure eval's, so Ely can feel free to make an appearance anytime after this mornings class!! Also, I found out yesterday that my maternity leave is better than previously assumed. I will not have to come back until the Spring semester, which means I will essentially get 3 months (because of Christmas break being in there!) Awesome! The adjunct instructors will just cover the entire second half of this semester for me. YAY!!!! I am not nearly as concerned about bf'ing now, as he should be doing really well by the time he has to go to daycare!
Congrats, Kanieka! Welcome to the pg side! Jilly--I have absolutely no idea; but good luck figuring it out! Im sure everything is ok! Claire--I am with Amber; I got SO much more queasy if my belly was empty. I kept crackers (or a muffin, since that was all I could eat for awhile) next to the bed, and in the morning I would eat a couple of bites before even getting up. It was awful choking down those first few bites, but it really did help. For some reason, if my belly got too empty, it was actually harder to eat? Seems like it goes against common sense. Also, if I felt queasy, I would try and force something down, and usually it helped. Anything with cinnamon (cinnamon muffins, for me), or ginger is supposed to help calm that queasy feeling. Good luck; and try to remember that m/s is actually a good thing! It means you've got a sticky bean in there! Heidi--Good luck at your appt! Keep us posted, and make sure and take good pictures at the shower! I, too, hope that Ely is here by the time you return, but I am starting to think he might want to stay in there for a few more weeks! It is so wierd; with all this fluid, they have had me set on an early delivery for so long (and for so long I was paranoid about it being TOO early), and now here I am at 37 weeks and he doesnt seem the least bit interested in coming out! Well, I'm off to work, and then going to Barnes and Noble. I talked with a girl yesterday who had an all natural, no drug birth (24 hours and 15 minutes), and she said she didn't think it even hurt! I asked her what she did to combat the pain, and she recommended "Hypnobirthing". She seemed pretty positive that that technique is what helped her not feel so much pain. Well, sounds good enough to give it a shot. After all, I am just waiting around, anyways, might as well read ANOTHER book! |

Rhea- I get neauseous everytime after I eat. I am used to it now and since I know I won't puke, I just finish my food.
Well tomorrow is my 30th bday!! I will be leaving for a women's church retreat this afternoon and won't be back until Sunday sometime. I hope you ladies have a great weekend! |

Good morning everyone...
I waited to upload a picture before I came back over. The picture is from back in February but its one of my favorites so I decided to use it. I am so excited about everything! I hope I have a smooth pregnancy As I mentioned before, I will be going to the doctor but I just wanted to know if there were any eating tips that anyone could give me? Also, I would like to know when it would be appropriate to inform my job of me being PG. I look forward to the next 9 months and making such special bonds with all of you here. Thank you for all of the warm welcomes. CT is the BEST!!! Last edited by Kanieka : 09-26-2008 at 04:16 PM. |
