Boy it's quiet in here today! *yawn* It's beautiful here! The weather is much cooler. I love it! Does anyone remember when you felt your uterus hard and poking up over your pubic bone? I can't remember! I haven't been pg in over 5yrs..... but I do remember I started to show when I was 8w pg with DS.

Claire - I don't think I noticed. At about 28 weeks, I looked down & had a belly...before that I wondered how the Dr knew where to measure it at checkups.
I just read that Jackson is going thru a growth spurt and I can tell. I am starving all the time now! Speaking of, I need to get me some food now!

I have to laugh at you, Jen. LOL that you didn't know how they were measuring until 28 weeks! I started showing just a bit around 8 or 9 weeks, but by 15 weeks I definitely had a belly! I popped right out, and now I am sure wishing that I would pop back in just a little
I am a little worried that maybe the baby is turning (not good; he was in the perfect position). I have had a lot of pain in my belly the last few days, and at first I just thought he was growing (I feel like my belly is full of bricks!) But today, I have felt kicks in different places than usual. And he is not moving quite as much. I hope he stays in the right spot! Amber--You awake, yet? Claire--In a strange way, I hope you feel like crap today! That way you won't have to worry so much--it is so wierd how being nauseaus can actually be comforting. So, we chose a pediatrician yesterday (finally!) I have been pretty picky about it, and I wanted to choose someone who was going to be very supportive of bf'ing, just in case I have trouble. He actually showed me a study that showed that the single most influential person in whether or not you are able to nurse successfully is your husband! Followed by you, second, and third was your "support team" which included your doctor and rest of your family. I was surprised that #1 was your husband. I made sure to talk with DH last night, and explained to him how important it is to me to make it work, and asked that he never say anything along the lines of "just give him a bottle". I think that is probably why husbands are so influential; I bet that many of them try to "fix" the situation when mom and baby are having a hard time establishing milk by suggesting a bottle. We also gave away all of the samples of formula that people and companies have given us over the months, so that it is not such an easy option. Well, hopefully everyones day is going well! |

I overlapped posting with some of you.
Claire--Unless there is a problem, I think they usually make you wait until 12 weeks for an u/s. But, sometimes they will do an internal one earlier. It just depends on the doctor. If I ever do this again, I think I would like to wait until 12weeks, just because the early ultrasounds that I got actually just made me more nervous. It is wierd, because you can't necessarily "see" much in those early ones, and so I was scared b/c you couldnt see his heartbeat at the "average" time. If I had just waited, I would never have known that! It would have saved me a lot of anxiety. Amber--fantastic and disturbing is SOO right on! |

Yes, thanks for checking. I'm temporarily awake. This weekend is gonna be the longest ever though. Our childbirth class was going to interfere with our moving so I got into an earlier class. I'm working friday night. Get off at 7am saturday, go to class 9am to 4:30pm, take a *short* nap and go back to work at 10pm. Then my shower is sunday at 1pm which leaves like 3 hours to sleep before, but I'm off that night so i'll have time to recuperate before I go back in monday night.
Ick. But On the bright side I finally left my boss in a pile of trouble(i had a ton left to do and just left it there, and went home) and then she looked on the computer and realized I've been doing my job way faster than home office allots hours for. Like 11 hours of work in 7. So she finally sucked it up and lightened my workload by like half so i'm breezing through. It's nice. One of my coworkers popped last week. Now we have one due every 2-3 weeks until january. lol. It's gonna be like dominoes. I hope the prepared to lose 14 ppl for 6-8 weeks each in such a short amount of time. LOL. |

Claire- Sometimes they do an early U/S to help them date the embyo/fetus more appropriately. I had an early U/S with my girl (at 5wks 6dys that's how they new I was carrying twins) and I am supposed to have one on Monday. I will be 6wks 3dys then.
Krissy- Yeah, I forgot about your fluid issue? How is everyone today? I just scheduled an appt. for a breastfeeding class for next month. My doctor recommended that I go to atleast one of the classes since I am going to try to breastfeed. |

Krissy-I can believe that about DH and breastfeeding. We've been having lots of discussions about it. DH was hestitant (I think he has issues with the baby breastfeeding and then with us having sex knowing the baby uses the breast etc) but he also mentioned how he wants to be involved and help with feedings. So we have really been going back and forth on this issue. They did talk about it in birthclass this week which helped as it showed the benefits so now DH is swaying back to may be we should try. He utilimately says it's my choice but I agree that we need to make the decision together. Oh and he's concerned that since it is a diffcult process it will put too much stress on me and doesn't want to see that either. So as of now I'm really sitting on the fence about what I'm going to do.

Christie-I have thought of that as well. In an ideal situation I'd love to pump/bottle feed and breast feed during the day. This way DH could help out with evening and night feedings. And also allow us to have others feed her if needed while I'm off on maternity leave. I definitely don't plan on continuing once I go back to work in 3-4 months as I know with my schedule it will be difficult to maintain. I just feel like if my heart isn't completely into it then I may not give it a good effort and give up right away.......which leads to me to do I even want to try it? A lot to think about and consider.
