Jess--I LOVE the name Evie! So cute! William was on our list, too; DH liked Liam and I liked Will. Both are great!

Kanieka--I ate a lot of fruits and veggies between meals, but also you can snack on soda crackers, or muffins (I ate a lot of muffins; I figured they had milk in them, and since I got blueberry they were also full of fruit) I also eat a lot of yogurt and applesauce between meals. I have been the same way through the entire pg; if I wait to long to eat I feel like crap.

Kanieka- Pop Corn. (or is it 'popped corn'?) It's filling and amazingly not too bad in calories. (as long as you don't get 'movie theater butter')

Jess- those are great names! I really like Liam.

Karen- LOL about cheese and triscuits. Seems like my only real "craving" is cheese and crackers. Any kind of either.

Jess - love the names!

Kanieka - granola bars, fruit snacks (the ones kids usually eat), crackers, cereal bars, peanuts (unsalted)- I either buy the 100 calorie packs, or use snack baggies & fill them with a single portion. I kept some in my desk at work, some in my car - it really helped when the hunger hit suddenly.

Wow, you girls seriously stole all of my ideas for snacks! I love to snack on all of those. My big one lately has been yogurt though. And I have been guilty of the popcorn this time around, and normally I hate popcorn! String cheese, dried fruit, nuts, yep, all of those! lol And I've been on a baking kick so I've been making tons of muffins and zucchini bread that I snack on. It's great 'cause they're not too bad for you and they are filling, so you aren't hungry ten minutes later. Don't worry about eating all the time though. The baby is doing some incredible growing right now, even though we can't see it yet. You have to give the baby some extra calories to grow on!

Claire- yes, the moving and remodeling does get old, but we have been able to make some great returns on our investments, which means that someday we'll be able to own the home we want with lots of land free and clear. A temporary inconvenience for a lifetime of conveniences. I just keep repeating that to myself. lol

Stacey- Congrats on an awesome appointment! We're hoping for a boy, so if you get one and we have another girl, I'll be living vicariously through you! lol

Oh, and Jeslynn had hiccups from about 30 weeks on, I swear! It was cute and funny at first, then the last 4-6 weeks were so annoying. My whole belly would rock with them and they actually started to give me "stitches" in my side from all the movement.

Yeah, I totally just got up and got some blueberry muffins.. lol

Okay, going to eat them now!

Thanks for the congrats ladies! I will be laying low for a while since I am very cautious right now.

Claire-I still can't watch any birth shows, I am a wimp. I can't even look at my arm when they are taking my blood. But when it is you going through labor, it really isn't that bad, especially if you can get the epidural

Kaneika-you are getting great suggestions for snacks and how to eat healthy, but I think if you can't occasionally indulge guilt-free when you are preggo, when can you indulge?

Jess-congrats on the girl!

Sara-my Dh isn't into consruction but we have fixed-up two houses and are looking at a third! only because it is a foreclosure so is the only way we could afford to have a 1 acre lot.

Jen-sounds like your nephew could be here very soon!

Krissy-I hope Ely comes soon.

bina - i know what you mean. for some reason I feel better about this one, where the other I just knew something wasn't right from the beginning. Sticky beans for both of us!!

Jess - I love Liam. My gf just adopted a brother and sister and they named them Liam and Sophie!

I tried to eat well, but it is hard. With my first kid, I ate McDonalds alot. I just loved the french fries, well 2 months after Bladen was born I had to have my gallbladder removed. So stay away from McDonald's french fries...eventhough now I want some - but hey, my gallbladder is already gone

My sister is coming this weekend for a visit. She hasn't seen the kids in a year, right after Reese was born. So I'm going to have to tell her I'm pregnant because she will wonder why I'm not drinking wine. I usually have a glass or 3 every so often. I think I may tell her about my miscarriage as well - I didn't really tell anyone since it happened so soon and quick.

We have an HMO for insurance and it has covered everything. And those of you that know me, Bladen has a rare disease and has been in and out of hospitals, specialists, tests, NICU. And with Reese, I was hospitalized for a month and everything was covered. If you have an HMO just make sure you get your referrals and you should be set!!

Anyhow, sorry so long....

Shannon

Jen--70% effaced sounds great! I know you can be dialated at a 1 or 2 for a very long time, but once you start to efface it means things are moving along. Shouldn't be too long now!!! How exciting!

I have been buying an all natural microwave popcorn that is REALLY good. I can't remember, but I think it is Orville Reddenbacker. Yum.

Well I'm at work and will have to catch up on posts later.

It's been a busy few days...Sunday I was laying in bed and got up & there was a puddle of blood under me...went in for an emergency sonogram yesterday and baby looked great! They said they don't know what caused it but to just take it easy. Then I met with my doctor and got in trouble for losing 4 lbs since last month, I don't know how I did that I have been eating like a piggy!

I am at the same weight I was when I got pregnant with my 6 month old and I am already 13 weeks along.

I will try and add a ticker and pics later if I can figure it out.
Hope everybody has a great day!

Stacey - Goota love these insurance companies that we have!
Yummy...animal crackers! I havent had those in years!

Also, how did you make your name art and u/s picture like that? I LOVE IT!

Im so excited about all these suggestions about all these different snacks. I think I am going to print this thread and take it with me to the grocery store this evening...

Shannon - I just had some McDonalds fries last night...I wanted some Chicken Nuggets and had such a taste for them so that was my dinner last night...Although I got the meal, I only sipped the Sprite...I felt like the sip would satisfy my craving for soda...indeed it did.

On a side note, I think I may have found a drink for those who love the taste of soda. Its a sparkiling juice and it is called Izze. It kind of reminds me of those Clearly Canadian drinks that they used to make many years ago. In case you want to check it out, the wesbite is:

IZZE Sparkling Juice. Naturally Delightful. Refreshingly Different

In case you dont have the time to look at the website, I will give you a quick summary.

Sparkling Juice with Other Natural Flavors
All Natural Flavored Juice Beverage
No Refined Sugars
N Caffeine
No Preservatives
70% Pure Fruit Juice with a splash of sparkling water.

Its sooooooo good!!! Has anyone had one of these before?

Thanks for the info on the hiccups. I actually was a little concerned because most days it happens more than once. Glad everyone else had the same experience with the baby getting them a couple times a day!

Kanieka-Everyone gave you info on snacks that I would have. I also like some of the 100 calorie snacks out. I know they don't give you anything healthy to eat but helps and not too fattening. I found early on too that I had to have stuff at my desk to eat because if I got hungry and didn't eat my belly really hurt.

I forgot one thing...

I have a story to share.

Last night I was exhausted. I came home and pretty much got straight in the bed and began reading "What to Expect When Youre Expecting."

Later on, DH gets home. By this time I had already fallen asleep. He greeted me, took my glasses off, put my book away and got himself comfortable.

Not too long after that, he comes and tells me to wake up because he had fixed me some food.

I ask him why was he waking me up to give me food.

He told me that when he asked if I was hungry I said yes. Please know that I do not remember this AT ALL!!! As I am talking to him while I am half sleep, I told him that I ate already. He then asked me what I had. I told him that I had McDonalds. Then (as always), he asked if I had taken my vitamins. By this time I was tired of being bothered so I yelled out YES and then he left me alone...ha ha ha...

What a night!

Heidi - The info was GREAT! I cant say that I have had a good 100 Calorie Snack. They arent too tastey to me for some reason...but then again, it may all be mental. That bellyache is not fun at all...I have cried a couple times cause it hurts so bad so I am trying to prevent that from happening...

Kanieka--Not to keep on the same idea, but I thought of another snack that you can get AT McDonalds--Apple Dippers. They are SOOO delicious! The apples come already cold and cut up for you, and with a caramel dip that is really tasty. Whenever DH goes through the McDonalds drive thru, I get those as a snack. They are good for you, and really tasty. Have you ever watched the movie "Supersize Me"? Seriously, it might make it easier to avoid fast food. The first time I watched it, I didn't eat any fast food at all for months because I was so grossed out! I used to LOVE Clearly Canadian; I wonder why they quit making it? I used to get a really bad tummy ache and also get nausea if I was even slightly dehydrated, or didn't eat for too long, too. Now, I don't so much get a tummy ache, instead by the time I do eat I am so hungry that I eat too much, and that is a problem when your stomache is this squished! Try to eat and drink BEFORE you get hungry or thirsty and you can avoid a lot of those belly aches.

Heidi--I definitely think it is normal for her to hiccup so often, but in a few weeks it is going to get really annoying. Last night I just layed in bed crying because I rolled over and it hurt SO bad. He is so heavy. (sigh)

Brady's Mom--HOW SCARY!! Im so glad the baby is alright. A lot of women have unexplained bleeding in the first tri, but usually it is just spotting. You must have been freaked out. Glad your bean is ok!

DH and I have been practicing the self hypnosis techniques every night this week, and I am getting much more comfortable with it. Maybe Ely is just waiting for me to be ready to do this the way I would like to? I wish I had found out about hypnobirthing earlier in the pg so that I was more prepared, but I am not too worried. DH is taking it VERY seriously, which is totally helpful. A friend
