I just wanted to post this for you ladies to pass on. I know most of us are in the U.S., but I have cousins who live in Canada and maybe you ladies have friends/family there too. This is the link to Snopes which said that this is true. There are chocolate coin candies that made their way into Canada from China that contain Melamin powder, the same thing that has made all the babies in China sick and killed four. Please pass it on. With Halloween and Trick or Treating coming up, this could rapidly become a scary thing.
http://www.snopes.com/food/warnings/coins.asp Just thought that mommies would be the best group to pass the word. They assured that the coins haven't made their way into U.S. stores, but better safe than sorry. |

Well, today makes 9 days past due. I am MISERABLE; I can barely walk, and I keep puking. I do have some bloody show, but it could be from my appt. yesterday since they stripped my membranes again. I hope things move before the months switch; that would just kill me.
Bina--Maybe this one is a boy! My grandma got sick with all of her boys, but never had symptoms with the girls. I have been sick the whole time with this one; hope you feel better soon. Kaneika--I was totally obsessed with food until abour 20 weeks; I HAD to eat or I got sick, and so I would freak out if we didn't eat on a schedule. It was probably wierd for DH, but I agree with Bina; you are going to gain the same no matter how much you eat, so as long as you are eating healthy foods I wouldn't worry about it. Hope everyone else is having a great day. I'm on my way to the chiro again, hope this is working. I could feel him moving ALL OVER the place last night; in some places I never normally feel him, so I am hoping he is spinning. I will keep you all posted! |

Thank you all for all of your encouraging words...I feel like it is a lot easier for you ladies to understand. I just hope this hunger thing goes away sooner rather than later.
I dont always eat the healthiest foods. If I dont have a taste for something, a lot of times I cant eat it. DH did mention that when I do get hungry, I dont always have to have complete (and unhealthy) meals. I just know that when I get hungry, I need to eat...PERIOD! It prevents me from throwing up. If that means having a snack, then I will have a snack. If it means that I need a meal, then I will have a meal. This is something that I feel I cant really control. I feel as long as I do a fair intake of healthy foods, whatever else I eat will be alright. |

Hi everyone!
I had my appt this AM. My stomach was still measuring at 36 weeks, so he had me do an u/s. It was good to see the little man again, but wow does he look big. He is measuring about 7.2 lbs, which is in the 65th percentile. His head is in the 95th percentile. Yikes! Hopefully things will even out before he arrives, but the arrival could be not so fun. I am about 1/2cm dialated & 25% effaced. I am kinda bummed b/c I thought I could really feel some things happening down there. Looks like I might stay preggo for a few more weeks. Krissy - I don't know how you are doing it - I am so ready! Here is a link to my brothers' blog with pics of my cute nephew. I am the one in the brown shirt holding him. I know I should respond to everyone else first, but I'm just having to vent b/c I feel SO BAD about myself right now! My belly is huge already. I mean, huge. I look like I should be delivering soon.
I haven't gotten bigger anywhere else yet. I'm eating all the time, but just bites here and there (I have the same problem of m/s hitting whenever my stomach is empty, so I have small amounts all day.) I swear there has to be more than one in there. Otherwise, I just feel like a major loser! ![]() On a positive note, my GD testing is so far going great... NO signs of gd at all at this point. I'll continue to test my blood sugar at home(I refuse to do the drink test, that's how much I hate it!), but I'm glad I'll be going to the dr. with at least something positive! |

Sarah--Don't worry; I have heard that many times people will show sooner with subsequent pg's. Im sure it will even out; you just had an early growth spurt! You may also be very bloated, which can always change. Make sure you are drinking lots of water; that may help if some of it is bloating.
Jen--I don't know how I am doing it, either. I am getting really depressed; and I am jealous that you are already dilating at 37 weeks! Unfair! Your nephew is adorable, and you still look great. You do not look nearly miserable enough to be done yet The good news is that the chiro 'thinks' that he may have begun to spin. She couldn't quite tell, and neither could I, but I feel like he is really heavy and wierd feeling; different than before, and she thought she could feel his bum in my front. I hope so. I go back tomorrow after my NST, unless I have him by then! When I left the chiro I went to the mall and walked for a few hours; hope that helps, because it was terribly uncomfortable. |

Good morning ladies...
Id like to vent... Here at Sony, we have a LOT of temporary workers, contractors, interns, etc. In my immediate department, there is one long term temp. My bosses boss has 1 long term temp (who used to be an intern) and 2 interns. Yesterday we had a meeting about headcount. We were informed that they were letting go of all long term temps company-wide. Unfortunately, we will lose our temp. He does the normal work but he also does a lot of "clean up" and clerical work. This is NOT the first time this has happened to him. He was here about a year and a half ago or so and they had to let him go. He ended up coming back when we needed help again. This time, I do not think that he would come back if they got on their knees and begged him (I know I wouldnt). Anyway, I asked about the intern turned temp. I wanted to know if she was going to be let go as well. Guess what the answer is? NO!!! This is soooooooooo not fair. They claim that she is "needed." Our temp is needed as well. Its also not fair to me that she has 2 interns and 1 temp but we are the ones that have to let our temp go. Why are we getting the short end of the stick? She complains so much about her interns sitting on the internet all day and not doing work so why are they still going to be here? It just does NOT make sense to me!!! If her temp is that good, why wont she get her hired on permanent then? I hate the game of corporate politics!!! Hopefully my day will get better... |

Nope; but thanks for the well wishes! I had a non-stress test this morning, and then went and voted. The test was good. I ran into my doctor in the hallway and he scared me. He said, "well, your baby is measuring close to 10 lbs, which may increase your risk of cesarean", but it bums me out because it seems like those estimates are usually high? Ugh
I was up most of the night with contractions in my back---holy cow does that hurt. If I get terrible back labor AND front labor AND a big baby, I am probably not going to be able to stick to my non-drug birth. I am strong, but not superman. This morning I had some show; it was not bloody, but quite a bit of clear mucus. I hope this all means things are happening. If not, I have another sonogram tomorrow AM. Hope everyone is having a great day! I am seriously getting depressed, but I guess there is not much else I can do, so I am going to go on ANOTHER walk. |

i know this is going to be a stupid question but can you do to much exercise? i go to the ymca 5 days a week and workout for about 1hr 15 min and then sometimes at night i will talk the girls and the dogs for a walk. i am just asking because when i was pregnant with the girls i did absolutly nothing. just went to work and did errands until i was put on bedrest. i figure since there is just one in there i cant gain 48lbs again!!!! darn it!!!

Krissy-Bummer. I was really hoping you were in labor. Hang in there and just remember no matter what happens (i.e drugs or no drugs) the end result is all that matters. Now talk to Ely and tell him it's time for him to come out!
Lisad-I think you can continue in moderation if you were working out prior to getting pg. I can't remember off hand but you just aren't supposed to get your heartrate above a certain level. |

Heidi - It was uncomfortable, but not painful. I have had cramps & pink CM since yesterday afternoon. My books say thats normal after an exam, but I am hoping he got things started.
Lisa - As long as your heart rate is staying below 140, and you have the energy to do it, i think it is fine! And, i've been told it will make your pregnancy easier. I wish I had been more active earlier in my pregnancy. Krissy - grrr, I was hoping you were in labor! |

Krissy- STILL no baby??? Sheesh!! He needs to get this show on the road!
You first time moms and consulting your books! I think it's so cute! In other great news..... I FELT THE BABY TODAY!! I *thought* I was feeling it for the last few days but was unsure. Then today I was sitting in my bed watching tv and I felt that "feeling" on the left side again (it's always been on the back left side, but only when I am sitting up) and I sat quietly to feel it. I waited for a few min after to see if maybe it was gas..... nope it was the baby! How exciting!!! DH was jealous. Poor guy. I told him he will be able to feel it in about another 4-5w.
