Krissy- I did the whole bd, castrol oil, nipple stimulation, everything when Hannah was two weeks late. I cleaned carpet thinking that maybe that would get things started. Then the doctor stripped my memebran on a Friday and I had her on a Saturday. She was 6lbs 1oz, so maybe she just needed the extra two weeks to grow. The castrol oil just gave me the hoots..it was not good.
Okay here is my question about breast feeding. I bottle fed my daughter but I am thinking of breastfeeding this one. I am large chested before pregnancy and I just want to know if bf will cause my boobs to sag more once the baby is not bf anymore?? |

Back--I was told that it is a myth that bf makes your bbs saggier; it is actually being pg that does that, so bf shouldn't make a difference.
Jo (And anyone else with experience on this)--I just got back from the doctor, and Ely is facing the wrong way. I remember that Dominic was sunny side up, too, and was wondering how you got him to turn? I don't have long, and since he is SO far engaged in my pelvis, there is a good chance he won't turn, but I have to try!! Any advice???? All the way through I have said , "I am going to do this naturally, unless I have back labor, and then all bets are off" But I REALLY do want to stick to my birth plan; I just don't think it will be easy if he doesnt turn! How is Dominic? I am glad you checked in--pretty soon I will see you on the baby side! Well, first I went to my sonogram, and my Amniotic Fluid Index was ok (lower than before, obviously, but still good), they said he is breathing well and his heart looks good. I didn't get to see him, because his head is so far down. Then I did the Non stress test, and the nurse couldn't believe how active he is. She said "Does he ALWAYS move this much???" When I said yes, and asked if it was unusual, she replied, "well, we just don't see many babies that are this active! But that means he must be healthy!" So, I guess that went well, also. All that means is that they will let me wait for my body to do its thing; there is no reason to induce yet. I meet with the midwife tomorrow; if I am dilated AT ALL they can strip my membranes. I had contractions last night that were 15 minutes apart (in my back---OUCH) for an hour, then they went away. I am hoping something is happening!!!!!! Heidi--of course it is up to you, but I would do some serious research before allowing them to induce you simply for convenience. It is hard to be pg forever (and I definitely know that), but the trade off's and risks are pretty serious, too. Besides; it might be fun if his birthday was on or very close to a holiday! |

Boss out sick again today...
Have to tell him tomorrow... In other news, we have a woman watching our every move and going back and saying what we are doing... For me she said I am on my cell phone and text all day...NOT TRUE! Then she said we always take an hour and a half or more for lunch. Isnt this CRAZY?!? This woman is in her 40s! Granted, I have been back late a few times but not on a normal basis. She is doing this because HR is looking at her. She takes one hour breaks and three hour lunches but when her boss called her out about it, thats when she wanted to start pointing the finger at everyone else. THIS is what I have to deal with on a daily basis...I am soooooo tired of it. I CANT TAKE THIS ANYMORE! Someone help me! Any suggestions? |

Lisa - congrats! June will be here before you know it!
Heidi - Glad Ely is happy & healthy and I hope we get to meet him soon! Hi Jo! Heidi - Glad the appt went well. I'm jealaous your insurance covers a pump. Thats great! I had my appt yesterday. All went well & he said Jackosn is "very, very low". I am not going to put much faith in this statement, but he said that he would be surprised if I make it to my due date. We'll see! I think I am starting to feel contractions...not painful, but it feels like Jackson is kind of stretching and my belly gets hard on the sides. I think I had my first uncomfortable one this AM - it was enough to make me hold my breath, but it was over pretty quickly and didn't happen again. Kinda scary. I can't remember if I posted this but my SIL is still pg. She is scheduled for induction on Tues - right at 41 weeks. I can't wait to be an aunt!!

Jen--Glad your niece/nephew is finally on his/her way! Be careful not to get your hopes up about not making your due date; they told me that at EVERY appt! And look at me, now! I wish they had never said anything, because I think that is part of what has made this seem longer than it really is.
My ticker is wrong; I am only 4 days over my due date if you go by the date my doctor is going by. |

Kanieka-I work with people like that. Since I have a crappy job i'm not insanely worried about losing it but I've found that the best way to deal with the tattling and such is to give it back once or twice. I work with a woman who actually WRITES DOWN when ppl go to break and come back, when she sees people talking, any time someone leaves their department, etc. Then every night she runs to the office first thing and tells management everything. The funny thing is that she is worse than anyone and she NEVER does any work. So one night she should have been helping me and disappeared for over an hour so I paged my boss and very innocently asked if she had put this woman in another department. Then proceeded to tell her when she left for her 15 minute break and that I hadn't seen her since.
Krissy- Glad everything is ok in there. Maybe he just needs the extra time. Lisad-Congrats on the heartbeat!!!! Well I had my appointment tuesday and all went well. Graham HATES the doppler. The last several appointments he's either kicked it or run away from it. It seriously took her several minutes to catch him. She would get it and he would take off. What a lil booger!!!! The doctor said after my next appointment(tuesday) it will pretty much be any day. So next week the wait begins. Tonight DH and I are carving pumpkins. |

I think she just meant that I would be full term so I would be in the clear. She did say he was really low but I don't think she really has an opinion either way. I'm thinking next thursday would be kinda nice. Lol. Dh asked me about having any contractions lately and when I said no he seemed a little disappointed. I do BTW think those were totally my jobs fault. I got moved and haven't had any issues since. Blah... I'm rambling. Dh is so ready for me to have this baby. I think his head may pop off by 11/19.

Krissy- here is a link to some exercises that are supposed to help turn a baby.
Cat - Cow Stretch Also, Kristy told me a great exercise to do and it felt great and got him to move. It's kind of hard to explain but here is what she said to do: "get on your hands and knees with your chin on the bed and butt in the air and have dh hold pressure on your back right above your butt crack". This was wonderful advice! Also, the nurses had me lay on my left side and straighten out that leg and bend my right leg. Somehow that is supposed to help them move as well. He still came out kind of sideways, but not totally OP. HTH!! I know how it hurts!!! |

I had an appt today as well. We also saw the baby's heartbeat and the baby is measuring a week ahead. Not sure if they will change my due date, but I'll find out in a few weeks when I have my next appt. Told my in-laws, they didn't seem too excited. I guess I should just prepare that since this will be number 3, I won't get the excitement from the previous pregnancies as most people think I'm nuts.

Jo--THANK YOU! I don't know what I would do without you girls to get advice from! I have done everything short of standing on my head today, so I will try the positions you gave me, too. I read that babies like to move their backs towards warmth; so in a few minutes I am going to pour a hot bath and get on my hands and knees in the tub (belly in the warm water), and put a cold cloth or ice pack on my back. I realize this is going to freak him out, and he is going to beat the crap out of me, but I am hoping it is true and he rolls his back towards the warmth and away from the cold? Worth a shot!
Bina, Shannon, Lisa--Congratulations on hearing the h/b! SOO exciting! I go to the midwife at 11:00 tomorrow am, I will keep everyone posted. |
