Jen--I obviously can't answer that for you, but if you have Jackson before Ely gets here I may never forgive you! (Just kidding)

Well, I do not think that I am in labor; however, I was feeling really constipated this morning, and thought I was having bowel cramps. Then, that suddenly went away while I was putting Ely's swing together, and now I am getting a LOT of braxton hicks. Nothing "timeable", but they are uncomfortable. Again, I don't actually think I am in labor, but I am really hoping that these braxton hicks are dilating me before my appt. tomorrow. That would be very helpful!

Krissy, I think at this point in time any action down there has to be considered a good thing.

Krissy when you go tomorrow you should talk to your doc about using a foley bulb to start dialating your cervix. Here is some info on that

Krissy - I completely understand! I just know Ely is going to get here before Jackson. And I agree, any action is good!

We just took a walk around the neighborhood. It's crazy how I can feel him get so low while I am walking....then he kind of moves up when I sit down & relax.

So, I totally needed a new bra b/c the one I have been wearing is now too snug with my ribs expanding. So I am now wearing a very comfy, slightly too large nursing bra...I just couldn't see buying a bigger regular bra when I hopefully won't need it later.

I just helped DH pack his diaper bag. He's so cute...he put everything in its place and picked a burp cloth & onesie to put in it. I can't wait to see him use it!

Oh, and we booked the flight for my MIL to come visit & meet Jackson. She is very sweet, but older and highly energetic. & I already know she will be telling me how to do things, even though Jackson will be 5-6 weeks old. She'll be here for 6 long nights, over Xmas. I am starting to practice my patience now, so hopefully I'll be ready by then.

Sorry you ladies are not feeling well

This weekend was so much fun! AJ and I went to a playdate yesterday, had family over for dinner last night, church today, and then went to lunch. It was very relaxing, and I got a nap in both days! Boohoo to the weekend being over

I was so looking forward to some good news this AM. Instead we have two poor sick girls and some crazy satan-spawn teens .

Krissy- Thinking good labor thoughts for you!

Jen-Glad you are feeling better.

Absolutely nothing to report here. Getting fatter by the second. I know (hope) some of this HAS to be bloat, but everything is way too snug.

I'm confused by my preggo books: does the second trimester start at 13 or 14 weeks? Or something else entirely ?

Hey girls,

I just had my 38 week dr appt. some progress - 1 cm & 60% effaced (6 days ago I was a fingertip & 25%). My dr was really pleased with my progress. So, we picked an induction date! He suggested the 13th, since he will be on call that day. So, that means I will get to meet the little one in 10 days or less!! I am very excited. and honestly, I am such a planner, that I REALLY like the idea of knowing when we are going to the hospital and to be able to tell family in advance, etc. and knowing when I am going to stop working!

I am feeling so much better from the weekend. I think I can make it thru a full week of work now!

Krissy - cant wait to hear about your appt!!

Rhea- 2nd tri starts at 13w.

I had my 12w appt this morning and everything was great. It WAS the baby I've been feeling the last 5 days or so!! The head is right behind my pelvic bone. It was hard to get a good u/s pic so there's no pic this time. The heart was beating away and everything was great. I am down another 2lbs. I did have ketones in my urine so I got a lecture about eating more often. Next appt is Dec 1st. I get to see my baby 2x in one week since the big u/s is Dec 6th.

Good morning ladies!

Krissy - I mean this is the NICEST way possible...I hope we do NOT see you today! Happy Labor Thoughts!!!

So I went to dinner for my girlfriends birthday this weekend. I have to say I was disappointed in my dinner...I ordered Filet Mignon well done...it was CHARRED!!! It was crispy when I tasted it too. It tasted terrible! Complete turn off! I was craving steak so when this happened, I tried to look at the menu and for something else. Since this was a craving, I did not want anything else so I just asked if she would just charge me for my sides and take the steak back. She ended up comping my meal. Not want I wanted BUT I was full enough from the bread, mashed potatoes and green beans.

Since my steak craving was NOT filled, I cooked steak last night for dinner...DELICIOUS!!! Earlier yesterday, DH and I made a trip to Ralphs and spent $250! When I saw the total I couldnt believe it but I am set for a while in terms of food.

Anyway, my reason in this post was to share a picture that we took at my girlfriends dinner. I feel so fat! I knew that I was big in my tummy already but boy oh boy, this is NUTS! So, this pic I am 9w2d. I wonder how much weight I have put on since my first OB appt. Im scared to know!

Kanieka- You don't look fat in the pic, you look preggo and beautiful! There are some women who pull it off well, and you are one of them. (I'm not... I bloat and look awful.) Enjoy pregnancy b/c it WORKS for you! Funny you were craving steak, so am I! I am so dying for a nice juicy steak. I told dh and he completely ignored me... guess I'm not getting any.

Chrystie- Sorry you are feeling lousy. How are the girls handling you being pg?

Stacy- I can't believe you feel the baby already! Sounds like things are going well.

Well, today I had an appt. for the dr. to look at my blood sugar chart (I'm testing instead of doing the glucose test for gd.) They ended up doing an u/s as well. I had no idea she was doing one, but she said to expect it at each checkup, so I guess I'll be having quite a few of them.
It was a very confusing appt. When I came in, she said I'm in my 9th week. Then she measured the baby, and the baby measured 11w5d. So she is concerned that I may be further along than we think, which could mean screenings are done at the wrong time if I am. So, she scheduled me for an "official ultrasound" (I don't know what that means) on Wed. Unfortunately, the dr. that I can't stand works Wednesdays, so I'm going to see if I can reschedule for tomorrow instead.
Then, she looked at my blood sugar levels. I've noticed that my waking levels start off high if I eat dinner too early. So I've started eating something before bed, and they have been completely normal when I wake up. Well, she looked, and said she wants to put me on meds in the evening to keep it low in the morning. Why do I have to take meds if I'm waking up w/ normal readings? It really frustrates me, b/c the meds have side effects and are a class B drug. They should only be taken if you NEED them. I really don't see why she thinks I need them. Anyway, she wants me to take them all this week, then I have ANOTHER appt. on Friday to look at my #s again. So, that'll be three u/s this week.
Oh, the heartrate was in the 180's. I thought that sounded high, but she said things seem fine, other than the measurement issue.

Sorry for the novel. Sheesh!

I really don't know what to think anymore. I started having symptoms at what we were calling three weeks, which seemed really early. So pushing the date up two weeks makes sense. But I had a bfn, then the bfp was four days after that, and my hcg levels were really low, so the date they had determined coincides perfectly with my lmp. The first u/s I had put the baby at 7w6d, which was just a few days ahead of the June 2nd due date (so they kept it the same.) Now, just over two weeks later, it looks as if I'm going on 12 weeks, which doesn't make sense if I calculate by menstrual cycles, but then, none of this has made sense to begin with, considering I really didn't think getting pg naturally was even a possibility.

So... who knows what is going on. Hopefully I'll get some real answers on Wednesday. The good news is, I found out that I see the tech instead of the dr. on Wed., so I don't have to dread the appointment.
