Hi Gail-welcome to this side and congrats on your bfp!! My doc does the serial beta testing as well, I kind of liked it and kind of found it nerve wracking!

Krissy-I'm sorry for such a sucky day! I hope tomorrow goes better for you guys!

Dani-yay for babies!!! Can't wait to hear your story and see some pictures--hopefully soon for you!

I'm still hanging in here. . .feeling like I'm over due since my first was born at 38 weeks--2 years ago on Monday! I posted some new pictures of her in the toddler picture thread. She is dressed up like minnie mouse since that will be the theme of her bday "party". We're not really having one except some family and very close friends. I didn't want to plan an elaborate party and possibly have to cancel it at the last minute!

Kristy--Are you starting to have some "going soon" signs? I am uncomfortable now, I cant imagine how you must feel!! Looks like Dani is going to beat you to the punch!

Dani--Georgia was on our girl list. Obviously, we are having a boy and settled on Ely, but I just LOVE the name Georgia. And, she will also get to have a song about her! There is a 3 Dog night song called, "Eli's Coming". I love that! I can't wait to hear all about them!

Gail--This will be your second child?? Sorry if that is a stupid question, but I never really have read the other sections of this site.

I feel a little less freaked out. DH is still running around cleaning frantically, and I went to Target and bought all new pillows. What a strange day. My cat will be so glad that DH has to sleep in the other room and she gets half of the bed to herself! She just hates him, and it is so funny because he tries SO hard! She will lay in the bed between us and bat at him. Gotta love the fur babies!

Gail - welcome!! & Congrats on your little bean!

Krissy - UGH! That stinks - the scabies & the plumbing issue...hopefuly DH can get it under control enough to tide you guys over til a decent hour & you don't have to call an 'emergency' plumber.

Dani - How exciting! What changed to make your dr. think you're gonna go this weekend?? Can't wait to meet your pink & blue bundles of joy! BTW, love the names!!

Heidi - glad to hear my family isn't the only ones that went nuts with the girl stuff... Maddie is gonna be 4 on Tuesday & my mom still sends the cutest outfits for her!!!

Kristy - I know how you feel! I am so ready to be done being pregnant! We're having Maddie's 4th b-day party tomorrow & it's just like your's - mostly family & some close friends. There was no way I was going to do one just for her preschool friends - 20 4year olds is a bit much to handle right now!!! BTW - Your daughter is adorable with those curls and the dress up Minnie Mouse outfit!!!!

Your baby was just a little scared to come alone so he/she went back to Heaven to find the perfect sibling to come with her.

Hey, it's so great to think things like that! We were trying fertility treatments for over a year with no luck, then Corey passed away and our first try after he went to Heaven we get pregnant. Jim said Corey went to Heaven because he was needed there and when he got there he picked a baby out for us.

It really is bittersweet the way I feel. I miss Corey so much, but I am happy to be having another baby, more than anything though I just want Corey back, but I know that isn't going to happen.

Gail
I am SO sorry for your loss, and so happy for you to have a sticky bean. It is amazing how life works, and I agree with your husband, Corey must have picked out a perfect baby for you. Hopefully you will be able to focus on the positive and enjoy this pregnancy (although I shouldn't talk; I don't exactly love being preggo!)

Cole
You are due soon, too! Geez, there is going to be a whirlwind of babies coming up! Are you getting excited!?

Wow I missed a whole page of posts when I looked on here this morning, sorry about that!

Kristy~thanks! And congrats on your little one arriving soon!

Krissy~that is not a dumb questions, I have an 8 year old daughter and an almost 4 year old son. Then I have my angel in Heaven Corey and he was 2 weeks away from his second birthday when he passed away. And yes I think Corey picked out his little brother or sister for us, thinking that makes me feel better anyway.

Cole~thanks! wow your little one will be here soon also!

Is this horribly shallow?

Krissy-Waht a crappy day. I hope things are going better for you!

Cole-Both my mom and grandma have already sent out packages of stuff. So I can only imagine what's in them. I guess I shouldn't talk though as I'm trying really hard to contain myself from going out shopping already!

Kristy-Hope your little one arrives soon for you.

Dani-Wow sounds like your will be here before you know it.

Gail-I'm also sorry for your loss. Congrats on the BFP and joining us. Life does work in weird ways. Our neighbor and friend passed away suddenly before I started my second round of injectables and got pg. Part of me has felt that he went in order for us to have a baby. My family has always said that when someone passes it's to make room for another life. I have always felt things happen for a reason and from the moment he passed I truly felt that cycle was going to be the one that worked and that his passing was for a reason.

Amber-Don't feel bad. I had a really hard time moving into maternity clothes at first. I've worked hard to keep myself looking pretty good and it was difficult at first. Now that I've adjusted to the belly I love it!

Amber--No, you are not terrible, I MISS my body!! I think I may have been among a very small percentage of american women that actually liked their body to begin with, and watching it disappear has been very difficult for me (the constant "your too big" statements have not helped). DH just keeps reminding me that it is temporary, and once I could really feel him kicking in their, I started to like the belly much more. I felt really guilty for awhile, like I was a bad mom already for not Loving the changes my body was going through, but I realize now that we live in a strange culture with a lot of emphasis on our bodies, and it is only natural to have a bit of sadness as it changes. That, and maternity clothes suck!

I want to but my camera battery died and I don't feel like spending 10 bucks on a new one. If anyone has watched Jon & Kate Plus 8 alot and knows about the camera Kate absolutely hated I have the same one and I totally sympathizeeeeeeeeeee.

Amber
That is so funny, I watch that show all the time and she is always mad at her camera! Have you been taking belly shots since the beginning? I did, and then I went through an icky stage and skipped a few weeks, now I sort of wish I hadn't because when you look at them in order it is odd--one day I just look twice as big!

Ok, so here is an odd question; could the over the counter ovulation kits actually determine if you are pregnant? My ultrasound, my husband, and my huge a$$ belly all seem to think that I am close to a month further along than I am. I kept thinking it was impossible, because I got a positive on the ovulation kit, and then a BFP two weeks later. However, I got to thinking, could the pregnancy hormones make me get a positive on the ovulation kit? I am going to ask my doc this week, but wondered if anyone had any ideas? I was SO sure, I wrote down my last period, took the kits for a week until I got the positive, and tested preggo two weeks later; could I still be wrong?

Um... off and on. At least 2-3 a month though.

Huh. That is an interesting question that I have no clue about but I'm now curious myself.

Krissy-being pregnant can give you a positive on an OPK. I think some people even try using an OPK as an HPT, even though of course it is not 100%.

Yes, an opk can show positive if you are pregnant, take one right now and check it out .

Thanks! I gave all of the OPK's away after I found out I was preggo, or I probably wouldve just tried using one! Well, if that's the case, then I guess it is possible that we are off on dates, but I took a hpt the day before my bfp and it was negative. If we were off that much, it should have been positive, or at least I would think so. I don't know, I still think my date is right, but it sure would make sense if it wasn't. I felt the baby really early for a first pregnancy (16w1d), and have gone through pretty much all of the symptoms about 3 weeks earlier than it says I would. Any other ideas why this would happen? Maybe he is just an advanced baby

Well if the hpt was negative then I say the positve opk was because of O, you usually can't get a positive opk until after you've already gotten a positive pregnancy test. Maybe more than one baby? Did you have an us yet?

ETAk I see you have already had an u/s and it's a little boy .

I don't know, feeling the baby at 16 weeks is not unreasonable for a first pregnancy I don't think and pregnancy symptoms can show up anytime.
