Thanks girls. I feel fine and nothing out of the normal. We were stopped when the light turned and I started going so it wasn't like I was moving fast anyways. I think doctors are right that we know if something wasn't right. And if I didn't have my u/s Thursday I might of asked to come in this week to get checked just to be sure.

Bugaboo- Have you not had a 3D? My 12 week was a 3d and even at that point it was wonderful. I can't wait for my 20 week one. Luckily my OB does it anyway so I don't have to pay extra but If he hadn't I would have gone to a commercial place. Definitely the neatest thing. My SIL got one done at like 8 months and you could see my little nephews face perfectly.

AmberMy 12 week and 20 week ultrasounds were regular ultrasounds, and then they put it into 3D mode for a few shots. Yes, it was great, but it was quick, and I am considering doing the 4D ultrasound around 28 weeks. The places that do it make you a video and everything, and that is the point when those work the best (and you get the clearest shot). It's expensive, though, and my doctor thinks it is highly unethical that those places do a medical procedure for commercial purposes, which is why he won't give me another one.
Your gender u/s is coming up soon, isnt it?I just got on Amazon.com and ordered just about every pilates and yoga for pregnancy video they make. I am just gaining too much weight too fast, and people feel the need to remind me on a daily basis. I am almost 24 weeks, and have gained 24 lbs. Since I already eat really healthy, and am in a once a week yoga class, I don't know what else to do other than exercise more? Any suggestions? I obviously don't want to diet or overdo the exercise, but I want to be healthy and I just don't feel like this much weight gain is healthy. I went to a girls baby shower over the weekend; she is due in 3 weeks and has gained the same amount as me; and I still have 4 months to go!!! I am going to be HUGE! It is still all belly, though. My sister (much to my disapproval) took a pic of me in a bikini at the pool last weekend; I will post it in the belly section. |

Krissy-try not to stress about your weight gain. Since you already eat healthy and exercise regularly your body is doing what is healthy for the baby.
Heidi-Sorry about your sucky morning! Hopefully the rest of the day went better! Amber-you did get some awesome shots at your u/s. At my docs he doesn't do ANY 3D/4D. I did see some advertisements for those places in his office, but they are over an hour from me. Back to work! Talk to you ladies later!

Heidi - I'm sorry about your crazy morning. That had to be scary.
Krissy - you look fantastic. Don't stress about the weight gain - you mentioned you were underweight before, right? As long as you are being healthy, your body is going to do what it needs to for the baby. Amber - you are lucky your Dr uses 3D. I think I have to go to a special place too - there are ads for them in my Dr's office. Jo - You are getting so much done! I'm so impressed! I wish I had your energy. I think we found the crib & changing table! I LOVE them! They are a little more than we planned to spend, but they are nice peices of furniture that will last thru all of our kids (the plan is 3) & then be nice bedroom furniture. We started registering too - Baby's R Us & Restoration Hardware Baby & Child - I think that might be it. Still figuring out the bedding.....waiting until we know for sure on Thurs!! I am still thinking we'll have a boy, but I love surprise! Have a good day!

Krissy - has your doctor said anything about your weight gain? That's the only person's input that I'd be concerned with!
I have so many people tell me that I'm too small - but I'm measuring right on track & my dr. isn't concerned, so I don't care what anyone else says! (it's easier to do that when it's not your first pregnancy! Heidi - Glad to hear you're ok! What a crappy way to start the day! Hope the rest of your day was better! Kristy - how's it going? Got everything ready?? What did you ever get for a gift for DD from the baby? I didn't get any other U/S's than the standard 20w one (which was actually at 17w, so we didn't get a def. on the sex)...and if I hadn't slipped & fell on some ice, I wouldn't have gotten another one at 19w at the ER that confirmed a boy.(but didn't get any pix from that one)... My dr. had the pamphlets for all of the 3/4D places, but they were pretty far from the house & more money than we could 'spare'. Jo - What a hectic day! I hate when things pop up unexpectedly like that! |

Thanks everyone. I know I am obsessing a little on the weight gain, but everytime I convince myself it is ok, someone says something rude and gets me worried again. And I like to do things sort of "by the book", and all the books say I should have gained about 1/2 of what I have gained, so I get scared. Also, I am getting sort of uncomfortable already, which makes me wonder how I am going to keep working if I keep gaining at this speed. I need to work right up till the birth in order to get my maternity leave. My doc does seem slightly worried; mostly because the baby is measuring about 3 weeks further than he should. I have an appt. next Wed, and am going to let him know how worried I am. Maybe I can score an extra u/s??
Heidi--my doc told me that when it comes to falls, you would know something was wrong within the first 4 hours. He said that if something bad was going to happen, it would be sooner rather than later, so I think you are fine (except maybe being freaked out!) |

Kristy, Jen, Jo & Cole-Thanks. I don't think I was that freaked out since my friend was with me. Otherwise I probably would of been in panic mode and headed home!
Krissy-Thanks for the information on the 4 hour thing. I've been good all day and of course going peeing frequently just to check and be sure no bleeding! As for the weight gain.....I wouldn't stress too much. As you know I was headed down that path too and finally just figured everyone was right....you're body is going to do what it wants. And it sounds like to me you are very healthy and the weight gain isn't from eating a bunch of junk. I bet you'll have an easy time getting it off afterwards. Amber-I bet you are getting excited to find out the sex and have you're next u/s. I can't wait to have mine! |

girls, I am floating on cloud 9 right now. The painters are painting the nursery as I type!! I am SSSOOO excited!!!!! This morning was not as hectic as yesterday, thank God, but we still had some paint color drama. We finally found one that will work. The original was too yellow and the one that I liked was too peachy. I am excited to see it all start coming together. The carpet guy came out to measure and will be ready whenever the painters are finished sometime next week.

Jo--I am So jealous! Sounds like things are really coming together! I painted our nursery last summer; of course, it was not a nursery at the time, just another bedroom, but I painted it blue in case we ever had kids. Good thing the baby is a boy! We bought the crib. I do not LOVE it, but it was affordable, it will work and its not like he will be in it forever. We also ordered a crib set. Moons and stars. So cute!
I am freaking out about how much we have to do. We are moving the laundry to the second floor from the basement, which is sort of expensive and requires that we buy a different washer and dryer. My husband could do some of the work himself, to save money, but he is still putting down hardwood through our downstairs, and in the midst of putting in all new windows and painting all the trim to seal in the lead paint, so he doesnt really have time. That really stresses me out; I don't know how we are going to afford it, but there is NO way that we can leave it in the basement. Even now, I can barely get down those scary winding stairs. Add a baby and a bunch of pukey laundry and I will not be a happy camper! ugh. My sister adopted last September. She had 30 hrs to get her nursery put together (they were chosen by a birth mother the same day that they were approved to adopt. Since most people wait years, they were NOT ready!) But, I keep reminding myself, not only did her nursery come together, it looked great and the baby could have cared less! Still, it would be nice to have some of this stuff done. I will post pics of the new floor if and when it ever gets done. He can only work on it one day a week, since he works 6am-7pm the other 6. Man, we are really pushing it this summer!! |

I can't wait for our ultrasound. DH and I already came to conclusions on bdding last week. There is an adorable Wendy Bellisimo Bumblebee set if we have a girl and for boy we found a teddy bear set we both really really like. I cant wait to watch my little goober in there. Maybe I'll get a vid this time. Last time they took two but that was the only time he/she sat still. GO figure!

Wow Jo-I'm jealous too! But we still have lots of time. We actually don't have much to do though. We moved the furniture out of the baby's room and I had painted it a few years ago with the hope it might become a baby's room so hopefully whatever bedding we pick out will work so I don't have to repaint!
