Hi,

Snowie congrats on your baby girl.

Hi Gem and Heidi!!

Oh yeah I'm huge again. This kid never stops moving, she moves way more than Linnaea did so that has me worried she is going to be a handful.

Hope everyone is well and your pg are going smooth.

Heidi - Thats so exciting! We'll find out on the same day!! What time is your appt?

Krissy - Have fun with the folks!

Kristy - Congrats on getting all the shopping done. I am just getting started.

I am waiting for DH to "relax" before we going to the baby store. He played bball this AM & is tired now. I am looking forward to finding furniture today!
This will be a busy weekend - we2 need to finish getting the house ready for the shower next Sat. So much to do I wish the weather was a little cooler!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Jen

Jen-We go at 8am. I thought that was your appt day as well. How exciting. Did your OB give you instructions about drinking water before hand? Mine didn't say anything but I've heard you're supposed to drink a bunch of water but stop 45 minutes before the appt.

I'm getting really irritated with DH and my hormones are of course raging. I can't get him motivated to do anything around the house. We have a bathroom that has been torn apart since the fall and very little done on it. We need to move the bed out of the baby's room because I plan on ordering furniture next weekend. It's to the point that if does nothing this weekend on the bathroom I think I'm going to hire my friend's husband to do it. I want that done obviously before the baby comes. It's pulling teeth to even get him to mow the lawn....it caused an argument earlier this week. It's so frustarting because some of this stuff are things I'd just do on my own but with the OB's restrictions I can't and damn it he can do it! UGH. Plus I know part of it is I want things done now and I have no control over when I can't do it.

Heidi - You'll know first. Our appt is at 10AM. They didn't mention anything about water, but I'll try it. & I was going to have some OJ too, to make the the little one is awake.

I completely understand how you feel about DH. I have found the same "lack of motivation" exists in my house too. He does have his moments, but I am currently waiting for him to start the list I gave him to help me get ready for next weeks shower. One of the things on the list I have talked about for several weeks now - clearing out the baby's room by putting things in the attic. I try to tell myself that he'll get it done, and to be patient, but its difficult. When I want something done, I just do it, instead of letting it sit.
Maybe if you tell him you are going to hire someone, it will help motivate him (that actually worked for me a couple times). Try not to let it get to you too much!

Thanks Jen-He did get the beds taken care of....which took all of 1/2 hour. It just drives me crazy that he can sit around when there are things to be done. I'm trying to be more patient and give him space to do it. But it's so hard. And I think he's having a hard time adjusting to me not just doing stuff. So maybe we both need some time to adjust to the changes that are happening!

I bought some OJ too. I'm glad yours didn't say anything either about drinking water. I'm not going to sweat it then and just do my normal routine. I'll drink the OJ and some water before we go.

Heidi and Jen
About the DH lack of motivation; here is what helped me. We needed to do SO much, to the point of overwhelming, and I think DH just couldnt wrap his brain around it all. Then we went to the home of some friends of ours, and the girl (while her DH was out of the room) started talking about how "great" her husband was when she was pregnant, and how sweet, and how he made everything so great for when the baby came home. I think men will always rise to a challenge, and I know my DH is competitive by nature. Lets just say, he started doing the hardwood floor the next day! So, if you know any couples that might "motivate" him that way, Id give it a try! Now I can't get mine to slow down and take a break!

Krissy-Not a bad idea. He told me this weekend he'll get it done on his terms. I told him that's fine I just don't want to be 9 months preggo and him still trying to get it done! So our plan is for now to concentrate on getting all the other crap organized and hopefully throw out stuff we don't need. I'll feel better if I can stop seeing papers and crap laying all over the hosue! How are things with your family and the flooding?

Heidi and Jen
I think you only need to drink lots of water for those really early ultrasounds. They did not have me do that for my gender u/s, and we got to see his little boy parts. I drank juice beforehand, but He didn't move at all, so we were lucky he was in a good position. I recommend eating right before. I didn't have time to, but now that I can feel him so well, I realize that he ALWAYS moves a lot about a half an hour after I eat. I think that is common. My tech told me that if the baby is in a bad position or not moving, they can usually roll you onto your side and poke around until they get a good shot, so I wouldn't worry. What do you think it is??? Any gut feeling?? I just KNEW it was a boy!

It was nice to see my family over the weekend and get a tan. My parents are able to move back into their house this week (they have been out for 2 weeks now). In comparison to some people who lost it all, they really don't have much to comlain about. Their house was built for flooding--they built it on top of the garage, so that helps. They had 8 feet of water, so they lost furnace, water heater, some of their things, and the sheet rock and foundation all need to be fixed, and the force of the water blew out those lower windows, but it didn't hit their first floor, so they lucked out. They can finally get to their house, which you couldnt have done without a boat for over a week! Some people lost everything. It is very sad.

Krissy-Glad that what they lost was minimal compared to the others in that area! I can't even imagine being in that position. That's what I thought about the water too for the u/s and we didn't even have to do that for my early ones and it was fine. I plan on getting up at my normal time so I have time to eat a little something and have some juice. I really think it's a boy and DH is saying girl. The OB I saw Friday said the mother's are usually right!

K, my mind is so frazzled right now.

Painters got here at 8:30 and we did a run-through of colors and last minute updates.

Dr.Appt at 9:30. All is good, was told the antibiotic IV will not interfere with an epi. Good to know.

Overseer of painters came at 10:30 to check on the guys. Seems we had some rain leakage in one of the closets the last storm that blew through. Had to replace one of the closet walls. SNAFU #1

Exterminator came at 11:30 to spray for ants. Did the outside and most of the inside, but will need to come back when the painters are completely done.

Made my 4D u/s appt for next Thursday.

Called the carpet guy and ordered carpet for the whole house. Will install immediately after the painters have vacated.

That's about all! I am still on super-woman mode and need to wind down from the day's activities.

It's too quiet here today... (cue crickets)

Heidi- my dr said that about mother's intuition as well, and I was right on!

Good luck to both Heidi and Jen on getting to see "the goods". What a great moment!

Jo--You have to let me know how your 4D ultrasound goes, and what you think it is worth. My old doc did it for $50, but I switched and my new doc won't do it at all, which leaves no choices other than the commercial ultrasound places. I can't decide how badly I want it, but they charge a lot of money!
So I woke up this morning and my eye was swollen shut. Doc put me on an antibiotic; apparently I have an infection. This is doing nothing for my self esteem; now I just feel like a huge one-eyed monster!

Krissy- I am sorry, but you made me LOL. It reminds me of the one-eyed purple people eater song. $50! Wow, that's awesome! Too bad your new dr won't do it for that. Mine is charging $175 and that is with a $25 discount. Eeek! We cannot wait to see our little man again. The last u/s we didn't get many good photos, not even the basic baby profile pic, so hopefully this will get us some better photos. I scrapbook, so I am in desperate need of some good baby photos!!

Jo
That is about how much it would cost us, too. I really want it, but that could buy a lot of baby stuff, too. Let me know how it goes. We got a few good shots at our last u/s, and who knows, we may have another one if he keeps measuring so huge! He is almost 3 weeks bigger than he should be--and so am I
