Snowie-I'm so sorry about your aide. You wonder what people think about sometimes. I was actually afraid that my DD had that 2 weeks ago. Thankfully hers ended up being hives. I think the later in the pregnancy you are the less likely you are to have issues from it, as long as delivery isn't during the outbreak. I'm sure everything will turn out ok. . .I guess you'll have something exciting on the filming, huh? Not the kind of excitement you wanted I'm sure!

Snowie - we had a pretty widespread outbreak of Fifth disease at my school in the fall. Two teachers were in their first trimester then. One just had her twin boys on Friday and they are perfect. The other is a few weeks away from her due date. I really think the risk is highest in the first trimester and they did/are doing great.

Wow, I love this website. You girls made me feel so much better.

Amber-You made me LOL. Thank u for that!

Kristy-Totally not the kind of excitement I was looking for! I feel like I have to screen what comes out of my mouth, in this case so as not to make my aide feel bad should she happen to watch the show. At the same time, I have to discuss this with my dr whether or not the cameras are there. I'm sure they'll eat this up.

Kelly-Thank you for sharing that! That makes me feel so much better. Did they actually contract the disease or were they just exposed? And I think you guys are right, the later in the pg, the less risk but I can't help but worry.

Snowie, I had exactly the same thing happen with my pregancy with Mia. I called right away and they said that in the 3rd trimester the only problem is caused from the Mom getting sick. Then they just treat it like any illness during pregnancy. He had one pg mom get it and she ended up dehydrated but that is the only problem he had ever seen.

Dani- About the C-Section stuff...I had it both ways with my girls.
Vaginal and C-Section.
And, to be quite honest with you...the c-section recovery was easier for me than the vaginal was.
With the c-section, once I could get up and move around..I was fine.
With the vaginal, I felt like I couldn't sit down right for a couple of weeks.
That's just my opinion and experience.
Everyone is different. HTH

If you have any other questions, I can try to help you.

Dani ~ I do believe that it's not at all unusual for a breech twin to do a quickie 'flip' AFTER the first twin delivers. Kristy, can you verity that for me? I think we don't hear about it much b/c so commonly, twins are delivered c-section.

Snowie ~ How the HECK DID YOU GET TO 32 WEEKS!! HOLY CRAP!!!

Snowie - If it helps you feel better, my nephew had 5th's while I was pg, and my Dr told me that you are only in danger in the first trimester. I agree that if people are sick they should just stay away though!

Chrystie- I've heard that it can happen like that, hopefully it won't with me. I can't wait til Friday and see what the doctor tells me. BTW did you have swollen feet and hands towards the end of your pregnancy? My feet are so swollen right now that i'm starting to worry(blood pressures normal though)

Amber--Now I can't wait to hear about your u/s. I was sure it was a boy, too, and it was. But my friend was SURE she was having a boy, and she had a girl! My tech told me that they can almost always get a good look, and if the baby's not in the right position, they can turn you on your side and jiggle your belly a bit to get the baby moving. I still worry that we will have a surprise on delivery day; I guess I just don't trust modern science!

Dani--How awesome to get a boy and a girl at the same time! I was preggo with twins, but miscarried one of them (you may have read all of my freaked out posts at that time), I was really hoping it would be a boy and a girl. That way, if you don't want to do this again you have one of each! You are getting SO close!!!!

I had more to say and almost forgot...
Snowie--Good luck with your stupid co-worker, I sometimes wish I could just wear a sign that says "Im pregnant; please Quit tailgating me and don't cough near me"
Speaking of illness, however, anyone know anything about hand, foot, and mouth disease? My 9 month old neice was diagnosed with it last week, and I want to go home and visit this weekend, but I am not sure if I can be around her. The doc told her she just had the "mouth" part, whatever that means.

Dani- Yes, I had swollen feet and hands. After I delievered, I was sooo happy to have ankles again, instead of Cankles...lol

I also, got sun poisoning when I was about 7 1/2 mths preggo.
It was REALLY bad, so that contributed to swelling everywhere also.

Krissy-my dd had that while I was preggo. My obgyn said to just practice good hygeine and it isn't a big deal. Also, don't eat or drink after them. My dd only had the mouth part too. It is a very common virus that is basically everywhere. It is kind of unusual for an adult to get it.

Ksh- My Aunt gets that every year. It looks really nasty. She said it is really painful. She breaks out everywhere it says...Hand...Foot..and Mouth.

Krissy- Just be careful....especially being preggo.

Thanks for the advice! Looks like I am going to go home; my parents have been evacuated from their home from floods, and they are staying in a condo by a lake. There is an extra bdrm, so I am going to stay with them and hang out at the pool. I want to avoid getting any wierd marks or rashes being outside so much, any advice on a good preggo sunscreen?

Lisa, Mere-Thank you both for sharing your experiences. I got my blood drawn today so I should be hearing back in about a week. Then I get a repeat of the test in 3-4 weeks. It makes me feel so much better knowing that it's more of an issue in the first half of pg.

Mere-I love Katie's new pic!

Steph-I know! I haven't a clue where the time went! Just can't wait to meet her!

Krissy-LOL thanks. She did come into work today but I made sure to keep my distance. I hope your parents' house is okay. Is the evacuation just a precaution?

Okay, so we were filmed at our appt and can I just say what a complete goofball I was?! I had this stupid grin that I just could not wipe off my face. Plus the room was so hot, I felt like I was melting. They're definitely gonna have to edit the heck outta that segment. And oh yeah, as predicted, it was mostly about the parvovirus (Fifth Disease) exposure. Lovely. They also zoomed in on my haven't-had-a-pedicure-since-I-got-pregnant feet when I asked about my cankles. Man, this better help someone 'cause I'd hate to think I'm making an a$$ outta myself for nothing!

I just had to share this with everyone.....I think I there may be too many hormones of mine flying around or something because my two younger sisters are pregnant and they are both between 9 and 10 weeks!!! I think it's hilarious cause we keep ruining our moms vacations!! She was going to go somewhere this summer but is staying with me to help out with the twins, then come January she'll probably stick around to help my sisters!!
