Jen- I had that happen around 20 weeks. I called the doctor and they said that it was probably "growing pains". The uterus is undergoing a large growth spurt around that time and you can sometimes feel the stretching. Of course I also had really bad gas around that time too, so that could have had something to do with it. The stretching feeling only lasted a couple of days and then went away. Another pg lady at work also said that she had stretching around 20 weeks, but hers was bad and lasted for a few weeks. HTH!

Thanks Jo. I really hadn't had any discomfort for the last few weeks, so maybe thats it. Today it is pretty bad in my lower back, mainly on my left side. I think I might take some tylenol.

Question- what kind symptoms have you had with hemroids?

Jen- LOL Blood when you wipe, burning, itching feeling. If they are external you can "feel" them literally out there. I have never had one of those. I think I got a small internal one when I delivered that still occasionally flares up.

Rac (and everyone)--thanks! I am also lactose intolerant, but have been able to handle more dairy while pg than before. I only eat organic foods, but since I never drank much milk before, I have been leary of organic dairy products b/c of fear of listeriosis. It tastes SO much better!

Jen--Don't worry about DH not being too handy. I should point out that my husband is a contractor; so that is what he does for his job (hence his reluctance to ask/pay for any assistance). So is my dad. My dad owns a construction business, and mostly does new construction houses, but DH works more on home improvement and his passion is old home restoration projects (like our house!), so he likes doing it (even though having the "9 month" deadline has been annoying).
As for the pressure, I actually went to the doctor around 20 weeks b/c of same thing. Lower back pain, some in my lower belly, and what felt like my hips. I was told that it was round ligament pain from growing, and it did get better (but I still have it somewhat, especially when I do certain things or lay in certain positions). I grew A LOT at that point. Didn't realize it at the time, but looking back at pictures; no wonder it hurt! My nurse told me that your round ligaments actually wrap around and hook into your lower back, which is why you would feel it there, also. Never had hemroids, but my mom told me that you usually don't get them until really late in pg (from the pressure), or from the delivery. I read that you can get them from being too constipated, so you might want to add more fiber to your diet if you are worried. She told me "You will just KNOW" if you have them! LOL!

Last night we had homemade pizza for dinner, and we were eating on the couch. I had the plate resting on my belly and knees, and suddenly Ely kicked the plate and it flew up in the air and pizza went all over my lap! It was SO funny and suprising! DH loved it! Well, better get some more work done now--

Chrystie - Thanks! I don;t have burning or itching, but I do get stabbing pains (inside) when things are about to happen. I have been taking Colace 1-2X daily to help. I guess I'll bring it up to my Dr at my next appt.

Krissy - It sounds like I am finally growing and thats whats been happening. I bet by next week I'll notice my stomach is bigger.
I've accepted that DH will never be handy, although it would be nice...I am the one in the family who hangs the pictures.
Love the pizza story! Too funny!

Well, tomorrow is the big day! I had my appt. last night & I've started to dialate, so he asked me if I wanted to give things a 'push' on Thursday...I said yes!
I check in tomorrow afternoon to get things going! I can't believe it!! By Friday morning, I'll be holding my little man!!!

Gotta go get all of the last minute things out of the way - setting up the pack-n-play for the bassinet, sterilizing pacifiers & bottles, making sure we have diapers! Geeze! There's more than I thought.

Talk to you soon!!!!!!!!!
Nothing too exciting better not happen before I have a chance to get back & read about it!!!

Cole-How exciting! Finally making some progress and having an end in sight. Hope all goes well and keep us posted.

Jen-I wish my DH wasn't handy. There are only certain things like roofing, our sump etc that we call in professionals. All remodeling type things he wants to do himself. Once he gets it done it looks good but it's just getting to that point that takes forever! Have fun in Atlanta. Hope the MIL doesn't annoy you too much. We have to visit mine next weekend so I'll be in that boat soon!

Krissy-Pretty funny pizza story!

Cole- How exciting!! G/L!! Will be thinking of you and your little one tomorrow. When you feel up to it, let us know all the details!

Jen- That's what my doctor called it, "round ligament pain". I couldn't remember the term.

Heidi- my DH is the SAME way. He'd rather do it himself, but it takes a bit of nagging before he finally gets started.

Cole--CONGRATULATIONS! I am so excited for you to get the show on the road! Can't wait to hear your story and see pics! Good luck!

Jen--Well, you wanted that basketball belly, and I am guessing you are about to get it. Do that painting/missionary position/gardening/and paint your toenail stuff now, you may not be able to in two weeks!

I'm swamped. Hating my job right now. Went to BRU to register for a pack n play today. My sister was going to give me hers, but just changed her mind, so I figure I will need one! I got my invitation to my shower from her yesterday, it is SO cute! Blue and white polka dots with a little 3d train on the top. I can't wait! My MIL is coming next weekend, too. Is July "In-Law month", or what?!

I think I'm going to get a pedi this weekend because it's too hard to reach my toes!

Krissy-It must be in-law month. I want to get our yearly trip out of the way now and then we won't have to be bothered with it!

Girls, I think I've got a major problem on my hands. My dog just went into the nursery, which now has a baby gate up to prevent her from going in, and peed in the corner on the BRAND NEW CARPET!! Is this passive-aggressiveness starting already??? If I tell DH that within one week of us having new carpet she pissed on it, he's going to flip a lid! And it wasn't in any other room aside from the baby's?? That's just a little too convenient. I wasn't worried at all about how she was going to take a new baby, but now I am very concerned. What should/can I do?

Any other mommies experience this sort of thing? I'm just really disappointed in Annabelle right now.

Jo--Uh, Oh! Well, before you worry too much; perhaps she peed on it because it is new? Did you get new carpet throughout the entire house, or only in that room? Sometimes dogs want to mark what is new. Our dog seems to be fine with the nursery so far, but we have been a bit worried, as well. I would just recommend giving her some attention so she doesnt feel left out. I hope that someone with more experience offers some advice!

Cole--I know you are not on here, but YEAH today is the big day!!!!!

Heidi--I was thinking of getting a pedi, too. The only problem is that I never trust pedi people to actually keep everything clean and sanitized. It sort of grosses me out when I think of how icky it could be if they werent ultra careful. I am going to have to do something, though, because I can't reach my toes either.

Krissy- yes, we got carpet throughout the entire house. I hope it's just a fluke that it was in the nursery and it's b/c it is new and has that new smell. So far that's the only room that I know of that she's done it. It's just weird. As for attention, she gets plenty. Maybe that is a problem. I don't think she'll care about my diverted attention but DH...that is another story. He is the alpha male and she LOVES her daddy!

Heidi- I am planning on using my RedDoor Gift Certificate to get the Healing Pedicure that they offer. I just need to make sure that it is okay to get a pedi. I've heard they can sometimes cause contractions, so you may want to check with the doctor.

In better news, I found a kick-a$$ picture for the master bedroom today at The Great Indoors. Regularly $270, I got it for $67!!!! What a steal, huh?

jo-that is horrible. Did it clean up okay? I think it is just that it is new carpet and not because it is the baby's. However, do you have everything set up in there, maybe the dog is feeling nervous about all the moving around of stuff and changes. I don't think it is directed to the baby though.

It looks like it all came up okay. I hope it is just that it is a new smell. As for the furniture, yes, everything is pretty well put together and where it will stay. I will take some photos today and post what we've got so far. Still missing a few pieces, but it'll do.
