Rebecca- you look great.. don't let your mw scare you. I had a low weight gain and still have a 8lb4oz baby.. weight gain is not dependent on that necessarily. You are so tiny all around that it has to go somewhere. My bff is about your size and she gained 40 lbs.. looked great the whole time and had a 7 lb baby. Who knows..

Don't let them make you feel guily about bfeeding. You can only do what you can do...

Rebecca - I was the same way you are. I never ate sweets and ate salad w/ chicken for lunch everyday and still gained 45 lbs. When I talked to my MW a/b it, she just told me that was how my body handled pg and just keep eating healthy. The last month, I started eating desserts and stuff, but I hardly ate more than 3 bites of anything that last month anyway. And BFing is not best for everyone. What is best for Matthew is that he has a mommy who is healthy, and that means taking whatever meds. you need.

Laura, PC, Kayla, Kelly, Mere - thanks girls! I talked to my sister about my appt. and she said the same things. This is a good example of why I need my meds!!! If I had them I would be like " yeah, whatever you say lady!" and wouldn't let it bother me so much. Thanks for your support! At least I know I am doing everything I can to help little Matthew be as healthy as possible!

No word on the furniture and I am pretty bummed! I don't think we got it! BOOOOOOO!

Okay, I had to tell this story. The most awful thing was just said to me.

I'm walking (waddling) down the hall, and some one who is in a different department comes in the opposite direction. She sees me and asks how much longer I have to go. I say "about two weeks."

She says that she will keep me in her prayers. I smile and start to say thank you, but she cut me off to keep talking. And she says, "And don't worry, things like the cord wrapping around the baby's neck and choking it are very rare."

I was STUNNED!! I couldn't believe she said that to me!

I'm still stunned. Seriously. My boss asked if I hit her. I kinda wanted to. Who says that kind of thing to someone about to give birth?

a simular thing happened to one of my friends. she is about 6m along (their first) and her hubby was at work talking about her and the baby. one of the guys at work starts to talk about his wife dying during child birth! My friend jay was so stunned he didnt know what to say, he felt bad but now was super scared about that.

Mere - I know what you mean about people saying STUPID things. My BIL decided that he would try his hardest to scare me. He was talking about his ex getting an epidural when she was in labor with my niece (with ALL the details mind you). I called him on it and told him that if he was trying to scare me that he would have to try a hell of a lot harder than that! He is such an IDIOT! Like he could go through labor....RIGHT! I will haul off and hit him next time. I am cranky like that.

Kayla~That's funny that you called your BIL on his comments. I know a lot of men that couldn't handle being pg & giving birth. I personally think if men had to give birth there would be a lot less people in the world.

Mere- i had someone say something stupid here about miscarriage. thats why i rarely talk to people I don't know well about my pregnancy.

Well, DH and I finally had sex after about 6 weeks of none and of course, i started bleeding afterwards. I knew it would happen but it still kind of freaked me out. It stopped right away but the first thing you think about is what it going to be like when you lose your plug. I'm in a super good mood today. DH was supposed to be out of town for 30 days but his trip got cut short so I'll only be alone for 17 days. Yeah! So happy I didn't have to be the one to say anything!@

Kayla~ I have people trying to scare with with their labor stories all the time. What ever is going to happen will happen. DH and I have our child birth prep class all day on Saturday. As much as I'm looking forward to being more informed, I'm bummed because it starts at 9am and I really like to sleep in on the weekends now!
