I just heard a/b hospitals not having nurseries a few months ago. Ours did. Hannah spent quite a bit of time in there but Lily spent even more. I think that was b/c we were more relaxed, but also b/c I was alone a lot more w/ Lily. Toby stayed the whole time I had Hannah, but I sent him home after the first night b/c he kept me up coughing and snoring all night. I don't see how I could have kept either one the whole time by myself though. After the c/s, I wasn't allowed out of bed for 24 hours, then it was hard for me to bend over enough to change diapers. I didn't change Lily's diaper until day 3-4.
Mel - glad your parents stood up for you! |

Mel - Glad it worked out with your Aunt & Grandma. Hope the call will smooth things over!
I had my 36 week appt today. I am measuring a couple days ahead and he looks great. We didn't get a great look at his face b/c he is head down, but we got a peek. They think he is about 6lbs 11oz now, so he will be about 7 1/2 lbs at delivery. My Dr offered an internal check today, but we decided to wait until next week. Only 2 appts left!! |

some of the hospitals around here make you sign against medical advice if you chose to have the baby room in because there was an accident a few years back where a mother fell asleep with the newborn after receiving pain meds and something bad happened, not sure what

It is so strange to me how differant hospitals are. Here the nursery is not even offered, but I think they have one. Really unless your baby goes to the NICU they NEVER leave your room. They even had a big roll in queen size bed so that after the delivery Dh and I could be in the same bed and they have a little cradle thing attached to it for the baby

Wow Lisa, having the queen sized bed to roll in sounds fantastic! I've never heard of that before!
Well I'm venturing over here now

Yay, Steph!
LOL, there's really no such thing as TMI in the PG thread. One thing I've learned Lisa- Wow, a queen bed? How cool is that? My poor DH- They had some kind of foldout thing it was just awful. I think he would have been happier on the floor. When they moved us to the pedi wing for Donovan's photo therapy it was better in a way because there were two beds and the crib so at least we both got to sleep. I kept telling DH he could go home, but he wouldn't leave us. Awww. |

Lisa ~ Wow! A queen size bed! All we saw in the room was a fold out chair that converts to a bed. It doesn't look very comfortable and I can totally see Cap'n, my mom and MIL taking off as soon as they get tired and leaving me alone with the baby in the room! We'll see though
Stephanie ~ Yay! Welcome! I started m/s around 6 weeks and it didn't go away for me until between 16-17 weeks! It was awful, I must say and I'm SO happy to be past that part. Now, I'm freaked that I'll be barfing all over the place when I go into labor! |

Thanks Girls! Yea, right now I just feel icky in the evenings as well, with an occassional night of dry heaving, but so far no throwing up. I'm just wondering if this is what I should expect for the next 6-8 weeks or will it progress and get worse, I'm just curious
Mel- I'm more worried about pooping during labor than throwing up, although I would prefer for neither to happen!!! Oh yes, and as of right now my due date is on my BDay, I thought that was pretty cool

LOL about the puking and pooping!! I went into false labor on my birthday and I was throwing up then but when I was induced and in labor I didnt throw up as for pooping I have no idea they dont tell you if you do I was very concerned about that part though I made sure to tell the nurses that I made sure I didnt eat any corn so they wouldnt be more grossed out than neccesary!!!! LOL I think they thought I was crazy

Stephanie - I'm concerned about the pooping as well! And since I have requested a mirror, I'm gonna see it! But I've heard that at that point, you don't care and I'm pretty sure I'll be in that state of mind (although I'm sure I will be apologizing to everyone for it!) but I just HATE feeling nauseous and it usually goes hand in hand with a massive headache. I think I will be so much better to deal with if I don't have those 2 things going on.

Mel- honey, don't take this the wrong way......but you are NUTS! MIRROR?!?!? I'm not sure which part you are hoping to see, exactly, but I'll tell you that when D was crowning the last thing I could have done was hold a mirror and take a good look. I was holding that bed so tight I probably would have shattered a mirror. I'm surprised I didn't break DH or the nurses hand! That poor girl. She was a little thing and I know I must have hurt her.
Steph- I'm not sure the m/s necessarily "progresses". Of course everyone is different. I never puked, but my cousin was nauseated for weeks and puked just once. So ya never know! I was on prometrium, and I really think that made it worse. I didn't puke during labor. Amazingly. The drugs I was on for the pre-e made me feel really yucky. |

I had morning sickness (all day) for about 16 weeks, but it was definitely the worst between 9-11 weeks. That is when I couldnt even go into a grocery store or I would throw up from the smell of food! It got much more tolerable after that, and then from about 17 weeks on I was just STARVING all the time, and would feel nauseated if I didnt eat enough, but that's it.
I threw up through my entire labor, and for two days before my water broke. My water broke Sunday night, and I actually was in the hospital Friday night because I was vomiting so much they had to give me some meds to stop it. It was the worst part of labor for me, because I would throw up during a contraction and it made the contraction hurt so much worse. Trust me, you wont care if you poop or not! Besides, even if you do, it will not be the grossest thing to come out of your body on that day Stephanie--There is NOTHING too TMI in this thread! I second Rhea, pregnancy goes from gross to grosser |

Krissy- Yup, we are planning on finding out girl or boy. My "due date" is October 19th, what do they say anyway, that something like only 10% of people actually deliver on their due date?? I'm sure my due date is going to change over the course of months anyway.

Stephanie-I knew when I concieved based on OPK and chart. My due date was October 18th, and I delivered on November 3. Yes, I went into a whole new MONTH! They changed my due date from the 18th to the 11th, and then to Oct 3rd because Ely was measuring 6 weeks AHEAD through the whole pregnancy, yet he came late. They do their own thing--everyones body is differently, and assuming that ALL people have a 40 week gestational period is sort of crazy. It is just an average, and when you have seen 3 due dates come and go, you realize it is sort of silly that we get so stuck on a day
