Happy Birthday Val!
Hehe, I make fun of Ryan, because he is the older of the two of us. Oh, and Grammy is the name MIL wants to be called. My parents are already Nana and Pa (they already have grandkids) and MIL and FIL have chosen Grammy and Grandpa.

Manda ~ I am just ready to get this week over with! And then, I think we are ready for her whenever she may come....hopefully a little more baking time for her. I think we will wash her clothes and bedding this weekend. That's about all we have left to do. Everything else is bought, except a breast pump b/c I'm not sure if I'll get to b/f or not. We still have that gift card we can put towards that if we need it though. I can't believe how much time has flown by for us. Don't stress! You have time still, and another shower coming up.

Kayla-you can rent breast pumps too, so if you end up needing your card for something else that could be an option for you

Kayla- I'm trying not to stress, I just want everything done in plenty of time so the last couple weeks I can just relax. Good luck this week with your tests! I'm sure you will do wonderful!! I just got through making a rough budget for the next few months and hopefully we can save enough $ to get whatever we still need after my last shower and have planty of $ left over for emergencies. I have been the queen of lists lately and DH makes fun of me. I have about 5 lists going right now just so I don't forget anything! LOL! I think I will calm down after the holidays are over. I'm just feeling overwhelmed with everything I still need to do for Rylan and the holidays. I'm waiting on the breast pump too. My cousin said she might still have the one she used so hopefully I can just borrow that one.

Kayla & Manda, I'm so glad I got the electric pump before Maleia came! Since she wouldn't feed off of me in the beginning, I'm still able to offer her bm. Everyone's different, but I was just so glad to have it since formula is so expensive!
Kayla, I don't have inverted nips, but sometimes they didn't stick out enough to bf Maleia, so I tried the shells, and they really do work! Just wanted to encourage you if you were thinking of trying them.

I sold my Medela Pump last week and the girls mom that called said her daughter said she had to B/f because they couldn't afford formula...I just really think that is the strangest reason to B/f...I b/f both of mine Carter (10mos) and Riley (1yr10days) and I can say that not once did I say I b/f due to the cost. Crazy? Anyway when they came to get the pump she was very young so I guess this was maybe not planned? I worry about those situations...

Karen, Guess it came across that cost of formula is the only reason why I'm BF. I have other reasons for wanting to keep it up, but DH & I were shocked at the prices of formula when we got some just in case we needed it for supplementing.
Maleia didn't eat much of anything for the 1st 72 hours of her life, so she lost about a pound from birth weight during that time. I was just so happy to have the pump in order to be able to feed her bm and to be able to keep it up until she decides to latch on.

Hello All!

Happy B-day Val & Kay!! Val, you are just a baby!! I don't worry about age. I turned 30 in November and it was waaaaay uneventful but that is ok too, I guess. Next year I'll have to party it up!!

OH dear! You guys talking about b/f! I really haven't thought about many details yet. Is there a point in your pregnancy when you know it is time to start thinking about that stuff?? I haven't even thought about a design for the nursery yet! I'll be the one running around last minute wondering what I'm supposed to be doing!! That is really not like me either. I'm a list girl too! Hopefully my brain will know when I need to kick it into high gear and believe that I am pregnant and need to get some of this stuff done!

Dana ~ Oh you have plenty of time!!! I only started getting the nursery ready when I was around 25-27 weeks! And I still have stuff to do, but I'm not much of a planner...very much a procrastinator!!! The major upside to doing most of it now is, obviously, you'll have more energy now!!

Speaking of nursery I still haven't posted any pics of it, have I??? See, what did I tell you guys? PROCRASTINATOR!!! lol I'll try to get some posted soon!

Dana-I wouldn't worry about too much right now. I never felt really good until about 20 -22 weeks. That is when I started getting things going. I ended up on bedrest/VERY limited activityfor the last 8 weeks and everything still got finished. . .I just had to have helpers!

As long as it is a healthy little one I'll be happy. I kind of want a boy b/c I think I'm done with pregnancies after this one. I kind of want a girl b/c I wouldn't really have to buy anything. I told dh we wouldn't make any permanent decisions until Liv is in kindergarten so we'll see.

My SIL and her hubby stopped at two because, as my BIL put it, "with kids, you can't play zoned defense, you have to go man to man."
