Kay - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
He is so cute!! You look amazing too!!!
Here's to a happy healthy New Year for you & your family!!

Jo - my first dr. appt. was just a few days after I called to let them know I had a BFP. I only saw a nurse & she took down all of my med. history, and drew some blood and got my weight/blood pressure. They gave me a ton of Prenatal vit. samples so I could try them & find the one that didn't make me sick (I have a problem with the iron - I always burp it up & taste it after I take it - no matter when/how/with what I take it)...and that was about it. Then they scheduled me for my next appt. & I was on my way...oh, and CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU TOO!!!! With Kay graduating to the mommy side, we needed someone to take her place so our numbers don't start to dwindle on this side!!!

Yeah GIRLS! My internet has been down, and it seems I have missed some very exciting stuff!

Kay ~ Congratulations on your precious little boy! What a great Christmas gift! I can't wait to go read your L & D story!

Jo! I am SUPER excited for you! Yay! Yay! Yay! My first appointment went exactly the same as Tulips! Good luck, I'm excited to follow your new journey!

Crystal ~ I remember you saying you would be finding out your little one's sex soon? Has that day come yet? Did I miss it?

MY UPDATE: I think (knock on wood) that my m/s is beginning to slow down, and I have been talking on the phone with a midwife who has delievered many of my friends' babies. She has given me a new (natural) way to help with my morning sickness...and yesterday I skipped my first dose of Zofran, and didn't get sick! My husband and I are going to meet with her to see what she is all about, and we are keeping our birth options open. I'm a little weary about not giving birth at a hospital, and if I haven't had so many friends that have ranted and raved about her, i wouldn't even consider it. So I will let yall know how that goes!

Dani - I think it's awesome that you are considering a midwife and a non-hospital birth. My DH wouldn't even let me think a/b it for one second. I ended up w/ a "scheduled" c-section (even though it was a surprise to us, the dr. had scheduled it for a/b a week). A/b halfway through the pg I realized I might have one, so I was fine w/ it and not disappointed or anything, but I always wanted to have a natural birth.

Manda ~ I am!!! I want her out, lol! I didn't really feel this way until Christmas Eve but I have been getting back/pelvis pain with really low cramps in the front. Not totally sure what all is going on down there. I can't wait until my appt next Wednesday to do an internal. I'm actually considering asking her passively about induction, but who knows I will probably chicken out and not ask! I guess we will both be ready when the time comes, b/c there's no stopping it haha they WILL eventually come out!

Kayla~If you feel it is an option that you & DH might consider ask your doc about an induction. It can't hurt to ask her take on it. I was induced with Cole & had an awesome labor experience. I would do it again in a minute.

Kayla - Go ahead and ask! I was not going to leave my appt without an induction date, but Katie decided to come that day, so I never made it to my appt. But I was determined, I was going to have a finish line in sight.

Girls, thanks for the info about your first visits. I went today at 3 and everything went well. My doctor took blood for various tests, did my annual pap smear and did an internal exam. We discussed nutrition and medications and such. No big deal really. I go back in 4 weeks. I guess I'll have to post it on the stats thread. Oh, my EDD is September 2.

I'm feeling pretty good so far. I do have the occasional AF-type feeling every now and then, but I've heard that is normal and not to freak out over it.

This is going to sound crazy, since I've only known for 6 days, but I hit the stores yesterday to take advantage of sales and came across a beautiful crib at BombayKids for 60% off!!! I called DH and he said while it's still WAY too early to be already buying big items like that, if it was on sale (they are closing their Kids stores) and the last one to go ahead and buy it. So I did! Am I crazy, or what???? Right now it is in the guest room and I'm going to use it to store the hodge-podge nursery stuff I have (mostly stuffed animals and books). We have to get rid of my scrapbook room, move the guest room to there and make our current guest room the nursery.

DH has a cousin who just had a baby and her nursery looks just like a page from a magazine. It is just BEAUTIFUL!! She said that she would help us decorate. I've been dreaming of a nursery now for almost two years, so I already have an idea what I want it to look like.

BTW, DH and I are planning on going to Italy for one last hurrah in March. I'll be around 16 weeks by that time, I think. Thoughts???

Jo - I bet your nursery will look like a page from a magazine even w/out the help - you're so creative. Are you still planning to do puppies?

Kelly- you have got a FANTASTIC memory! Yes, I still want to do puppies. I bookmarked a bunch of bedding sites when we first started trying. I haven't looked at them in a long time, so I should start weeding out things. My sister has already been IM-ing me a bunch of baby sites.

Jo ~ You are not crazy, you're EXCITED! Puppies will be an adorable theme! DH and I also considered it. I had my bedding ordered by 10 wks, so I was early too. I loved that I got the "big stuff" done early so that the rest of the time I have just been doing finishing touches on the nursery. I hate to feel rushed. I think 16 wks is the perfect time to travel, that is about when my m/s went away and I felt great. Plus, I "thought" I was showing which is fun. (hehe I was but not SHOWING) I flew at Thanksgiving at 33 wks and that was okay, but I was a little on the big/uncomfy side. Oh, and those AF type cramps never fully went away for me, but I just look at it as there is a LOT more going on down there during pregnancy than AF so it makes sense that we would feel it. That AF type feeling REALLY kicked in again for me about a week ago, blech!

Not much going on here. DH and I DTD this am, I hope it helps speed things along!

yes we did find out that our baby is def a boy!! now we get to fight over the two names we like. i like lucus and jimmy wants a jimmy jr.
with the home birth, i personally wouldnt consider it because i had complications with justin and if we werent at a hospital, he wouldhave never made it.
jo- we are doing puppy theme too!! i found this really cute bedding at babiesrus. the head part has like plush puppies on it. its soo freakin cute. how long is the flight to italy? i would think its ok to fly but just make sure you move around alot during the flight, take little breaks and walk the isle (act like you gotta pee alot)
