My Christmas sure turned out to be quite eventful! On Christmas Eve I gave birth to a healthy BABY BOY!!!!!!!!!

Karsyn Shane was born on December 24th at 10:06pm. He's 6lbs 6oz and 20 1/2 inches long. We're both doing good, and i will be sure to post my labor story on the baby is here thread, as soon as I have a bit more time.

Wow Kay what a GREAT Christmas present!!!! He is sooooo adorable and you look absolutely gorgeous I can't believe you just gave birth! I love the name too. I can't wait to hear your L&D story!!!

Kay- Congrats! What a blessed Christmas!!

Well, I officially get to post over here as a pregnant lady. My blood test came back positive and I go to my doctor tomorrow at 3! What should I expect at this early time? Will the doctor just talk to me, or will he do an exam? (This is just the beginning of all the questions)

DH commented, "We've been so focused on getting here, that we don't know what to do next."

Yay Jo!!! Now you need to drag Snowie over here too! I don't know about the appt, I called when I got my bfp and they didn't want to see me until 8 wks when they could do an u/s so I would suspect just talk. I guess you will find out at 3!

Jo - my first appt was pretty early - like a week after my +HPT. They just went over medical history and do's/don'ts like what you can eat/drink, exercise - stuff like that. They may do a pap smear if you are due for one or will be close to the end of the pg. 2nd appt they did a vaginal u/s and the test for STD's (Texas state law to test for some of them). Maybe they will do a little bloodwork - Blood type, immunities to Measles.

Jo - My 1st appt was 5 days after my BFP and my Dr did an u/s to confirm and wrote me a new RX to make sure I had enough progesterone. After that I wasn't seen again until the standard 8 week appt.

I totally understand what your DH said. When I got pg I didn't know what to do either. I had sent every day temping, charting, analyzing, this drug, that drug, everything under the sun, so suddenly when it was all over, honestly I felt a little lost. I had been TTC for so long I didn't know how to NOT TTC anymore. Just sit back and enjoy it, and it will sink in soon.

Jo- Congratulations!! My first appointment was to confirm my pregnancy and draw bloodwork then my next appointment was to go over medical history then my next one I got to see the Dr. and get the exam and everything.
