So, my niece was just diagnosed with Roseola Virus. She developed the rash today, which is why my sister took her in to the doc. They are supposed to visit this weekend; anyone know whether or not I can be around her? My sis asked the pediatrician, who told her that I should ask my OB. I put a call in, and am waiting to hear back. Just curious if anyone knew anything.
Oh, JO??????? I hope you are holding a new little man!! Edit: Nevermind; OB called me back with a big fat "no". Apparently, it is "not worth the risk". Bummer; now I won't see my sister until after Ely is born. Last edited by bugaboo : 08-27-2008 at 04:34 PM. Reason: Edit: Nevermind; OB called me back with a big fat "no". I'm so sorry, girls, for not checking back in. I am still at home and feeling like normal. No signs of labor anymore. Kind of frustrating, but at least I know that something is beginning to happen in there. I timed my contractions right after my last post and had contrax that were all about 5 minutes apart for the hour, but the duration of each was only around 30-45 seconds and didn't increase with intensity. I laid down and they went away completely.
I think Dominic's postion was what was giving me the most problems. Once he moved, it was a tremendous load-off, literally. I have another u/s scheduled for Friday to see his position and I feel that he has moved to the right anterior position, but we'll see. Now I am just having pelvic pressure like crazy as he is moving lower and lower. Kristy- I am SO glad that you said that. If labor feels like that I can see why people cry out for the epidural. If it's going to not be as bad, I'll be okay. At least I've had a taste of it. I figure I had that pain for 15 hours yesterday, I know I can last at least that long with extreme pain. Should I keep doing the all-fours stretching or will that just make him move again? |

Jo, if you feel that rectal pain again like before then get in that position or if at night the swimmers position. You lay on your left side with left leg straight and right leg bent and knee touching the bed way up high and your left arm straight above your head and your right arm bent and touching the bed (like if you were swimming laps) those are the best positions to get a baby to turn from OP to OA!

Krissy~ Oh, I'm so glad you got good news! YAY for little Ely being so healthy!
Jo~ Can't wait for little Dominic to get here. Jaicee was born sunny side up, but I had an epidural. I lasted until 6-7 cms and then couldn't WAIT to get it. |

Oh, Jo. I am so sorry that you went through all that pain and still no baby; but at least it sounds like he may have turned and things are progressing. He will be here in no time at all! I am so excited for you. I hope that things go quickly and SOON!!! Good luck!
Heidi, Jen, and Amber--Pretty soon you will be "on deck"! Freaky, huh? Do you all have the same due date, or just the same week? It will be so fun to see when you each go! |

Krissy-I think we are all within a week. It will be crazy. I can't believe I'm entering the 3rd trimester. It has gone so fast and starting again to feel a little overwhelmed with all the busy weekends we have coming up that I won't have any free time until October!
Jo-How you feeling today? I hope you are still feeling some relief. |

Hey, ladies. I am feeling MUCH better today. That's good and bad, I suppose. I was really hoping that Tuesday was the day. Sneaky little booger had other ideas.
DH said that was God sending me some pain to see what my thresh hold is. I've never had surgery or broken a bone or anything before so I really have no idea. He seems pretty confident that if I can do 15 hours of that pain then I can most definitely handle labor. He said to remember that the pain I had Tuesday was continuous, no breaks. And with real labor at least I'll have some breaks through the contractions, at least until the hardest stage, which also happens to be the shortest. DH took some photos of my belly this morning. I'll download them and post them soon. I have been so introverted lately. I apologize. Krissy- I really am SOOO happy that Ely is doing great! We preggos have enough worries without adding a health scare in there. I'm sorry that you aren't able to see your neice, but like I just said, adding another health scare would just drive you crazy with anxiety. Amber-Jen-Heidi- WOW! Only 8-ish more weeks, huh? Have you guys had any showers yet? I don't remember seeing any pictures. Start posting ladies!! Alison- good to see you posting. |

Heidi--It is really exciting that you are all entering the third trimester; don't worry, you will get everything done in time!
Jo--I am glad you are feeling better (and also hope you feel worse soon Well, DH FINALLY completely finished the hardwood floors downstairs. It wouldn't have taken so long, except he had to repaint all the trim first (it had lead paint in it), and since he works 6 days a week, he could only work on our house on Sundays. I am SO relieved to finally have our downstairs back; it has been torn apart all summer. I will post some pics here if you want to see! Thanks, Amber. You should have seen it when we moved in! It was SUCH a disaster; and really unsafe! You could see into the basement by looking through the huge cracks in the floor! LOL! DH has worked really hard on it, and we love it now, but it has come a LONG way!
