Krissy, I am so happy that everything looks good. You must be so relieved
Jo, I hope you are in labor but I have read that being on all fours and then having someone rub back and forth with a towel (like you dry your back) will help move a sunny side up baby. If not, you can do it, it will be harder but you are strong and it will be fine! |

Eeek! Still here, still only dilated to a 1 cm, but the doctor said that the baby's head has moved way down since yesterday. He thinks it won't be too much longer now.
I don't want to scare any of you preggos, so read on at your own risk: This hurts like H3LL!! I am having major back labor and it is excruciating. I may have to take out my red editing pen from school and mark out my entire birth plan. A c-section sounds SOOOO good right about now! mom3- thanks for the tips. I will have DH help me out with that this evening. Pray that this little one turns! I am in PAIN here!! |

Jo-Oh, hun I agree with Lisa. Take a long bath or just stand in a warm shower. Maybe have dh do some massage. A heat pad on your back(not on high, just enough heat). If you have a labor ball, try that. I know it is uncomfortable. It will be worth it, you are strong. Hang in there, remember even if the plan changes it is your birth and story. In the end you will have Dominic and it will be worth it.
edit: are you having an regular contractions? Last edited by momof3 : 08-26-2008 at 08:42 PM. |

Jo-Hang in there. Hopefully it won't be too much longer. My mom told told me back labor is bad and she's afraid I'll get it since I've had off and on again back pain while being pg. Here's sending you some labor dust for that little one to turn and give you some relief.

Well, I'm still at home. My DH and I have been trying everything to make this back pain stop. He has been such a trooper. Right when he walked in the door he started massaging my back, which felt SOOOOO good! We tried a few other massage techniques and then he drew me a warm bath in our jacuzzi tub. I haven't used it since we got our BFP and it was DIVINE! I willl definitely be requesting a room with a tub. I dreaded getting out of the tub as I just knew my back would start hurting again. It did. I did a lot of walking around the house. I was just exhausted. I hdn't gotten any sleep the night before, really, so I could feel my body wanting to go to sleep, but couldn't think of a possible way to lay that would feel good. I ended up using the body pillow and that helped relieve the tension, somewhat. I was able to get to sleep and have woken up every hour or less with contractions. They are still not regular as far as frequency, but at least they heven't tapered off.
The best news is that my back pain is almost completely gone! Holy COW, did that hurt!!! I simply cannot imagine having to go through that pain before labor actually begins. It just wears you down before the bad stuff even starts. Kristy- thanks for the suggestion on your exercise. Not only did it feel wonderful, I am thinking it did get him to move My DH and I both noiced that my tummy has dropped tremendously and sticks out more like a shelf now. Weird... I'll keep you guys updated as long as I can. I am not bothering Betsy just yet. Don't want to cry wolf, you know...Thanks for the t&p's! Keep em coming, he'll be here soon!! |
