Poor Gail! I had awful morning sickness too; I read a few studies that showed that the worse your morning sickness is, the less likely you will miscarry. That always made me feel better when I had my head in the toilet!

Snowie- still here. I've got a busy day planned today. I know I'm going to be exhausted tonight! How's mommyhood?? OT: did your belly button pop? Mine is still flat. Just wondering.

Last night DH and I made dinner and tripled the outcome so that we can freeze it. So far we have 7 nights worth of frozen meals that we've made. We have all the essentials stocked up should he come early.

BTW, the full moon theory did nada to help speed up his progress.

I had my u/s yesterday and the tech said that the kidneys are smaller, but still a little big, so I have another u/s scheduled for next Tuesday, if I am still preggo by then. I had to pee after the u/s so DH waited for me in the hall and was looking at the wall of newborn pics. When I came out he motioned for me to come over. Apparently he was eavesdropping on the tech and my doctor discussing me and Dominic. The tech said that Dominic is in the ready position and should have no trouble turning his head to my back when the time comes. The doctor said well, she should go any day now. My DH's eyes got big like saucers!! It's one thing to hear me counting down, but quite another when the doctor says it.

Jen- I just saw your post, too. Better to get everything checked so you can enjoy your Mexican Fiesta! Keep us posted.

Forgot to add: the tech said that Dominic is going to have a full head of hair. We could see it wiggling in the amniotic fluid. I hope my Donald Trump dream isn't a reality!

Jen-Hope everything is ok. I'm sure it is! But let us know how the appt goes.

Krissy-Hope you are having a better day.

Amber-Don't know if I posted this or not (definitely starting to get baby brain) but I did my glucose test on Friday. The drink really wasn't that bad. I haven't heard anything from the doctor's but they say they only call if there's an issue and you need to do the 3 hours test. I assume if I don't hear anything by Friday I'm good to go. I'm sure you'll be fine as well.

Jo-Glad you got to see Dominic again and everything is looking ok. Sounds like he's ready to go any time now!

Jo--How fun to know that Dominic is going to have hair!! What a neat thing for them to tell you! Have you had a lot of heartburn (Old Wives tale; lots of heartburn equals lots of hair!)

Jen--When I responded I was on the phone with the Cord Blood people, so I didn't get to write as much as I wanted. Not sure if you have already gone to the doc, but try not to worry. If the baby switches position it can cause all of those symptoms, and since you are just about at the third trimester, things can start to change, also. I'm sure everything will be fine, but glad you are going to the doc so they can put your mind at ease! Good luck

Well, I just enrolled and paid the cord blood registry to bank Ely's cord blood. I see it as a type of an insurance policy; but DANG, that is expensive! It ended up costing a total of $1900. Ugh. They are sending the kit to me 2nd day air, so I will have it Friday. The process is actually pretty easy, and we both feel pretty strongly about the future of stem cell research, so I guess now is where I put my money where my mouth is! We are officially BROKE!

Krissy-I think that is who we are going to use also. My cousin and his wife used Cord Blood Registry and loved it. I've been in contact with them but just haven't taken the big plunge yet. I'm on the fence about whether or not to pay for it all up front or do the financing.

Heidi--If you do go with CBR, you can get two discounts, 1 by referring someone (I refused to give out a phone number, so they are just sending a packet of info to the person I referred. Of course, they would have no way of knowing whether or not that person was really pregnant). 2 and also using the promotion code: 81BE (I got that through Due Maternity). Combined, this saved us $250. I paid for it all upfront; I couldnt stand the idea of ANOTHER monthly bill (on top of daycare and everything else). It pretty much took our entire savings; the rest of which is paying the plumber to move our laundry upstairs (also vitally important!) I enrolled for everything over the phone. It was WAY less complicated than it would have been to fill out all of the forms that they sent in their info packet. Good luck, let me know who you end up going with. Oh, have you asked your doc if he/she is going to charge you? Apparently some doctors charge a fee for collecting the cord blood (mine doesnt).

Hey girls,

I am back at work. Jackson is fine, although it did take 15oz of OJ and an hour to get him moving. Before all the juice, he was being so stubborn. No movement all morning, even when I moved my stomach around. They said that he is probably transitioning into his sleep patterns. I feel much better, and I am glad I went. Vacation would have been miserable if I wasn't sure what was going on and was worried.
Thanks for the positive thoughts.

Heidi/Krissy - I think we are going to donate the cord. Hopefully, it will help a little one somewhere out there.

Jo- So exciting! I can't wait to see pics of that full head of hair!

ok, back to work since I missed a couple hours this AM. I'll check back this afternoon.

Jen--Great! I am so relieved for you. I know that I get scared about once a week when Ely doesn't seem to be moving much; but I think that he just sometimes sleeps really soundly and I need to be patient and wait for him to wake up and give me a wriggle! Have fun on your vacay!

Jen-So glad you got piece of mind before the big vacation. Now you can enjoy yourself and relax! I thought too about going the donation route which I think is great also and then if your child ever needed it even though it wouldn't be theirs you at least have piece of mind you helped someone else out and now it's your turn to get the help.

Krissy-I did mention it to my OB back in June. She said they mainly use CBR or Viacord. She mentioned it was no big deal. She didn't mention an additonal fee but I planned on checking with them one more time before I took the plunge with CBR. I also don't want to think about another monthly bill. But I think if I do things right we'd have it paid for in the first 12 months.

Hey welcome to Allison and Sara! And Yes, we will be finding out the sex, we did with the first one too, it just makes it easier to know what we can use form Cj and what we may or may not have to buy.

Sorry, DH didn't get the belly pix for me, maybe I can set up the tripod and get one myself....

Today I washed all the woodwork in Cj's big girl room and then washed and polished the wood floor...unfortunately, it really needs to be sanded and refinished. I know she won't care, and it will eventually be mostly covered by an area rug. Tonight, Dh is supposed to hang up the curtain rods and put together our second crib and move the loveseat into her new room, too!

Maybe we can finally clear all the stuff out of the guest room, so I can sleep in there on the nights he is snoring his head off.....hard enough to sleep when preggo, let alone with a snorer!

Glad you are all doing well still! Oh, and preggo brain is kicking in - I totally missed an appointment I had on the calendar for Cj for a shot at the health dept. and then yesterday the Dr. office called and I missed an appointment for ME, too....it wasn't on my calendar for some reason, UHG - missed a chance to hear that little heartbeat, now that I am 12 w he might've heard it with the doppler! UGH I am so scatterbrained!

Oh and thanks Amber for the Cetaphil Antibact reccommendation, it is helping some!

Jess

Jess--Glad things are going well with you. How are you feeling? Any different than with CJ?

Well, I had a very wierd doctors appt. today (I posted another thread titled "Measurement Question" if you want details), and I am sort of freaked out. Jo--We got another ultrasound, and they told us that the baby has some hair, too! I haven't had any heartburn, so I guess that is just a myth. I also have NO doubt now that he is a boy; we saw his scrotum and everything very clearly. And, his head is all the way down in my pelvis, which explains why I have to pee every 15 minutes (but awfully early for him to be there!) It was neat to see him, but he is so squished up in there that we didn't get to see as much as the last time. DH made it (I called him from the waiting room), so that was nice. I am still scared, though, and can't wait to go back and talk to the doc in the A.M.

Jo - How exciting! Not much longer until Mr. Dominic makes his grand entrance!

Krissy - Hope everything is okay. I will check it out.

Jess - Have you been feeling okay with this pregnancy so far? How is CJ doing?

Krissy - thanks for asking, I am feeling fine, other than being tired, but also having a hard time getting to sleep at night, plus waking up to pee three times a night! Its a vicious cycle! I had all those things with CJ too, and that time I was still working full time a 35 minute commute from home each was every day! So, although I am glad not to be working full time, CJ keeps me going full time anyway, LOL!

Ok... So my Mom's family is throwing me a shower next month. My husbands family isn't throwing me one at all. Granted they've pitched in quite a bit but still. Should I invite my MIL? I really would rather not, seeing as how my family can't stand her and I can't do large doses of her myself but what would be polite in this situation?
