Holy crap I can't believe it is August. Where did the summer go?

Krissy-Hope you enjoyed your shower.

Jo-Wow sounds like you are making progress to. I cna't believe how close you and Snowie both are. It's so exciting.

Snowie-Glad I'm not the only one not doing the deed during pregnancy.

Well my parents are coming up this weekend. I can't wait. My dad is a carpenter so he's helping get some things done around the house. My mom and I are going to finish the registry and order my rocker chair! My parents haven't seen me since April except in the pictures I've sent so they will be happy to see the belly. DH has actually been great at getting some things done around here so we are making progress little by little.

I can't believe its Aug!

Jo - So exciting!

Heidi - Sounds like you'll have a productive weekend! My parents are coming in next weekend & excited to see the belly. I am glad I finally have one to show them.

Snowie - Any developments?

Krissy - How was the shower?

On the topic of bd - I have found that I am much more interested in it at random times, not at bedtime. DH & I planned a "date" last night when he got home from work. I highly recommend it!

I have been having lots of round ligament pain the last few days. Not so fun.

So, talk about a weird week. First the blowout and 4 new tires, then the BRU shopping bonanza, then the mucus plug and then to top it all off...this morning DH tells me that my rear driver's side tire is flat! I had to go back to NTB and get ANOTHER new tire!! I just bought them on Monday!! Crazy!

Jo-Your ticker is on the last block! Hooray! Sorry about the tires.

Heidi-Yeah, can't believe how close we are! How exciting to see your parents! We wanna see your bump again too!

Jen-Sorry about the round ligament pain. Must mean the little one's really growing! No developments yet. Getting impatient...lol

So I had a freak-out last night after reading all these horror stories about strep B and how it can infect the baby and sometimes cause stillbirths. Why oh why did I have to test + for this?!? I didn't think it was such a big deal! DH is kinda annoyed with all my internet "research." I think I scared him too.

Snowie- I kwym about the GBS. I also tested + at my very first appt. It was a urine sample and the dr said that I would have to have antibiotics during delivery.

I have seen statistics that say many, many pg women have it and their babies are okay. My sister had it with my nephew, my sil had it with two of her three kids. Many of the ladies on the mommy side also had it.

I think we'll be okay. Our doctors know about it, we know to let someone know when we are admitted and we've got to trust that all will be okay. Afterall, we've made it this far, right? It has been a struggle for us both and it's finally going to happen. We're going to be mommies!!!

Snowie ~ Don't freak out. That's why they tested you, now, they can treat it before it will be an issue. It really was no biggy to have the antibiotic. Just be thankful that we live in the time we do, when these things can be tested for and treated asap to keep our little ones safe. It did give me a rash on my chest during labor for about 20 minutes (the antibiotic) but I took some benadryl and was all better before her birth. I can't wait to see you on the MOMMY SIDE! It's getting sssllloooowwwww over there.

Thanks Jo and Kayla. You girls make me feel better. I'm such a basketcase. Jo, you're right, it has to be okay. Kayla, you got your membranes stripped, right? How long after did you go into labor? I'm afraid to let my dr do anymore internals.

snowie-don't stress. It is going to be fine, they do the antibiotics and it will be fine. It is so very common and I agree with Kayla it would be different if we did not live in the times we do now. You are so close and I'm sure everything is getting to you. It did with me. The last few weeks are so difficult, but you are soooo close. Hang in there. It will all work out. Before you know it she will be here and everything will be a memory. You worked so hard to get to this point, enjoy it.

We did it monday, i started light labor thursday night, ended up giving pitocin on saturday morning and I had her at 4:06 pm saturday. I was exhausted from constant contractions but it really all is a distant memory. Did she/he strip your membranes? I may have missed that...

Thank you, Vicki. I'm gonna try to RELAX. Just need to leave it in God's hands, right?

Kayla-I don't think I got my membranes stripped though it felt like I did! My dr would've told me, right? After doing the cervix check she told me that I may experience some spotting which I didn't. I do have some burning down there but that's about it. Were your membranes stripped 'cause you were overdue?

snowie-It is hard to let go and let God. Believe me I know that one. I'm so excited for you and Jo. You both have been through so much and your just about there.

I had my membrane's stripped with Ethan. My doctor suggested it, however it did nothing for me. But it was worth trying. I was really ready to just end the ride. I have heard for alot of people it works. They did mind 4 days before my due date.

Snowie-I think you'll be fine. I always got the impression that with the IV it's really no big deal. It's more of an issue if they don't know and don't do an IV as precaution. Hang in there everything will be fine. I plan on taking a new baby bump picture this weekend and I'll post it.

Ok non-preggo well sort of rant. We've had a lot of changes at work. They brought in a new supervisior to help with the unit I currently supervise because the other one moved to a different dept. She has been here for 3 months and really drives me crazy. No one goes to here for the day to day operational stuff that goes on. Instead everyone comes to me since I know it and it's easier than dealing with her. Which means she's not learning this stuff and the burden falls on me. She really needs to step up because come Nov. she will be on her own for 4 months. And if she doesn't learn this stuff now she definitely won't while I'm gone because it'll be too hectic supervising everyone. She just seems to think all she has to do is supervise her workers and sign off on reports. She takes no initiative to do anything else. We have lots of things that need to be done and since it falls under her unit I feel she should take the lead....instead it doesn't get done and I get frustrated. She's a nice woman but get the feeling she wants to do minimal. UGH.

Snowie ~ We stripped mine at 39 weeks exactly. They would've told you most likely. Enjoy these last few weeks (although uncomfortable) of pregnancy though. Show your belly some love and enjoy the quiet for now. I would say do some nice things with your DH. I went to dinner out with DH the thurs. my contractions were going on...between bites. DH was like do we need to go? I said no we're enjoying this! It was nice to have some quality time while it was still just the 2 of us.

Heidi ~ Sorry about the co-worker. So many people in this world today don't want to pull their weight.

Heidi-Me too, sorry about the co-worker. I hope she does step up sooner than later. Can't wait to see the baby bump! And thank you for the reassurance.

Vicki-Yeah, the only reason I want to give birth already is so I know I have my baby safe in my arms otherwise I don't mind her coming whenever she's ready. But I guess when they're born, the worries really don't stop, do they?! lol

Kayla-That's right, I remember you having dinner at Olive Garden while you were in labor! Amazing!

So I talked to my dr and she also made me feel better. I'm gonna stay off those internet site from now on. I want to enjoy these last few days of pregnancy!
