Tina-Congrats. Hope all is well with your new arrival.
Jo-How exciting for DH to finally feel the baby kicking. Jen-I've been meaning to ask you.....have you had your TSH level checked since getting pg? I went Friday for my blood draw at the lab and see my endo doctor on the 25th. I'm kind of anxious to see where it's at and how often my endo doctor will want to see me now that I'm pg. |

Heidi - I haven't had it checked since I found out I was pg, and have now been on synthroid for 30 days. I was planning to call to check in to see if they want me to come in. I am hoping my IVf Dr can run the test, so I can prevent a separate blood test.

Crystal-what dosage are you on and what has your level been at while pg? I upped my dosage to 75 mcg 6x a week I think in January. I think my level was at 3.1. I'm assuming he'll keep me at about every 3 months for re-check.
Jen-Yeah unfortunately I didn't think about while I was at the RE's office so I had to run to the lab Friday to have blood drawn. And I'm sure my OB will get me again on the 25th when I see her. I can't even imagine how many times I've had blood dranw in the course of the last year! |

Heidi - I can't even count how many times I've had blood drawn since the beginning of Feb. with IVF, complications, pg tests.....more than my fingers & toes. & I have 3 sharps containers that are full from all my injections - and I will be on progesterone until the end of May. It's hard to believe we make it thru everything, but it will be more than worth it!

I really dont seem to pee that much but I'm always nauseous so despite the effort I know i'm not getting a third of the water I need. I feel like I'm failing my baby. I'm so depressed. I was before I got pregnant but now it's just... Beyond anything.
I hate it so much. Some nights I wish DH could just have the baby w/out me so I could go hide under a rock forever. I think I'm gonna talk to the doctor about it. |

amber- sorry your feeling blue. i know i felt really depressed adn miserable my whole first trimester then i started to feel better and less tired right as morning sickness kicked in. i hope it works out for you.
heidi- i dont remember exact number but i know it was between 1-2. i take 100mcg every day and it hasnt needed to be changed throughout my pregnancy. I had just gotten it regulated at 100mcg three months before my BFP, so that did the trick for me. My friend at work needed less synthroid during ehr pregnancy, she actually ended up OD'ing on the med because they never caught the fact that she needed a lower dose and became very ill, luckily her and and the baby are fine. but that scared me into having my dr check often. i work at an er so anytime i feel the need to get it checked my dr calls in the order and i can get it drawn at work. jen- ouch, all those injections. your a trooper!!

Amber - you're not failing your baby!! It's a very emotional time right now & feeling nauseous makes it 100x worse! Just eat/drink what you can right now & take your vitamin & don't worry about anything else! I was nauseous 24/7 (never puked though), and ate what sounded good at the moment (and it was JUNK - hot dogs, Burger King, pizza etc..) ...I figured that even if it wasn't the best choice nutrition-wise, it was better than not having anything in my stomach or puking it up & being dehydrated. I think a lot of first-time pregnant women are so freaked out by what they hear/are told, that it is a shame! Hell, my cousin would get so nauseous during her first tri that she could only tolerate Flintstone's Chewable vitamins & her doc. was OK with that! So, I what I guess I'm trying to say is to stop worrying about the food aspect of it. But, like Bina said - if you are worried about depression, please talk to your doc. about it! I'd be more concerned about that!

Crystal-That's nice to be able to get it checked when the need arises. I haven't had to change my meds too much over the almost 2 years I've been on it. 3.1 is the highest it has gotten since I strated the meds. My doctor is very careful about rasing the dosage as he knows it can create more problems. I'm assuming it will be fine.
Jen-I luckily only have 1 sharps container. I'll need to take it to the RE's office because I forgot last week. Amber-I agree talk to your doctor. As far as being afraid don't sweat it. I drink a couple bottles of water usually during the work week. I'm horrible at it on the weekends. And I can only stomach a glass of milk a day with some yogurt. I don't drink or eat those on a regular basis when I wasn't pg. So I take an extra calcium pill to supplement. You'll be fine and so will the baby. |

Amber~ I agree. Don't worry about the food aspect of it right now. My doctor's office even told me to eat whatever I could at the time and worry about the nutrition aspect of it once the morning sickness was gone. Your baby needs the energy from whatever food you can tolerate. I am like Cole, I lived on junk for most of the first trimester. I found that the blandness of those awful frozen chicken pies helped me to feel better for awhile. I can't even look at them now because I ate so many in the beginning. As for the depression, my close friend who just had her baby about 3 weeks ago, was on meds for depression prior to getting pregnant and stopped them when she found out she was pregnant. Well, she had a horrible time with it and went back to her doctor and he gave her something else to take that was safe and she was wonderful after that. I am not necessarily an advocate for medicating oneself, but if it's what you need to get you through this roller coaster ride of a time, then by all means, look i |
