I'd love to chat with anyone who used the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor. This is our second month using it. Last month I had peak days on CD13 & 14. I realize that the monitor is still getting used to me but it's CD11 and I'm still at low (one bar). I KNOW i need to chill but I'm a little worried I haven't seen a high day yet. I'm 36, almost 37 and I am just feeling the pressure of my "window" shrinking. I've vowed to think positive this month...just a little worried with the low bar this morning. We're going with the BD every other day approach. Last month we BD'd every day and every one i talk to swears by every other day. Anyhow, would love to hear from anyone who has had success with CBEFM!! Thanks!

kc - First of all welcome! I used the CBEFM and really liked it. I bought one in June of 2006 after about six months of trying. It took us over 2 years to conceive as well. I was very up tight and needed to know what was going on with my body so the CBEFM helped me feel more in control. It does take a few months for it to really know your cycle so don't worry too much yet. Are you temping as well? That is how obsessed I was...I temped and used the monitor so I knew for sure when I O'd. And it was right on for me. I am 30 and my dh is 38. There are plenty of people that start having families later in life and you do need to give it a few months before you get too excited. I would say if you get around 6 months you may want to talk to your dr. to start some testing. If you have a yearly exam coming up soon it may not be a bad idea to mention that you are trying and pick up any pointers your dr. may have. Or even feel out how your dr. thinks because many of us here got the "relax it will happen" speech from a dr and believe me relaxing doesn't get you pregnant. I'm kind of off the subject now but if you have any other questions, I'd be happy to compare notes.

Thanks Dana! I'm thinking about temping. When I bought the monitor, there were so many great reviews I just really hoped it would work as quickly with me as it did with others...and it may still...i know i'm jumping the gun a little bit. Picked up a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility today and reading it now. Is this your first? Looks like you're very close! Good luck and i may just write again and pick your brain. Kelli

Hey Kelly,
Temping tells you so much about your body, I really found it interesting. The book TCOYF is great as well. You are on the right track!! The other thing I was going to mention was that we used Preseed on the peak days. That was the only time I got pregnant so I'm believing I may have a CM deficiency?? It is a lubricant that you insert vaginally. You can find it at preseed.com Yes, this is my first and we are really close. Hopefully any day now. Best of luck to you!! You are early in the game but you need to educate yourself for a potentially long road too! I'm happy to share my experiences....I'm not an expert by any means...just unfortunately was at this process for over two years! So whatever questions you have. |

Dana - I've been reading TCOYF all afternoon! I'm a little overwhelmed but i'm sure i'll get the hang of it. (Did you temp orally or vaginally?) I did get Preseed last month at the suggestion of my gfriend who tried for years to get preggo. I don't always see EWCM but i definitely have it sometimes. I wonder though if i have some type of CM definicieny as well. I notice that sometimes (and this may seem like TMI) i am so dry and itchy for a couple days. Is that crazy?? Some months i will get itchy for no apparent reason but i notice that i'm very dry during that time. Worries me a little now trying to get preggo...that i might not have the best CM. And DH and i almost always use lube because i notice i just don't get as wet as i did when i was younger (again hopefully not TMI

TCOYF does have alot of info in it. I basically used it for a reference. I'm not really a reader. I temped orally...vaginally was not an option for me. I never really got much for egg white CM either that is why I tried the Preseed. It does work. Don't worry about TMI...no such thing here. I know how the excitement of trying quickly turns into an all out battle! It is very emotional many of us refer to it as a rollercoaster! Hang in there. It is important that you understand your body that way when the drs start at square one you can bypass some of those simple steps. Temping is a good way to start...most drs will start there so even if you start mid cycle to get the hang of it, I think it is important.

I didn't use the CBE, but I did use the disposable ovulation kits. I know that it is very common for someone to ovulate one month and not the next. Even if you don't this month, It does not mean that you won't ovulate next month. I also read Taking Charge of your Fertility and found that to be VERY interesting; I can't believe how much I didn't know about my own body. That all being said, I got pregnant much quicker than we meant to, so I don't know if that stuff helped, or if we just lucked out. Good luck, and try to enjoy trying!
