Wow
If someone close to me (like a family member or close friend) couldn't conceive then I would probably be a surrogate for them, but I don't think I could do it for just anyone. Espacially as a job.

Wow, I don't know about that. I believe in surrogacy and would love to do that for someone, but that is going a little far and doing it for the wrong reason, money.

I used to know someone who was a repeat surrogate, and had a couple kids of her own. I worked in a restaurant with her when I was 17.

As usual, it’s a case of boundaries and something poised to get out-of-control. With the problems that have happened and the complicated laws regarding surrogates rights in the US, I never thought about it before, but I’m not surprised in the least by this.

If I had my own kids and a finished family, I’d be a gestational surrogate in a second for say, my sister, brother, or a really close friend. Anything beyond that would take a lot of soul-searching. Though I think after my own struggles with IF, I think I’d actually be MORE likely to do it, not that I’d be a good candidate . I can imagine meeting a couple and walking in to meet them, the right couple, and just dissolving into a puddle of tears with the mother, without even speaking. Almost like meeting one of you. IF is its own type of sisterhood. If I had the ability to help any one of us, I think I would. And there is a lot of stuff and restrictions involved -- I don't have a problem at all with surrogacy being a paid job. But on the other hand, for someone to do it over and over again...I don't know.
