Wow, that is really sad. The odds are so against those 22 weekers. What devastating problems those babies will have if any of them live. How can you care for six babies? It would take a lot of time just trying to get them fed and changed how would you ever have time to snuggle and give each one quality care?

It is sad. It seems like it's the risks with fertility drugs these days. I know that I worry because I take Clomid, even though the odds are still fairly low. It will be a tough road, one way or the other for those families. I don't know what I would do in that situation. I dont know if I could do selective reduction. It's almost like I'd rather end the entire pregnancy than be left with two reminders of the four that I got rid of.

Well it's amazing what people can do when your put into crazy situations. Just watch the show John and Kate + 8. They are a great family and seem to not have that much trouble raising twins and sextuplets. DH and I just LOVE that show.

Sarah - I agree. There was an article in the newspaper about 2 years ago that I read about a young couple that live sort of near me that had sextuplets. They have their hands full, but they get by. The woman's mother stops by to help out, too, which is great. I don't know how she does it, but it's amazing.

Sarah I've never seen the show, but I know it can be done, it just seems like it would be so hard. Besides, you'd really have to be financially set for it! Imagine 6 college educations! And hopefully have good family supports.

Plus, those little 22-weekers are going to be in the hospital for a long time, godwilling, which has to be so tough on the family.
