Emily - I agree 100%. There are so many things that we eat on a daily basis that we don't even realize the effect. Like dairy products - milk, yogurt, cheese, butter, ice cream, coffee creamer.... all comes from hormone injected cows. Unless you buy organic or a product that specifically says No BGH (bovine growth hormone), you're getting it in your products.
You're right, though. It is expensive to go all organic. I wish I could afford to do it that way, too. |

Rebecca, I just really started looking into that stuff because I realized how much more meat I eat now that I'm cooking real food every night. My waistline realizes it too.
I also love cheese. Damn cows and their hormones.

I know what you mean. My dh is a meat kind of guy. I don't buy/cook a lot of red meat, though. I usually make chicken. I always buy Perdue chicken. I remember reading that FDA doesn't allow hormones or antibiotics in chicken??? It is listed that way on the Perdue chicken packages, though. I also buy cage free eggs - free range chickens. I drink organic milk, but I don't buy organic butter, cheese etc. I figure if I do a little bit, it's better than not anything at all.
