Default Guaifenesin & Fertility

http://www.sharedjourney.com/articles/guaf.html

Here is an article I found and I thought I would share. This is my 3rd cycle taking the cough syrup.

The 1st month I saw a HUGE difference in CM. Last month I had practically none...but I'm still blaming the Fertility Blend. I'll let you know by the end of the week if it made a difference this month. I started my dosages today.

Betsy~ That's what I used when I got PG with DD 5 years ago. I got PG on my first try. That was then.

Aerrial - Only if you use plain cough syrup with the guaf.... (I never remember how to spell it). Don't buy the other syrups (like the Robitussin DE, CF etc) because they actually can dry you up.

For me it helped thin my CM so it wasn't as thick. Made it easier for the swimmers to get to the goal. Mucinex has it as well. Pre-seed is a sperm friendly lubricant you might want to try as well.

Most people can only order pre seed on line. Luckily I have a pharmacy that's some what close to me that carries it.

Preseed is a sperm friendly lubricant for those of us who don't generally have enough natural cervical fluid (the clear stretchy eggwhite type that is the MOST fertile). You can get it at www.babyhopes.com That's where I get mine. I don't believe it's available anywhere in PA.

Aerrial~ I don't want to over load you with all this info, but since you're going to the store tomorrow... another thing that some of us use that Rebecca first told me about are the instead soft cups. Don't know if you're familiar with them. It's a 12 hour femine protection cup instead of using a pad or tampon. We use them after BD to help keep the swimmers (sperm) in there from leaking out. I keep mine in while sleeping after BD, then dispose of it in the morning.

Aerrial~ I used more than the recommended dosage when I conceived my DD, but check this out... There's other things on here to that might help you. Scroll down to Guaifenesin Syrup.

Thanks Gina

That was very helpful.
It also scared me a bit concerning birth defects.

Did you have any problems?

Aerrial~ As with ANYTHING in this world there's always going to be some risk or else it will cause cancer (not the Guaifenesin) No problems with my DD what so ever other than she has ADHD, but that's hereditary from her dad's side of the family.

Because my fertility diet during non IUI months includes different vitamins etc.......I switched to Mucinex in pill form. It has 600 mg and it's extended release tablets. Because when I was doing liquid I spread my dosage to 3 different times of the day. The mucinex was easier...so that may be easier.
