PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Police in Pittsburgh, acting on a tip, have found the body of a baby hidden in a freezer.

They're awaiting autopsy results expected Friday before deciding whether to charge the 22-year-old mother with murder. For now, Christine Hutchinson is being charged with abuse of a corpse.

Police were led to the apartment after a 911 call from somebody in Texas who knows somebody who knows Hutchinson. The caller said there was possibly a dead baby in a freezer.

Police say the young woman told them she gave birth to a girl April 22nd but didn't call medics or police. They won't know until after the autopsy whether the child was born alive.

The body had been wrapped in a plastic bag, then placed in a brown bag which was then tucked inside a beer box.

So close to home. It's disgusting! Only a couple months ago as young girl had a baby, stabbed him in the neck with a steak knife and put him in a back pack. Yep, this was was around here, too (actually very close to my parent's house).

This is why our situations are so unbearable...you've got people like this who have children and we are here day after day, charting, temping, demanding sex when we might not feel like it, taking pills, injecting strange hormones...and we get nothing! It's definitely screwed up.

I think this is just awful. I don't understand the charge against her, though. "Abuse of a corpse"?? How is freezing it any different than letting it rot somewhere? Sounds like a made up charge to hold her until they can prove if she actually killed the baby or not.
